NASCAR bans Confederate Flag at their events

Geeee....let me go watch some cars make endless left turns now

I can't wait to go see that

I'm sure I'll be welcomed with welcome arms with my BLM shirt :hmm:

Dude is over 50 and his best finish last year was #33. His best finish ever was #9. Bye, Felicia... :curse:

NASCAR Truck Series driver QUITS after the Confederate flag is finally banned at races after 70 years as the sport's only black star Bubba Wallace applauds abolishing the 'hate symbol'
  • NASCAR Truck Series driver Ray Ciccarelli is planning to quit at the end of the season over his objection to the circuit's decision to ban the Confederate flag
  • Ciccarelli wrote on his Facebook page following the announcement that he is done with 'any political BS,' adding that the flag isn't seen as racist by everyone
  • Outraged NASCAR helmet artist Jason Beam tweeted 'ignorance wins again, NASCAR you realize the North had slaves too, lol not just the South'
  • A publicist for one NASCAR driver tweeted the decision was 'a joke'
  • Bubba Wallace, the circuit's only black driver, called for the change on Tuesday
  • Wallace applauded the move: 'There's just no good that comes from that flag'
  • For more than 70 years, the flag was a common sight for stock car racing - a sport that's rooted in the South and has come to symbolize the region

It just occurred to me, this is a smart move on NASCAR's part. They get to look like they're down for the cause all the while knowing there's no way in hell they can enforce that ban. As a matter of fact, there will be more traitor-loser flags than ever.
It’s always a overlay for the underplay

Isn't Magic Johnson invested in NASCAR in some way?

NADCAR? Does motorsport.com not proofread their shit?

Not only is this guy perpetuating the stereotype of a NASCAR fan/racer with his terrible writing but he is also contradicting himself. He doesn't believe in kneeling but also believe in people's RIGHT to waive a flag. Willing to bet my left arm he doesn't believe others have the RIGHT to kneel either. And I can't even decipher what he is attempting to say with that last sentence
He doesn’t believe you’re an American because he doesn’t believe you’re even human. America only belongs to him and people who think like him.

what an awful perspective.

Now if that ain't the mug of a fucking bigot ass racist.............bald headed bitch. Fuck quitting at the end of the season. Quit now bitch.

NASCAR's Bubba Wallace Finds Noose In Team Garage ... 'Despicable Act of Racism'

8:06 PM PT -- Bubba Wallace and NASCAR have confirmed the noose was found in Wallace's team garage Sunday afternoon at Talladega.

Wallace -- the only Black driver in NASCAR's top series -- immediately condemned the situation ... but says he will continue to fight against racism.

"Today’s despicable act of racism and hatred leaves me incredibly saddened and serves as a painful reminder of how much further we have to go as a society and how persistent we must be in the fight against racism," Wallace says.

"Over the last several weeks, I have been overwhelmed by the support from people across the NASCAR industry including other drivers and team members in the garage."

"Together, our sport has made a commitment to driving real change and championing a community that is accepting and welcoming of everyone."

"Nothing is more important and we will not be deterred by the reprehensible actions of those who seek to spread hate. As my mother told me today, 'They are just trying to scare you.'"

"This will not break me, I will not give in nor will I back down. I will continue to proudly stand for what I believe in."

NASCAR also issued a statement saying the org. is "angry and outraged" and "have launched an immediate investigation."

2:26 PM PT -- NASCAR just postponed Sunday's race due to rain.

NASCAR is committed to keeping the Confederate flag out of its races -- but some bigoted fans seem just as committed as shoving it in there ... even if they have to take to the skies.

Before the Geico 500 race got underway Sunday at Alabama's Talladega Superspeedway, somebody flew a plane over the track with a massive banner bearing the flag ... with a message attached. It read, "DEFUND NASCAR."

That wasn't the only display of the Confederacy either -- not by a long shot. While no confederate flags were allowed inside the venue, a bunch of truck drivers rolled past the Speedway in what seemed to be a coordinated protest parade, with many flying the flag.

Some folks who wanted to show it off some more even set up camp across the street, and were proudly displaying the Confederate flag, alongside some Trump flags too.

Obviously, some people aren't all too pleased with NASCAR's new policy. But it doesn't sound like the org gives a damn about them, 'cause one of their top dogs took a swipe at the people acting in defiance ... flatly rejecting their thinking, and calling them names too.

Steve O'Donnell, NASCAR's executive VP, addressed the fly-over on Twitter, writing ... "You won’t see a photo of a jackass flying a flag over the track here...but you will see this... Hope EVERYONE enjoys the race today."

It appears God and whoever else is up there in heavens were on Steve's side here -- it was reported that lightning started flaring up in the area, and the event was put on pause for a bit. If that doesn't make the plane land ... well, best of luck getting your message across.
