LMFAO..... i remember damn near havin an asthma attack tryin to get zelda to work....( the gold cartridge one).... 30 mins into blowing into the game/ putting it next to the a/c vent, shit finally worked.... only to see my save had been erased..... i cried like a bitch that day.....

o yea, we also had the "SUICIDE" game method to get nintendo games workin..... q-tip + alcohol+non working game= shit would boot up everytime...... for bout a week, then u would have to throw the game away, cause that shit was dead soon after....

damn it was fun bein a kid....... not a fuckin REAL problem in the world.......no bills, annoying bitches, or issues to worry about.....

worst for me those days was jrpg games... long 3 hour strategy/party turn based battles, restarting the battle until you get the strategy right only to realize you still got about an hour left in the fight

and its 3am and you have school in the morning and your mom is going to throw that nintendo/genesis out the window if she sees that light from your tv shinning under the door

I got both PS3 and 360 and they have BOTH died on me before, the only difference is that Microsoft went on and handled their business and replaced mine real quick, whereas Sony wanted to act like a bitch and pretend nothing can happen to their new system.

Bought my Xbox 360 first night. Got the red ring in Jan. 2006. Sent it in and Microsoft sent me a new one within 6 days. Haven't had a problem since.

Got my PS3 for Christmas 2006. Died Feb. 2007. Took almost 3 weeks to replace.

If you're under warranty you're good and if it's close to running out get an extended warranty or store warranty. So you see I don't know why people complain when the Xbox dies, as long as they keep replacing it when it dies I could care less. It's costing them more money than me!

Just hope nothing happens to y'alls PS3! They want your whole history when you call them!

How long have you had it?
Where did you purchase it?
We need a copy of your receipt
What have you been doing with your system? Playing one fucking game at that point! Resistance, and I didn't even collect blu-ray movies then, so I didn't overuse it.

microsoft was the same way in the beginning, charging for the repair cause they said it was only a few cases. it eventually got so bad they implemented the 3 year warranty at a cost of over 1billion.

prior to halo 3, the xbox was bleeding money since the original launch.. no profit... no way are some of you really thinking that microsoft sacrificed profit to crush sony and prove to its customers that they have better service to support what some claim to be a non existent or over blown problem.

Best Buy.....$50 Store Warranty....I'm on my 3rd one! When this one overheats, I'm taking that bitch back to Best Buy to get another..........

Good point! Last time I exchanged for a new, ol' boy tried to sell me a new prorated warranty to me. I told him I didn't have to do that before and he told me I have to now. It was only $17 but I wasn't paying that. As soon as I asked for the manager he waived it and gave me my 360.

Video game Halo 3 earned more than £84m ($170m) in sales in its first 24 hours on release, according to Microsoft.

The game sets the record for the most money earned in a day by an entertainment product, topping figures set by film Spiderman 3.

Thousands of shops opened at midnight on Monday in the United States as gamers queued for the Xbox 360 title.

But reports of scratched discs have marred the launch, with Microsoft offering to replace them for free.

Sales figures from European launches have yet to be added into the total.

More than 1.4 million people have gone online to play the title since its launch and more than four million online games of Halo 3 were logged in the last 24 hours.

"Halo 3 has become a pop-culture phenomenon," said Shane Kim, corporate vice president of Microsoft Game Studios, in a statement.

Microsoft needs Halo 3 to boost sales of the Xbox 360; despite investing billions of dollars into the Xbox project it has yet to see any meaningful profitable return.

"It's far too early to say what the financial return will be for our investment," Mr Kim told the BBC News website last month.

Microsoft hopes to make a profit on its Xbox in this financial year.

Microsoft has started a disc replacement service for gamers complaining of scratched copies of a limited edition version of the game.
