Save up and get a samsung or sony. Insignia just suck. I hate sony for one reason, the dam memory cards. If it wasnt for the PS3 and PS2 I would have boycotted everything they made b/c of there mem. card!!

i have a friend who plays his all the time, watches movies on it using the dvd drive, streams to it, plays dvd games and downloaded games and no problems since launch
some play it 1 hour a week and it dies
some say its a lottery, some say every 360 will have eventually died within 3 years of use.
If you get the three red lights or like mine did your picture freezes and/or you get sound but no picture you can do the towel trick.
Basically you unplug all cables except the power cable. Wrap two thick bath towels around your xbox and turn the power on for 15 mins. The heat temporarily (for some perm) fixes the problem which in a lot of cases has to do with the solder they use losing connection.
Couple things...
1) know it sounds like bs. I'm on iphone or I'd link you. Google or yiutube it.
2) it worked for me and lasted a week. I then did again and it lasted a week. Ended up just sending back to ms. I'm sure all the heat isnt good for it.
Which Model do you have? there are 7 models that look the same..mabe even MORE..i know of the 4071,4671 & the 5271.
THEN there is an 81 series 4081,4681,5281 and 5781..ALL of which run on or with that 120Hz joint. There's even a NEW 100Hz series coming out now or soon.I'll be getting one in less than 2 weeks. Which are you running wit Mane?

i read up ..on all the problems..people were havin' with 360's as far as overheatin' and disc scratches..so i laid mine flat and kept it in a well ventilated area (my entertainment center doesn't have a back to it)...
i only played it...maybe once a month...a lil bit more when i got a new game...
and i occasionally watched dvd's on it...
but like a year ago...the disc tray stopped openin'..when i pressed the open/close button...and i had to start pryin' it open with a butter knife..
THEN..my 360 lost the ability to read the discs...
i don't know the answer to the argument ..which is better ps3..360..or Wii..but at least the Wii and PS3 work!!

aight this sounds stupid, but when you get the RROD, you take a few towels and wrap your 360 in them. gotta make sure the box is completely covered on all sides. then turn it on and leave it on for 20-30 minutes. the idea is to (stupid part) try and get it as hot as possible by blocking all air passages. about 2 days after i heard about this shit my 360 fucked up. and ill be damned if i tried this shit and it worked. i couldnt get my shit to get past the intro screen but after i did it, it stayed on for about 10 hours before i turned it off and went and bought a new one.

my original one works till this day but it you liable to catch a asthma attack trying to get a game start
LMFAO..... i remember damn near havin an asthma attack tryin to get zelda to work....( the gold cartridge one).... 30 mins into blowing into the game/ putting it next to the a/c vent, shit finally worked.... only to see my save had been erased..... i cried like a bitch that day.....
o yea, we also had the "SUICIDE" game method to get nintendo games workin..... q-tip + alcohol+non working game= shit would boot up everytime...... for bout a week, then u would have to throw the game away, cause that shit was dead soon after....
damn it was fun bein a kid....... not a fuckin REAL problem in the world.......no bills, annoying bitches, or issues to worry about.....

Get a ps3! I got an isignia, haven't had any problems wit it yet, got a month 2 get the warranty, if they really suck maybe I should get the warranty.
Keep making them cats richer. I for one will always by my PC in parts with warrant (my rig is always top of the line and under $400).

*On its on mini-table away from closed areas so the fan can vent
*Play it for no more than a hour a day or two
*Never try to do any mods or hacking
*Shut it down from the controller through the guide system, never the power button
*Keep it dusted

Think I've had mine going on two years now, I keep it on the carpet lying down, when i first had it played it every single day for hours, I play Halo 3 every now and then on it, and I use it everytime when im streaming movies, my brother has no pc in his room so he uses it to play music, never had any problems yet, I guess I was one of the lucky ones or something...
and sorry to hear about the dead 360... i only laugh at those that claim there are no issues with the 360 and that i and others make things up

Wow this seems to be a serious problem with XBOX. My man just had his crash on him last night. Said that he caught "the red ring of death???" Now he's scrambling to get it back to Microsoft for a warranty to see if they can fix it.

I had 2 previously Die on me, both were kept in the horizontal position. They were never bumped or moved, and all kept on top of a desk and well ventilated. All were replaced under warranty, when the 3rd one arrived. I decided to place it in the vertical position. It has been over a year and it is still running strong with no problems. I even forgot to turn it off and left it running for over 24 hrs
. When I came back on Sunday, I thought it was dead for sure. But it's all good

It seems the 360 has better games but isn't reliable.
