its bugged out how MoviePass has changed my movie going experience
I went to movies atleast once a month now it is my duty to got atleast once a week

I have seen alot of flicks that I wouldnt have watched otherwise and lend my card/account info to my wife & sis
its only a matter of time til MoviePass goes bellyup. I will get my money's worth. but i read interesting article about the ramificattions of moviepass. its gonna be hard buying a ticket at regular once this shit dies.

You actually like blockers? I left shortly after the car blew up . Two white girls who were in the theater with me left also.

Oh, and every movie that has come out since Black Panther has been watched with a black panther ticket except Rampage and Wrinkle in Time. They lost so much money on black panther. I've seen it 14 times, and for the first 3 weeks it was out I got a ticket a day and gave it to a local stranger, kids on the playground, whomever.

I won't see Infinity Wars 14 times

Is it 2 late to jump on the movie pass train?

too late
they losing money left and right trying their best to stop the bleeding at the expense of their fans

new users can only use it 4 times a month
they just updated their app to disallow ppl from seeing the same movie more than once
and now you have to send a pic of your ticket

all steps to stop ppl from abusing the system
i will keep it for now but its not as attractive as it once was

I bought a years worth for 89.95 in a deal they had with Costco. If they let me renew at the same price and terms I will, if they change it up or charge me more I'm out. I got until December to to see at least 52 movies.

I got hit with taking a pic of my stub the other day. And now with the latest update it's not going to let you see a movie more than once.

Looks like it might be on it's last leg.

Paid for Black Panther and saw blockers. Blockers is dumb and not funny at all

It's you, because the movie makes perfect sense

My list is long:
Dark Tower
Kingmen
Happy Death Day
Foreigner
Marshall
Thor Rag
Blade Runner
Downsizing
The Post
Den of a Thieves
Proud Mary
Commuter
Annihilation
Death Wish
Red Sparrow
Game Night
Gringo
Tomb Raider
Black Panther
Jumanji
Pacific Rim
Ready Playe One
Quiet Place
Rampage
Truth or Dare
Acrimony

They were dumb. They thought the people who had Movie Pass wouldn't really use it and just go their normal one or two movies a month.

Everyone I know who has it goes at least once a week if not multiple.

Any movie I'm slightly interested in I'm going to see

I got hit with the take a picture of the movie stub as well. I don’t care I just snap that shit as soon as I get it from the kiosk. People signing up today can only see one movie a week which is fine with me if they did that to my account. I really only see one movie a week and if I have time I go on the weekend. Most of the movies I posted above I seen on a Monday evening after work it is really the only day I have free. Movie pass is not going anywhere, this is a revolutionary move much along the lines of Netflix. There are atleast three article a day written about movie pass most of it propaganda hoping for its fail. I believe they should reduce it down to one movie a week, and or raise the price for those whom want more than that. Add a function where in if you go to more than one a week it auto charge you the rate of the next plan so you don’t have to change your current plan. There is many things that can be done.

Moviepass already proved they can affect attendance at theaters when they removed the AMC THEATERS which they have since added back but during that time many people whom used movie pass just went to other theaters. Others have said they did not return to the AMC even after they were added back. I believe movie theaters should play ball as the theaters are snack stands that show movies. People are more inclined to spend money on snacks with movie pass. I believe eventually they all will make deals with Moviepass.

It's you, because the movie makes perfect sense
Oh, the movie makes perfect sense. Parents of little girls don't want their kids fucking. I just didn't think the actors or their jokes were funny. I only got to where the car blew up so maybe I didn't give it enough time

I would do more than one a month but there aren't enough watchable movies out there right now. I mostly am using Moviepass for the blockbuster movies and a few indies that interest me...

I wanted to see that Entebbe movie but it's already gone. Hope to see Beirut while still in theaters.

Really the only reason to hit the movies is for the sound system...cause any thing I want to see will be on terrarium or set t.v. within a week.

Now new subscribers only have a max of four movies a month.
Yeah. They pulled this right when I was getting ready to get on board. I had a few friends that swore by that unlimited plan, but I also had a few that never got their cards/accounts/etc.

Thing is, while the downgrade sucks, ten bucks four for movies a month is still not a bad plan. Just not as good as one a day. To be fair, I probably only go to the movies on average once a week, anyway.

But I'm still feeling like the whole thing is gonna turn belly up, probably right when I finally decide to put money into it. Like most hustles, I didn't drop in close enough to the start to see the true benefit.

it seems like moviepass is trying to have its cake and eat it to
only ppl i know in real life that fuck with MP are avid movie goers. Ppl that go to the movies every week, that see multiple movies over and over

for the average person mp doesnt make sense cause they only go to a handful flicks in a year. thats the clientale they are trying to get. the same ppl that sign up for a gym membership in january but never go.

but the ppl that really signed up are the diehards. and with every iteration they are screwing them over
to be honest their business model was complete bullshit. they hoped ppl would sign up and not use it. the ppl that did sign up are now using it too much.
they hoped they could force the theatres to cut them in. the theatres are gladly taking their money but doing everything they can to undermine them

i use it about once a week and try to get more than my money's worth cause to be honest they wont be around that long cause their business model is unsustainable

the question is once they go under or change their business model to point where they customer base turns away...in a weird way going to the movies will be less appealing.
how do I go from going to movies effectively for free to paying 12 plus dollars?

Every time I use the card I expect it to say, “dude, you’re drawing.”

I saw Thor 4 times with it. I saw Black Panther 7 times with it. Anyone with sense could state what incentives would be ripe for abuse. I’m surprised they haven’t said you have to use multiple theatres, or have to buy $39 worth of consession food. Fucking clowns.

I’m going to use them today and tomorrow. And next week Tuesday too. Fucking clowns. What a shitty business concept. And yes I have labeled their emails spam. Don’t pitch me movies I don’t want to see. Halle Berry and Daniel Bond? Fuck you. I’m not using my one a day privilege on a woman who should be on commercials on Sy Fy.

The guy behind it was an executive at Netflix and was President of Redbox...I think he knows what he's doing. I actually want to get some stock...imagine if this changes the scene like Netflix.

It’s not lost on me that I received this notification the day that Avengers: Infinity War came out. It is not hyperbole to say that this is one of the biggest movie events in recent history. There are no doubt those (myself included) who would have jumped at the chance to see this movie multiple times in theaters for the low, low price of $9.95. Despite the company’s lofty promise, there is simply no way they could afford this.

It makes sense from a business perspective. It’s still a gut-punch to people like me who signed up for one thing and now receive another. And it’s even worse for those people who were tricked into signing up for a year of the service. If you signed up last month for a year of MoviePass expecting to be able to rewatch movies as much as you want, you’re now stuck with a service that only lets you watch each movie once, and makes you file paperwork when you’re done. This is not how good companies run things.

Yeah, I don't think the four movies a month will draw in a lot of new customers. Especially considering they keep changing the terms of service.

 I'm seeing a lot of movies I wouldn't pay for. I don't know how I'd react without it. I'd probably go to the movies less, and I was going two times a month before movie pass.

Yeah, I wanted to see Rampage again, because I fell asleep on it. :smh:

Admittedly I was tired as hell going to see it and I mainly saw it because it was free and I could.

I was hoping it would be action packed enough where I could make it though it. There was a lot more talking than I expected.

You’re using it just like they intended.

Lol I just posted an interesting part of an article I was reading. I think Moviepass will succeed and I want in on the ground floor. 1000.00 of Netflix back in 2007 is like 330,000 today.

their current business model is unstainable unless they get the studios and/or theatres to buy in
when compared to other game changers like netflix there is one huge difference. Netflix had fix costs. They were paying a set cost to purchase movies/tv shows
with MP there is no set cost. because they actually have to buy the tickets

Yeah, it's hard for them to determine how much expenses are.

Is the person going to a matinee versus at night?

Do you account for more new members in New York versus Alabama where movies cost more.

Did they consider the number of people seeing two or more movies a week?

Then a movie like Avengers, Star Wars or Black Panther might come out, and they want to see the movie multiple times. I'm sure the whole not seeing a movie more than once is tied to Avengers opening.

In the immortal words of Bernie Mac, "they done fucked up the church's money"

They fixed that shit quick. I paid for Black Panther I don't know how many times. I would give the tickets away when I could, but sometimes I would just buy the ticket and go home. Even still I saw it 14 times

MOVIEPASS is wilding
full disclosure i have been abusing MP since i got it
letting my wife use it, letting my sister use it, doubling up (buying ticket day of and day in advance)

I've done everything i can to get my money's worth...but MP is hemmoraging money and they cracking down on ppl like me
everytime i've used of late there is a new update that seems to be coming directly at me

  • cant see a flick more than once
  • gotta take a pic
  • couldnt use because my phone wasnt an authorized user
i cant be mad but MP is fucked. They doing shit backwards. They gave users unlimited freedom and now they trying to take it back. They would've been better off having this in place from jump but for long time users it isnt as appealing as it once was

real talk i might go see Tully tommorow on GP cause i will get my money's worth before this shit goes under

Lol, hell yeah. Me too. Like I said earlier, between February 16th until Infinity War came out and they changed it every movie I saw was seen after paying for a Black Panther ticket - just walked into what I wanted to see after I got the ticket.

Black Panther got $352 from me alone courtesy of MoviePass

So you are the guys fucking it up for me

I only abused it to buy BP tickets when I was watching something else in IMAX/3D
