Samsung XE303C12-A01US Chromebook - Dual-Core 1.7GHz, 2GB DDR3, 16GB SSD [w/100 GB online storage], 11.6" Display, Google Chrome OS, WiFi - Estimated Ship Date 10/22/2012

Obviously not competing w/ the Air performance though. It's competing w/ netbooks and tablets. If you're a gamer or power user, this is not replacing your laptop. Think of it as a tablet alternative for the person that does more typing. They are gonna move a ton of these lil bitches.

That's all 90% of people need right there. Most people just do Facebook and browse the net.

I don't know man. A tablet alternative for the person that does more typing is a laptop which most people already have or would purchase over this toy. But whonos

this is much lighter, smaller, thinner than an avg laptop and think about how many people buy laptops everyday that will now have a slim $250 option to compare with those $500 and up laptops.

Plus a laptop with an ssd and 10 second startup would be starting at bout triple the price.

well since samsung is on the rise it seems like this might be a good pickup. def have to look into copping one of these for mom dukes. something light she can carry around but still type when she's emailing or filling out information. i would prefer a pad but this is more practical. seems like the older generations just can't press the screen just right and get frustrated with it. lol

I am on one now, fuck surfing bgol or worldstar hip hop on a laptop,

this shit is for web only and its awesome..

but dont depend on it as a regular laptop for like word processing..

you will be stuck son..lol

seriously its the only way to surf these spied up internets!

save your hard drive and invest in one of these bad boys!!

They've been out for a while. This is just the first that's cheap and with a Arm processor. Read a review. the apps are basically Chrome extensions and there's only certain things you can save offline, so it's essentially is useless if you don't have internet access.

Yea I posted the original chromebook when it came out back when they were giving review copies out for free.

You have access to all of your gmail to read and reply to while offline. It will send when you are back online. You have access to your docs offline too.

What is/how well is the Google Chrome OS?

Chrome is cool, I started really using it about a year & a half ago and now I use it on my cell phone, only drawback though is that it's kinda buggy about flash videos, sometimes I have to switch to my Dolphin browser, but I like how I can flip thru up to 10 browsers on my phone (like Windows Aero) and that sites saved in my desktop favorites folder can be accessed thru my phone.

Can the OS be used offline? Or do I have to be connected to the internet in order to use an app or work on something?

Im getting one. I just bought a laptop but needed something for my light duty stuff. Tablets dont have USB and enough power for me. This fits the bill and isnt as small and limited as a netbook.

Sorry, couldn't tell you, I don't have this Chromebook, I just run Chrome on my desktop and cellphone (Android ICS), haven't needed to do any offline stuff.

You're talking about just the browser, he's talking about the OS

instead of Windows...it has Chrome as the OS

Right, my mistake!

Why didn't Google give it a different name, Chrome+ or something like that, makes it confusing.
