Were the Ravens Leaking or was it so called sports analysts making assumptions about what was going on?

If the team did leak anything that was just to add more fuel for Fox, EPSN, and podcast folks to keep talking about it....

They knew the whole entire time they were going to pay Lamar because if they were not, he wouldn't got paid....

But again WHY? DO? ALL? THAT? SH*T?

I asked a radio personality his opinion about the situation - "The Giants are playing this perfectly under the current CBA. And honestly, I wouldn't blame them if they decide to rescind the tag"

Running backs are fucked

They're making sure another Todd Gurley and Zeke don't happen

I think Dallas would have gotten rid of Zeke two years ago if his contract was better.

It's crazy they're trying to get you in a rookie deal and then one year rentals until they're done with you.

The football players association is weak as shit :smh:

One of the weakest, if not the weakest in all of pro sports. A lot of reason why that is..one being the amount of players the rep. And it being hard to get everyone to stick together. The lesser known players just want to get in the league and get paid for the few years they might play. So no unity..

One way to solve the bullshit. Is to get rid of that shit ass franchise tag. Theres a lot of shit the player could get changed if they were unified. But no one is willing to wait the owners out until their demands are met(lockout).

The owners know a lot of the players need them paychecks for all the hoes, cars, jewelry and other bullshit the pay for. Not too many living below their means, to where they can miss some paychecks. So instead getting some real change. The owners dangle shit out there in front of them like, no testing for weed and less practices. And the players agree to that shit and instead of making the owners raise up off that franchise tag.

Rb get used up quick too. They come out of college at 21 or 22 and sign a 4 year rook contract. Now at 26 you up for a new contract, but teams know most Rb's start declining at around 28. I say sign these guys for 2 years and then let them walk if they can get paid more. If you want them you have to match or beat what another team offers them for 3 more years. Stop trapping these guys until they are almost used up.

WE live in a society where Drama Sells

NFL works with media outlets to keep something going on within these outlets year long....

Damn that's cynical as f*ck

But from THAT SPECIFIC PERSPECTIVE?

I can't just dismiss your points off hand

No matter how how much I want to argue against it.

Whelp this thread was very premature

hate to say i said so but
its pretty its a cold world in the nfl and players have almost no leverage

hindsight is 20/20 but the worse thing the NFLPA proably ever did was agree to the franchise tag
it supresses wages (especially in a salary cap league) and limits true free agency
but i guess every sport has their version (NBA has restricted free agency after rookie deals & baseball players have an arbitration process, but atleast in those sports the contracts are printed on toilet paper)

if the Giants treated Saquon like this, this doesnt bode well for RBs going forward

You still have chance to walk in the NBA..even as a restricted free agent. If nothing else, you can always go nuclear and force a trade. And why the fuck would they agree to giving the owners the power to able to place consecutive Franchise Tags on a player?? That shit is a death sentence for RB..Those players hardly ever see all that money, after they sit out to renegotiate. The teams usually cuts them because the production is not there. Zeke is a prime example. He got he got a huge sum upfront on the new deal. But didn't finish out the contract. And he still not on a roster..maybe someone will give him a look if there is an injury.

This is the problem, they talk about how they are devalued and you still take a devalued deal. Why even get this meeting together, now they all looking at him like get out of our face.

The only problem with performance based contracts is the fuckery teams do to avoid paying those escalators. A lot of dudes lost out on money because the team would pull them early from games or they suit up just to ride the bench, when they got too close to hitting those escalators.

You 100%

It's not about that

It's that it seems all the running backs were about to unify had a meeting and when it came down to zero hour he "crossed the line"
