NBA implementing a Dress code for Coaches

The NBA is implementing a dress code upon its coaches this season.

Coaches can no longer wear mock turtlenecks under their suit jacket, as they will be required to wear a collared shirt.

"I want them to at least name the rule after me," Orlando Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said. "Somebody has their Bird rights. Larry Bird got that rule named after him. I want it to be the Van Gundy Rule."

"I don't like that," Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. "I really like Stan's style. I thought Stan really set the bar for the dress code. I think he should stay with that. I think it's nice."

"What the fuck is this bullshit?!"

I guess Stern was tired of coaches wearing jerseys, and chains running with a huge entourage

This is some bullshit.. The coaches always wear suits I dont see the point to this....

why?? is there a point 2 this?

This!

That faggot Stern needs to take his bitch ass somewhere...:hmm:

I wish another crooked ref would come out or some shit. The league has all kinds of problems, and he's worried about the coaches not wearing a collard shirt? :hmm:

:smh: @ Stern's out of touch, punk ass tryna play fashion police again. And on THIS boolshit, of all things.

I really think he's going senile. Like you said: with all of the NBA's image problems that need to be addressed, this is where he takes a stand? THIS shit? C'mon son. I haven't fucked with the NBA hard-body for a min (and not at all since Rasheed left the Pistons) but as long as Stern is there keeping things corny, I won't be back. Fuck him.

I'd honestly buy a ticket and put money in that man's pocket to hear him explain to us who he thinks the NBA's fanbase consists of. Cuz that mafucka appears to be under the impression that he is the average basketball fan. And that his opinions are that of Everyman USA....

I like the rule actually. Making the coaches look sharper isnt a problem with me. Plus Stern seems like he is trying to take the league to another level.

Stern has taken the league from the 3rd major league to nearly number 2. I'm pretty sure it is tied and will most likely pass the MLB this season.

had this thread not been created i would've never noticed or gave a flying fuck about what the coaches wear

Well if the players look a certain way, shouldn't the coaches have too?

Coaches are sort of in a supervisory position.

Let's say players are business casual.
I don't think it's too much to wear a shirt and tie. Most of them do it anyway.

The mlb is number #1? I didn't know that. What does give it that rank?

:hmm:

but they are struggling and need two more games :lol:

its a catch 22 for the nfl to be honest.

at this point ppl really are gonna be going to playoff games that's about it. but thats because the nfl has such a lucrative tv deal. and now tv's are so fucking awesome that people would rather spend money on the big ass tv and watch the games at home.

owners are just a microcosm of the whole country. always tryna find a way to make even more money instead of enjoying how much you already bringing in.

You know what. You are right. NFL is starting to be a tv spectating sport.. I use to go to NFL games, but I really don't enjoy it like watching it on tv. With instinct replay being a major factor I prefer watching games on tv. Baseball on the other hand is a sport I enjoy at games. I think a lot of people enjoy baseball live at games. On tv baseball is kinda boring. NBA is a game that I enjoy being at live games and watching on tv. The NBA has become so upfront and personal where you get the best of both worlds.

Yeah, coaches wearing a shirt and tie is going to take the league to another level. :hmm:

Why do we accept the NBA's crap? It clearly is racist with them implementing euro standards of dress for players and coaches.

I'm not sure why guys are complaining about this rule. The players have to abide by a dress code if they are to sit on the bench, why not the coaches?

Guys on BGOL are funny. The same guys that are complaining about coaches in the NBA being oppressed are the same guys that called the Heat's new "Big 3" cowards for bucking the system and doing things their way.

Which is it fellas?

The point is he should not be telling grown men whether they be players or coaches how to dress. :hmm:

Shit every since the dress code has been implemented for them Negroes the crime has gone down in the NBA.

Why do we accept the NBA's crap? It clearly is racist with them implementing euro standards of dress for players and coaches.

Because WE don't own the league. It's like the inmates trying to tell the warden how to run the prison.

The point is he should not be telling grown men whether they be players or coaches how to dress. :hmm:

Lets see. I can name over 1000 companies that tell their employees how to dress.

I got a question for the 3 of you. Do you guys run a business?
