It’s gonna happen to generate money for big biz... plus trump needs this to try to convince Americans he came through in the clutch to help America... starve the people than give them crumbs.. people will be happy to get crumbs cause it’s better than nothing and you will embrace the person that fed you when your stomach was empty.. this is the political play that’s gonna happen.. also they purposely reversing people mindset about democrats and making them to look like the bad guys and making the republicans look like reasonable jerks.. it’s all a great act with this puppet show..politrikkks 101
I disagree, as we both point out Trump wants this shit to happen so he can take credit That's why it won't. Remember, Pelosi has MSM on her side. MSM won't make it a pressing issue. Pelosi can continue to bullshit and no one will call her on it.

The republican base is too stupid and prideful. Remember how SD turned down the UE and those silly cacs were happy as pigs in shit, so Fox won't make a big deal out of it. Neither will fiscal conservatives.

Pelosi knows Trump don't need a stimulus with that September job report about to drop(might be under 8 percent UE). That would give him a huge boost. People who need shit shouldn't expect anything until January. Politics and optics first. :smh:

all this dude does, is repeat what we already know.

what i do know is.............there will be no new stimulus package before the election.
the senate are more focused on confirming a justice in less than a month than anything else.
the airline industry is begging for more money as well...........and they have a better chance of getting the $28 billion they are asking for to keep their employees working after the end of the month, than the rest of the country is in getting a stimulus package.
If i had to guess.....look for the airline industry to layoff tens of thousands of workers next week......and no deal on the table before the election.
I wouldnt be surprised if they try to use the SCOTUS confirmation as a bargaining chip and agree to hold off for a while if they can agree on a package, and then move forward. but i seriously doubt they'll go that route.....its too close to the election.

Different zipcodes have different property taxes. And the people in zipcodes with more property taxes also have citizens that are watching politicians more closely. Politicians are less likely to fuck off the money. That means problem is the next level up for such people: State.

I seen one majority black suburb up here let the cacs running it hire their buddy lawyer then try to litigate everything. They were printing money. Got fools clapping like seals over construction projects that go to the companies owned by the friends of white folks running the cities. They put in black leaders thinking that the black folks wont run game on them and then they do just as bad as the whites. :smh:

Story of local government and waste. Then after they bleed funds dry they cry broke. :smh: Something that both black and white politicians know is that they can cry broke and withhold services from black people and the citizens tend to cave. When local politicians try that with cacs, they get voted out or all hell breaks loose at council meetings.

The mismanagement of funds is why I hate this state and local angle Pelosi is playing when it's the citizens that deserve the fucking money. The people who need it most are the ones who get played by state and local the most. Sick of politics man. :smh:

FYI: Congress goes on a month ling recess in October and won't be back until after the election. What does that mean?? If they do not pass a Stimilus bill by next Friday, there won't be one, or at least there won't be one until after the election. The only option that will remain is that Trump goes forward in pushing his stimulus executive order. This is what the GOP and Trump wants to happen.

Huh?

Unless that money is coming from his personal bank account, I dont see how that’s supposed to happen. By law, Congress holds the purse. If thats the case then he would’ve had his wall built by now if he can just unilaterally appropriate money with a stroke of a pen. Lol

You are correct.

Dang, It seems everyone will lose........especially the people.

Second Stimulus is gonna be more like end of January.

If there is to be a second stimulus check expect it in October. I'm sure the delay is intentional to help Trump look good near Election Day. Don't be shocked if it happens.

Cot damn.....every other month they go on a month long recess.....Cot damn !!! :curse:

House Democrats are going back to the drawing board on a huge COVID-19 relief bill, paring back the measure in an attempt to jump-start negotiations with the Trump administration.
The Democratic-controlled chamber could also pass the $2.4 trillion measure next week if talks fall through to demonstrate that the party isn't giving up on passing virus relief before the election.
The chamber passed a $3.4 trillion rescue measure in May but Republicans dismissed the measure as bloated and unrealistic. Even as Democrats cut their ambitions back by $1 trillion or so, Senate Republicans have focused on a much smaller rescue package in the $650 billion to $1 trillion range.

Bridging the overall topline gulf would be difficult enough, but fleshing out hundreds of legislative details at the height of the presidential campaign and a heated battle over filling Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's seat on the High Court could be impossible.

An aide familiar with the leadership discussions and authorized to characterize them said the new bill would total about $2.4 trillion and is likely to contain additional relief for the airline and restaurant sectors, which have been especially slammed by slumps in business from the virus. The aide requested anonymity to characterize the closed-door talks.

“We’re trying to figure out how to move a negotiation forward because we believe the American people need some help. And so we’re going to try," said Rules Committee Chairman Jim McGovern, D-Mass. “Our chairs are looking at everything again and the hope is that we can come up with something."

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., commissioned the effort, which caused a buzz in Washington's lobbying industry — and whose news appeared to briefly spike the stock market — even as hopes for a deal between the Democratic-controlled House, the GOP-held Senate, and the White House still seem to be a longshot.

“We are still striving for an agreement," Pelosi told her colleagues, according to the aide. “If necessary, we can formalize the request by voting on it on the House floor.”

Recent talks between Pelosi and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin have gone nowhere, but neither side wants to officially give up.
Republicans reacted coolly, especially at the prospect of a partisan floor vote if the effort doesn't spark constructive talks.

“It's a waste of time," said Rep. Kevin Brady, R-Texas, saying a Democrats-only approach won't go anywhere. “She could pass 10 more partisan bills. That won't get us an inch closer."
Thursday's developments come as moderate “front line" Democrats in competitive reelection races have been pressing leaders like Pelosi to become more flexible. Some participated in drafting a $1.5 trillion bipartisan bill that fell flat when outlined last week. Pelosi and other Democratic leaders, however, say they are uninterested in a “message vote" that offers political cover but fails to catch on with the Senate or the White House.

“We’re focused on a negotiation, we want to get a deal with Secretary Mnuchin and the Senate because we want to get people help, not just messages,” said House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md.

Pelosi had largely dismissed the protests from moderates to pare back leadership COVID demands or schedule a floor vote. Some of the dissenters, however, had threatened to sign onto a GOP procedural effort to pass a renewal of aid for small businesses, a step with the potential to embarrass her.
“I am hopeful that this will get Republicans to the table to deliver much-needed aid to the American people," said Rep. Stephanie Murphy, D-Fla., who represents a swing seat. “We have been more than reasonable about the negotiations and the needs of the American people, and shame on them if they can’t come to the table."
The revised measure is likely to contain scaled-back proposals to give aid to state and local governments, $1,200 direct payments to most Americans, more than $100 billion in aid to schools seeking to safely reopen, and funding for renewed pandemic jobless benefits and production of a COVID vaccine.

If the unemployment bonus has been helping the economy, why do Republicans want to cut it?

I’m going to be brutally frank here, but Republicans deserve it. The simple fact is is that Republicans don’t care about average Americans. They care about The Donor Class, also referred to as The Establishment, the ones who pay for their campaigns. Don’t listen to what they say, look at what they do. Or fail to do.

Republicans say they want a free market. Yet, over the last couple of decades they have consistently supported consolidation and resisted any efforts to deal with monopolies. At the rate we’re going we’ll soon have like five or six companies delivering all goods and services. The reality is Republicans don’t want a free market.

They say they’re pro-life. Well okay, how come Roe vs Wade hasn’t been struck down? When the GOP had the Presidency, the House and the Senate along with a conservative majority on the Supreme Court, and this happened under Trump and George W, Roe vs Wade survived. They had everything lined up to kill it and it didn’t happen. Why? Because they don’t care about the right to life beyond its use as a wedge issue. They have no intention of repealing Roe vs Wade, they’d lose a valuable tool to get out the vote.

When it comes to healthcare Republicans said they’d repeal and replace the ACA, otherwise known as Obamacare. They’ve had years to come up with a replacement. Where is it? Members of The Donor Class have good health insurance, and that’s all that really matters. If average Americans struggle to pay for healthcare, well, it’s rather obvious Republicans couldn’t care less.

All this just goes to show that we shouldn’t be surprised that Republicans appear quite callous when it comes to what average Americans are facing during this crisis. They appear callous because they are callous. The interests of The Establishment have been seen to and as far as Republicans are concerned, that’s what’s important. They’re not even trying to look like they give a damn about regular folks. And that’s simply because they don’t.

Should be interesting now. I see they mysteriously dropped the money for essential workers yet still claim the 2.2 trillion is for the American people. :cmonson:
No fucking way she passes this so people can get money weeks before the election. Pelosi will bullshit so the stimulus won't hit until election week.

She going to have to blink on that state and local and bring the UE down to 400.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin planned to meet face to face for the first time in more than a month Wednesday in a last-ditch effort to seal a tentative accord on an additional round of coronavirus relief.
The Democratic-controlled House, meanwhile, moved on a separate track to overrun GOP opposition and pass a $2.2 trillion COVID-19 rescue bill as one of their final acts before leaving Washington to campaign.
Pelosi and Mnuchin were scheduled to continue negotiations in hopes of a deal that would permit another round of $1,200 direct stimulus payments, restore bonus pandemic jobless benefits, speed aid to schools and extend assistance to airlines, restaurants and other struggling businesses.
“We’re going to give it one more serious try to get this done, and I think we’re hopeful that we can get something done,” Mnuchin said Wednesday morning on CNBC.

Wednesday afternoon’s meeting at the Capitol is supposed to feature a new Trump administration offer. Mnuchin told CNBC that he expects the proposal to resemble a plan released a couple of weeks ago by the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus that totaled about $1.5 trillion — but was previously rejected by Pelosi and other top Democrats as inadequate.
Pelosi and Mnuchin have ramped up talks in recent days but remain far apart. The two have worked effectively together in the past and were key forces on a $2 trillion aid package that passed in March, but the bipartisan spirit that drove that measure into law has all but evaporated. Neither side has publicly offered the kind of concessions that would generate tangible momentum.

Republicans say they cannot stomach any agreement close to the $2.2 trillion bill that Democrats are pushing. The GOP immediately swung against Pelosi’s bill, saying the liberal Speaker isn’t serious. Even if Pelosi and Mnuchin were able to reach a tentative agreement on “top line” spending levels, dozens of nettlesome details would need to be worked out.
“Let’s see if we can get a compromise agreement with the Speaker, something that works, and then we’ll continue to work with both sides on all the exact language and the policies,” Mnuchin told CNBC.

Pelosi, D-Calif., has not budged an inch on a key demand of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., who says he will not permit a vote on any relief bill that does not provide a liability shield for businesses, schools and universities that reopen.
Pelosi’s latest bill would revive a $600-per-week pandemic jobless benefit and send a second round of $1,200 direct payments to most individuals. It would scale back an aid package to state and local governments to a still-huge $436 billion, send a whopping $225 billion to colleges and universities and deliver another round of subsidies to businesses under the Paycheck Protection Program. Airlines would get another $25 billion in aid to prevent a wave of layoffs that are coming this week.

The proposal represents a cutback from a $3.4 billion bill that passed the House in May but remains well above what Senate Republicans are willing to accept. Republicans have endorsed staying in the $650 billion to $1 trillion range

Lol, Trump knows he's toast so now he wants to spend more

Stimulus checks been in the deals(except for the recent 1.5, but they'd have put them in). That's why there is no deal. Stimulus helps economy. Economy helps Trump. Pelosi does not want those checks out before the election. :smh:

Pelosi basically stalling on state and local that she can come with in 2021. That's what they said again today. She going to run three words into the ground: Stand and local. Soon as she drops that act, the stimulus passes.

American people ain't shit for falling for this show for 2 fucking months.
