NFL Free Agency 2016....

This is the same nonsense people said when we let Julius Thomas go last offseason,JT wasn't worth what he was asking for and look what happened to him in Jacksonville....I will guaranteed you that Brock won't be shit in Houston....

Elway knows what he's doing,he's not a dummy

I already said Brock may flop and isnt solely about him. The entire strategy was stupid. And regardless how either os us feel about Brock, Elway wanted him. They wanted him back. This is fact. That being the case it was stupid to tag Von- who you gonna have to pay regardless- while leaving Brock unprotected. And Now Von is gonna cost you more than he would have last week.

What, exactly, is so hard to process about Olivier Vernon getting paid all that money?

He got lucky being a free agent in a year where 1) Teams had massive cap space. 2) No market at all for a pass rusher in free agency.

The Cowboys also made calls for Vernon, you don't think if they had any cap space they would've tried to sign him and give him similar money? They have only something like 40 sacks in 2 YEARS.

Did the Giants overpay for OV? Probably, but it's free agency.. you always overpay.

And most of Olivier Vernon's production came AFTER Cameron Wake got injured.

Cowboys have the cap space to go for anyone they want. They have contracts they can rework.

Stephen is running the team and he doesn't believe in paying FA's big money. After the Greg Hardy thing, he's even more adamant. They'll get some mid level guys at a discount.

So... You read my post and need to ask this question? The currently bum ass Eagles!

I want you to remember this but one thing i will say.... Alonzo is injury prone but he does have skills. If hes healthy he could be a good pick up. Maxwell, unless he restructures he will NOT give you the play to support his contract. He was hidden real well in Seattle so you will need to put people around him, he cannot be you #1.

The gap in talent from 8 to 13 in addition to off loading those bad contracts?! Unless we fuck up that pick yall got roasted on this deal Dude...

Lol you're right! I've been responding to a lot of post and forgot you were an Eagles fan. Also, you forget Kiko was drafted by the Bills and division rival for the Dolphins. So I've seen him play, probably more than you considering the miss time with his injury. The man as you noted can play when healthy and didn't win DROY by mistake. Maxwell I'm more unfimiliar with seeing him a little in Seattle, when we kicked ya'll ass up there(lol) and when Brandon Marshall of the Jets kicked his ass too. Supposedly they are saying locally here he was in a different system with your team than the one he excelled in, point being, we'll see! As for the draft for our needs LB,CB AND OL talent the spot at 13 will allow us to draft "supposedly" a good player. Once more we'll see.you really never know what you have until these players start playing

Get Von done and stop bullshitting. Knowing that the cap is high and teams have a shitload of money to spend which will cause his price to go up as lesser players are overpaid. Thats where they went wrong there. Why bullshit with him? Suh got $60 last year and everyone knew teams would be overpaying this year. First order of business should have been to pay him. Then either negotiate a best offer take it or leave it deal with Os or tag him.

Now you have neither. Von will cost more than he would have a week ago, and you lost free agents. Elway gets an F so far this offseason.

And again, im not fan of Os, but the price is the price. And overall its about the strategy of tagging Von and leaving Os free to field offers... considering they actually wanted him back and will have to pay Von regardless. It was a stupid move is my point.

Sometimes you be on point like a motherfucker!

Proof of white Privilege:

-(170 completions) + (10 touchdown passes) + (7 starts) = 4 years, $72 million

-One good season = $19.5 Million

-One decent STRETCH in a season = 2 years, $36 Million

-Former ROY = Looking in the classifieds for work

....The world can be a really fucked up place sometimes :smh:

 Im not in a keeper leauge but i am definitely considering the fantasy implications of some of these moves. Lamar Miller raised both his stock and Ajayi for next fantasy season..

I agree, that Elway wanted Brock, but he wasn't going to cough up 18 million dollars to a quarterback, who has 7 career starts...it makes no sense at all

Brock should of known Elway wasn't going to blink, especially after what happened with Julius Thomas, last year.

Matter of fact,Elway even renegotiated with Brock, before he moved on to Houston

Now,I agree Elway should of signed Von during the season..

Brock should have known???!! Man you think Brock give a fuck? He and his agent knew they were gone long ago. That deal didnt just happen this week. Brock was ducking Elway calls the moment free agency started.. Elway strategized poorly and got played. Even you said you knew the guy was pissed after being benched, yet Elway still tagged Von and left him unprotected.

And mention Julius all you want... Tightends are alot more expendable than QBs.. and the market dictates price.. all QBs getting overpaid this offseason. Its the cost of business bro. So continuing to tell me Elway wasnt gonna pay over $17 is just silly at this point. The price is the price.

We'll see. We got some good pieces it's just gotta translate on field. Will be interesting to see how this will work. Especially defensively. Some kind of hybrid system on defense maybe.

Other names on Raiders free agency wish list:

1. Sean Smith, CB, Chiefs (signed by Raiders)
2. Eric Weddle, S, Chargers
3. Jerrell Freeman, ILB, Colts
4. Russell Okung, OT, Seahawks
5. Prince Amukamara, CB, Giants
6. Casey Hayward, CB, Packers
7. Chris Long, DE, Rams
8. Bilal Powell, RB, Jets
9. Donald Penn, OT, Raiders
10. Patrick Robinson, CB, Chargers
11. Brandon Boykin, CB, Steelers
12. Nolan Carroll, CB, Eagles
13. Rashad Johnson, S, Cardinals
14. Jahri Evans, G, Saints
15. Mike Wallace, WR, Vikings

Shulda let Brock get super bowl snaps in the last few mins of garbage time. I know its business but they put that dude on ice like a mf'r when 18 came back.

He is gonna need lots of protection to be successful. Lots!!

My man, it was a bad move by Elway... no matter how you slice it. Why tag Von when you're gonna have to pay him regardless. You're only delaying the inevitable. And now he will cost even more after the Giants overpaid Vernon. And considering the importance of the position and market that was set by Bradford... tagging Brock would have been the option to take. And Elway WAS gonna pay the 17.. but Houston offered more. And im not sure he will pan out as a player.. but the rate is the rate. And 18 for mediocre QBs is the price this summer.

Yep stop stalling and just pay these niggas!

End up hurting your team tagging players you know you aren't about to let go!

Give Von Miller the money he wants prior to free agency and then tag Brock and you aren't left scrambling

Cowboys did the same shit with Dez and it cost them money and Murray

Give Dez his deal prior to the 2014 season and you have the 2015 tag for Murray and a cheaper deal on Dez

Teams do it all the time trying to delay the inevitable losing players in the process

As a niners fan, I hope we keep him. I wanna see what he does with a healthy Carlos Hyde under Kelly's system for atleast a year.

Minus whale. Ain't going win in the toughest division in football

I hope he stays too. So he can redeem himself from last season. Shut down all the nay sayers.

9ers must not be getting the offers they want to sign off on him yet.

Everyone has been talking about him in Chips system since 2014 now here is the chance. I actually wanna see how that experiment turns out.

A major fuck up by Elway. He shoulda got the deal done ASAP! And tagged the QB if anyone.. Now he gonna have to pay more AND he lost his QB (not to mention the other free agents that bounced). Bad GM'ing...

Peyton somewhere laughing his big water head ass off.

That's what Elway gets. Should've gave him s new contract. He earned it. Wanted to be a cheap bastard and now he gotta pay for it. He better get over that cheapness real quick.
