Yes it is a pain in the ass.. Mainly because of the screen size. That problem disappeared with the iPad. Also, Apple released a version of iWork (it's Office Suite) for the iPad.
I'm running XP, that's why I got it, but i still have to upgrade it to XP pro so I can put my PLC programing stuff on it.
Cool...not gonna front like the iPad doesn't pique my interest...sure as hell don't expect a USB drive...but if they even do like the Slate and provide a card slot...I think I'd jump on it...I need to do like Vegas Guy and play around w/ it 1st and get a feel for it...they should have a display model @ the Apple store...

Not really. i have a core 2 duo, 4 gigs of ram 2 500 gig hard drives 1 gig of video rap, blue ray disk etc.
I'll just post my setup so you can see. I have both of my computers tricked out. The netbook is running XP with a win 7 theme that slows it down some. But I didn't get it for speed, I got it for portability.

so, it went from >800% growth when it was first out (netbooks) and now 2 years later its at 33.6% growth. Ok, how is this a bad thing? Seems like perfecting timing to release such an article when iPad is now out.. As for the iPad, your better off just buying a netbook/notebook with its USB, camera, SD slot, expansions, connect it to a HDTV, etc etc. The iPad is just a ridiculously overpriced peripheral that only MacHeads will follow like the blind sheep they are.
But what about card reading and lugging around tens of movies and hundreds of albums and e-books? Thats all media isnt it? We just disagree i guess.
The only real point you've made is about the business commuters who want to read mags and newspapers on the go. The form factor of the ipad would be better than the netbook for doing that. But do i really want to carry that slab around just for that?? Not to mention im limited to viewing content in shaded areas without natural sunlight because of the ipads color screen.
I figure I'll get a Mac pro whenever they come out with an i7 chipset. That way I can run XP pro, OSX and Win 7 on the same machine.
Edit: I forgot my netbook is an Acer. I gave my niece the Asus.

That ipad is a piece of junk. I went to best buy to cop a macbook pro yesterday. looked at it and laughed. Also didn't get the macbook because it's so fuckin' overated. Instead, I bought a toshiba with a 12cell battery, 16 inch screen 500gb of memory and a i3 processor for under $700. Fuck Apple!

Ya man that was a good drop by LS...and @ the same price as the iPad...CNET gave it good reviews I think too...I remember flirting w/ getting this while looking for a netbook...ended up w/ the Asus for half the price...the 'wow' factor you get from having shit like this is fun to watch as well...cuz don't nobody else be having shit like this...

Yeah, just remove the bloatware, install win 7 pro (Courtesy of BGOL) upgrade to 2 gigs of ram and call it a day.

Win 7 is pretty cool. Plus you need it if you want the full touch screen shit.
