War can only happen when two or more sides think they are right, and are willing to die to defend that belief.
You root for who you feel is right.
To me Jamal is redeemable. You see he knows he is in over his head, he didnt want to kill his brother, and he will do the right thing even if he fights you on it.
But I feel like they did that just BECAUSE though...
OK Jamal killed the hooker...
it showed you the truly dark side and in some strange way made him sympathetic. (kudos to a great actor)
Jamal is forced into this life but he is ALSO unbalanced killer
So I feel like they HAD to make Bassam kill Samira was more for the Omar character...to make him truly a formidable opponent
but he ALREADY was after the gas, yeah he was shook and yeah he ran to the Calaphate but I think showing him repulsed by the options would strengthen his own resolve.
we had established that Bassam can kill now
did we REALLY need to see him do that so that now if they bring back the writer best friend he will hate him too? Its like they telegraphing the punches...
making Bassam irredeemable to an extent and the killer his father saw in his his son's eyes.
And then he cannot judge his brother the same because Bassam now has blood on his hands too?
We can't go from Bitch-sam to the Bassam Executioner like that.
But I completely understand your point...
I just rather all the factions doing dirt but with noble intentions now this is blood for blood...the pie in the sky shit is dead.
