New Yawwwwwk Kneegas get in here

Not for 50 years, ever since TSQ became Disneyland. But back in the day, maaaaaaaaaaaan...

First tune I saw the ball drop I was 14 and me and my friend decided instead of going to the movies we gonna see the ball drop. This was back in the mid 80s so way before gentrification. Man I still remember some drunk white boy punched a cops horse and the epic beat down the NYPD gave that dude.....man I remember it like it was yesterday.

Not one lie told.

One of the biggest fuck-ups I did with footwear was back in the mid- to late-2000s. I worked about 1.5 - 2 miles from the job and there was a modest snowstorm. Ran low on salt / de-icer, so I figured I'd leave early and walk down to the hardware store and then over to work after picking up said salt / de-icer. Was working a 3 - 11pm that day. Threw on a pair of work boots I hadn't worn for quite some time. The walk to work was flat, downhill, then flat. The walk home obviously included some uphill (about half the trek). So walking home after 11pm was a bit of a challenge as it had rained too and sidewalks were a mess, and carrying that extra weight in one arm and transferring it occasionally.

Those boots chewed my feet / heels up pretty good.

Luckily we can store extra footwear at work now, so people have extra shoes & lighter boots in the rec' space.

One of the best workouts was another work location. It was an additional 13 blocks uphill from that place, and I walked there a few times during storms as I didn't want to depend on AM buses. Had better boots for those walks. Made for a long day with 12-hour shifts too.
