I don't really follow tennis like that, but I'm not even mad at her for basically saying they be asking bullshit questions and hating on her. While some players seem to find joy and comfort in silencing their critics, Perhaps Osaka is not wired like that. Maybe she has less self confidence. Hopefully shutting these white people up will become something she enjoys when she gets some more experience under her belt. Maybe growing up in Japan, she was subjected to a different type of racism.... never subjected to "all these white people hate your excellence, and will try to sow doubt in your mind.

I think the one thing we're forgetting is, she is still a baby or a child at 23. Some, depending on how you were raised, have the "Mamba" mentality or killer instinct and can use the criticism as fuel. Other's not so much. It could be a thing of being criticized so much, like fuck it. Like everyone has said, kids today are built different.
