It’s no secret that 51 year old Oscar Award winner, Halle Berry, is a phenomenal actress. It’s also no secret that even though a celeb’ has accomplished a high level of greatness, they’re still human and sometimes have shortcomings in other areas of their life, just like us regular folk. For Halle, her not-so-great area has been her luck with men.

Halle Berry with her then boyfriend and father of her daughter, Gabriel Aubrey
After a few failed marriages and/or public relationships, Halle had finally seemed to find ‘the one,’ when she dated her then boyfriend/model, Gabriel Aubry, in 2006. Two years after the birth of their (now 10 year old) daughter, Nahla, Halle and Gabriel parted like the Red Sea in 2010. By 2014, Halle was deservingly blasting Gabriel in court, for attempting to alter their daughter’s looks to make her more European and less African American. In her testimony, Halle- who is White and Black- also revealed that Gabriel called her a “nig*er!” Nope, that is not a typo ILOSM fam’ although we wish it was. Anywho, read on to see what transpired…

Halle: ‘My Ex Called Me A Ni&&er’

Throwback photo of Halle Berry with her then boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry, and their daughter, Nahla
According to Mail Online, Halle provided the court with a personal note that Gabriel had written her, in which he called her a “nig*er.” She and her attorney presented the letter to the L.A. County Superior Court Judge, Mark Juhas, to further prove that Aubrey clearly has some disdain for African Americans, which is part of who their daughter is. Gabriel’s “ni&&er” letter supported the claims made by Halle- that he changed the texture and color of their daughter’s hair to blonde because he doesn’t want her to look so Black. Wow!

Via MO: [Judge Juhas] said: The racial epithet made by Petitioner [Gabriel Aubry] was and is completely and totally unacceptable. Nahla is a child of both of these parents, making this sort of comment about Respondent [Halle Berry] affect the very core and being of Nahla. And when Petitioner attacked Respondent for what she is and who she is, he was attacking Nahla because Nahla is part Respondent. And Nahla is part Petitioner. So when Petitioner did those things, that does serious damage to Nahla because he is attacking her core being, who she is.”

Halle On Ex Changing Their Daughter’s Features

Then came Halle’s testimony, where she connected Gabriel’s racial slurs to his desire to strip Nahla of her African American heritage as much as possible. She accused him of dying Nahla’s hair blonde and straightening her hair texture.:

Via DailyMail– In her testimony, Halle said: “I strongly feel that Gabriel’s same underlying attitude is at the root in the changes which only he could have been causing to our daughter’s hair.” She told how she had secured scientific evidence to prove she is not “delusional,” as Gabriel had called her, “about the extensive damage and the changes to the texture and color of Nahla’s hair that were observed by me. I was not willing to allow this to be a ‘he said-she said’ dispute.” And she noted: “I continue to worry about the potential psychological and physical damage to Nahla that can be caused by the use of chemical hair treatments and the psychological message that it conveys to Nahla, and to implore the court to put a stop to Gabriel’s attempts to alter our daughter’s appearance and most probably cause her to wonder why her natural appearance is not good enough.”

According to one source close to Halle, “Halle kept asking and asking Gabriel about Nahla’s hair and he kept denying it. … Halle then filed the court papers and Nahla’s curls came back.”

The judge ultimately ruled that neither Gabriel, nor Halle can alter the natural texture, color of their child’s hair, which is all Halle was asking for from the jump:

In the court docs, Halle stated “I want both Gabriel and I to make decisions together that affect our daughter, her growth, her development and her general welfare.”

Hopefully they’ve been able to come to more peaceful grounds now. It may be rare for someone to be successful at completely removing racial prejudices from their psyche and brainwashed mentality, but it isn’t impossible. For the sake of their biracial daughter, we sincerely hope Gabriel Aubry is putting in intense self-work to remove those deeply embedded toxic views about African American from his brain. Wishing both Halle and Gabriel the best as they continue to co-parent their beautiful little girl.

Don't complain now bitch, you had black men in your life and they all concluded that you were beyond black & white but Crazy. You went with the next best thing and selectively had children with cac and she knew all they wanted from her was status, money and to say they slept with Halle Barry, love was never involved.
Monster Ball, certified her in white people's eye's that easy for the pickings....she's been called the N word a lot in her life

I think Halle's overrated as an actor and I hated the movie Baps and that shit came out when I was a kid and I dislike it then and still do.

Wow...ya'll really mad at this HALF BLACK, HALF WHITE woman for marrying a white man lol

Again, she's bi-racial. Part of her, HALF OF HER, is white! Why is it preposterous that she not possibly be with a white man?!?
If she believed this then she wouldn't have a problem with his behavior. Everyone knows that if you LOOK black you ARE black. That includes Halle and her racist ex. So why bother bringing up her white side? Its not relevant in society's eyes.

Maybe it's not relevant in society's eyes (I'm all aware of the one-drop rule,) but I'm thinking about in Halle's position, is it wrong for her to fully deny her white side?!? I mean, her mother is a white woman! Would we ask Barack Obama to denounce his white mother, although he's the first black president? No, but his mother IS white - he's not going to deny her or that piece of himself.

Hey Halle..... That's what happens when you marry a CAC
And no fucks given by me

It just aint cacs. I know a few who were taken care of because of their dishonorable conduct. I donate to women shelters several in the other boroughs.

I don't think its a question of whether the bi-racial person denies their whiteness or not. It's their blackness that seems to be what causes the controversy. So that's where the focus remains.

It's not preposterous that she, a biracial woman, be with a white man.

The distaste comes from a lot of brothas having the perception that she publicly scapegoated us in the process.

To be fair, here are her exact comments from an interview in Essence magazine (March 2009)

Halle Berry jokes about her unsuccessful record with black men in the new March 2009 issue of Essence magazine, which features the Academy Award-winning actress on the cover. “I tried black men. I tried,” she wails in a mock southern accent. “I married two black men. You know I tried.” She laughs again before making clear that “I don’t hold all black males responsible because of the two bad eggs I got. I even dated black men after my last divorce, but this is just where I found love.” Berry and her boyfriend of four years, French Canadian model Gabriel Aubrey, have a 9-month-old daughter named Nahla. Asked by Essence contributor Lola Ogunnaike about being a mom, the film star said, “I thought I knew love before, but I never knew anything like this.”

I can only speak for myself when I say I'm not mad.

Can't be mad at someone that I don't care about.

Maybe she should ask the other half of her for sympathy.:dunno:

I don't see that as evidence that she scapegoated black men - she found love with a white man. Black men do it with white women, people do it with people of all different cultures of their own all the time. But, I truly think because she's a black woman, ya'll are finding fault with her. If the shoe was on the other foot, I don't think the comment would be nearly as mean-hearted as they are here. But, again, another example of how a black woman is damned if she does, damned if she doesn't...

So in One post you call her bi-racial and in the next you call her a black woman. If you’re going to make a weak argument at least stay consistent.

And black men, especially athletes, that get with white women and then end up in a worse position get clowned all the time, I.e. Ezekiel Elliot and Daz Prescott, and we haven’t even heard them make disparaging comments about black women like Halle did with black men.

There is nothing like half white

0.015% of DNA is responsible for skin color

Homo Sapiens came out of Africa

Some mutated and migrated to Europe and mixed with Neanderthal and Denisovan giving Europeans up to 5% neanderthal DNA

https://genographic.nationalgeographic.com/denisovan/

So max 95% DNA of europeans are homo sapiens

Africans are the original homo sapiens = 100%

So where does "half" come in?

if the genetic difference is 0.015 then:
whole cac = 85% homo sapien
and half cac = 42.5% homo sapien

I didn't conclude that what she said in that article was necessarily evidence of her scapegoating Black men either. The reporter indicated that Halle appeared to be joking when she said that part about having "tried Black men". Many of us however did not find the joke funny. The takeaway they got from it was that she was throwing us under the bus.

Ionno about the shoe being on the other foot. I've seen you all dismiss Black celebrity men outright once y'all found out the guy is with a white or non-Black woman (Taye Diggs comes to mind). Both sides - Black men and Black women have been guilty of that kind of condemnation.

I say it's one's personal decision who they want to be with. It's not up to me to criticize who others are with - so long as the Black person dating outside is not scapegoating the opposite sex of their own race. All I know is that for myself, I will ONLY accept a Black woman. I'm hopelessly in love with y'all.

...Also, we find it distasteful that she hooked up with and had a baby with a racist CAC with an apparent Black woman fetish.
