What is your Asus running...? Is it Windows 7...?
Yes it is a pain in the ass.. Mainly because of the screen size. That problem disappeared with the iPad. Also, Apple release a version of iWork (it's Office Suite) for the iPad.
I'm running XP, that's why I got it, but i still have to upgrade it to XP pro so I can put my PLC programing stuff on it.
Wow...then I just have a shitty laptop then......my netbook runs faster than my laptop...
Not really. i have a core 2 duo, 4 gigs of ram 2 500 gig hard drives 1 gig of video rap, blue ray disk etc.
I'll just post my setup so you can see. I have both of my computers tricked out. The netbook is running XP with a win 7 theme that slows it down some. But I didn't get it for speed, I got it for portability.
Asus?I love my Asus...shit is fast...but I was lucky to get it w/ XP on it...so I'm sure that helps out a bit...
I just got my ASUS netbook today.
Got a great deal on it.
250GB, 1G RAM (expandable to 2G), among other things.
As someone else stated, I got one more for portability. Especially for music, movie, and e-book files.
Will let y'all know the deal as I use it.
Asus?
sound like some gay shit![]()
But what about card reading and lugging around tens of movies and hundreds of albums and e-books? Thats all media isnt it? We just disagree i guess.nope i get what yall are saying, i'm saying that people thought they needed a netbook, but with a tablet option.. the netbook is no longer a consideration unless your a business traveler or on a budget for your new office or college.. as a media device the netbook loses its appeal and it shifts to the tablets.. because, yes like we are all in agreement they are different.. but again the popularity for netbooks for many was to use as a light weight media device not a computer in that sense the netbook has been and will further be replaced..
Dude...my laptop is shit compared to those specs...but I see your point tho...
I roll like this at work. I convert my movies and bluerays cause I have a western digital media player in my room.![]()
I figure I'll get a Mac pro whenever they come out with an i7 chipset. That way I can run XP pro, OSX and Win 7 on the same machine.
Edit: I forgot my netbook is an Acer. I gave my niece the Asus.
I've been reading your post for the last few days, and you irritate meFYI you can do spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and Word docs on the iPad, so I don't understand that argument. Or a I missing something?
Just out of curiosity whats the magnigying glass for?
Just out of curiosity whats the magnigying glass for?
I have an Asus and I love it for travel, watching movies etc. Plus it can do just about everything my laptop can, just slower.
I might bust this instead of any tablet: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0032ALW5C/?tag=vp314-20
I like keyboards instead of typing on the same screen I am working on.
that lenovo netbook/tablet that someone posted at amazon looks right up my alley. and it is only 5 bills. heavily thinking about that over a slate. definitely not concerned about an ipad.
with that lenova it looks like the best of both worlds.
damn you LS for posting this link
man that tablet is tight...for the same price as the ipad...i put it on my wish list
every time i sign on...mo $$$ out
Ya man that was a good drop by LS...and @ the same price as the iPad...CNET gave it good reviews I think too...I remember flirting w/ getting this while looking for a netbook...ended up w/ the Asus for half the price...the 'wow' factor you get from having shit like this is fun to watch as well...cuz don't nobody else be having shit like this...![]()
Yeah, just remove the bloatware, install win 7 pro (Courtesy of BGOL) upgrade to 2 gigs of ram and call it a day.
"A real computing experience"
Man I like XP...I'm iffy about fuckin around w/ new OSes...
