Music Debate: Other than Redman, which rapper had 3 classic in a row starting out?

I would count the ep

Yep:

I don't know...

Ghetto Music...a undisputed CLASSIC album?

that is a very very good debate...

I MIGHT have to agree.

BROTHER,

How old are you?

GHETTO MUSIC...A BLUEPRINT TO HIP-HOP was, is, still and will always be a CLASSIC FUCKING HIP-HOP albums.

When released KRS stated this was going to be a more fun, party not so serious album.

This mutha fucka was powerful, creative and political:
  • new flows and styles
  • new creative samples and beats
  • theme for the Movie "I'M GONE GET YOU SUCKER"..."JACK OF SPADES"
KRS dropped the real BLUE PRINT what jay-z did was BS (bothersome stuff)!

damn man I said I AGREE

i guess dudes is right, you can't have no music debate on here!

I had to listen to it AGAIN

cause HONESTLY when the last time YOU played that album straight through?

yo can't just go on memory and emotions from the TIME...

I like to go back and see if it STILL holds up, can it still illicit the same feelings.

did the MAJORITY of the tracks bang...

did the ALBUM (which really doesn't even EXIST anymore in the traditional sense)
flow from track to track...

GHETTO MUSIC THE BLUEPRINT TO HIP-HOP will be a "CLASSIC" until the last person who really understands HIP-HOP dies.

Cause these young and old other mutha fuckas have no idea.

Then you gone hear the Migos, Nippsey Hussle, Drake and Kendrick Lamar got classic albums.

you make a good point..

but I can't go to my little nephews and cousins and say well your music sucks those aint classics...

Cause to THE by THEIR standards? they MIGHT be...K Dot go a STRONG case.

But even diehard fans aint calling no Migos mixtape CLASSIC

it is OUR responsibility to give the youth the foundation to be able to make their own informed opinion...

you acting like when Branford tried to merge hip hop and jazz he didn't get KILLED

but with Gangstarr spawned and entire new GENRE of music that had to be judged entirely on its OWN merits.

hell even Miles experimented and got backlash...

but your right about one thing...

there are records and albums that are undeniable the true blueprint to ALL hip hop nee MODERN MUSIC period.

Biggie...
Even though he only had 2 studio LPs
Could you even imagine a THIRD Biggie LP???

Listen...

Biggie is the ultimate.

no question

but that is cheating.

But We can safely ASSUME that would be the case and the double album would by the NUMBERS count but naw...we can't do that.

But I wish on EVERYTHING we could have given that gift.

hmmmm tough one here.

man Spice 1.....HEAT

187 He wrote, started to tail off...started to veer to hard in repping parts of the bay he was not from

America's was pretty average and he was pretty much done at that point. I'd say no
Spice 1

-Spice 1
-187 He Wrote
-Amerikkka's Nightmare

Now the first two are undoubtedly classics in terms of str8 G, murder records. I throwing Amerikkka's Nightmare on there mainly because it had two epic 90's collabos; 'Jealous Got Me Strapped'w/ 2Pac and 'Hard To Kill'. Rest of the album was damn solid and was Spice's first real "mainstream" album IMO.

I listen to this album ALL the time, he had boom bap, , anti cop-teaching, harmonizing about world peace and shit, beat boxing, Jamaican chanting, movie hit song, playful songs, conscience shit...man that album is perfect.

Throw the remixes on there for fun, from the 12"'s and imo it's pushing top 20 hip hop albums of all time.

That album is Mos Def Black on Both sides before Mos was even born. It was the miseducation of LH,before anyone thought of the figures. Global reaching hip hop, mixing cultures and cultural teaxhings, straight from NY...

Define classic.

Does it have to still bang if played today?

ideally...

I think staying power while not a REQUIREMENT

is important in the final equation.

it was SUPPOSED TO BE ONLY SOLO acts but with bgol

Outkast, Redman, PE albums STILL play perfectly...

but I actually had a Tribe die hard fan who had a real SOLID argument AGAINST Tribe's FIRST ALBUM...

:eek2::eek2::eek2:

and I almost got into a damn fist fight

but when we actually PLAYED it?

I disagreed

but I wasn't as SURE as I was initially

that is why I said before you type something take an hour to actually go back and listen to an album from start to finish.

and THEN come back...

cause if you aint listen to a particular album in YEARS...in THIS day and age when its only a click away?

that is saying something about the album.

Like I dont know if the brother REALLY listens to BDP like that

that's a question only HE can answer

but I know I sure as hell haven't.

But I listened to Tribe Outkast Heavy D Casual and Wu tang albums STRAIGHT thru just last week.

You all are forgetting one who did it but not known for his skill! He did three different concept albums back to back...all different and did not have to change up his flow: HEAVY D

PEACEFUL JOURNEY
BLUE FUNK
NUTTIN BUT LOVE

- Ice Cube is the bar IMO 88 - 93 he had the Midas touch

SOC, Kill at Will, Amerikkas Most....no argument

Predator was dropped with the back drop of the Riots....different time now but in that context Cube brought it

Lethal Injection...no argument.

YES.

Gotta go with Eminem

i aint no hater...I like homeboy music and defend him routinely...

but no.

NOPE.

Cause if you want to be REAL?

You gotta include Infinite

and that aint no classic

so that's where he lost.

now the next 3 are the BEST selling rap albums of all time right?

OK but that doesn't make them a classic.

Slim Shady...that had some HITS...MONSTER HITS

but if you got records on there Eminem himself REFUSES to PERFORM?

Can't give it to you.

Eminem Show is dope...

and I feel like the as Brothers don't get enough credit for their production cause EVERYONE concentrates on Dre.

But as GREAT as it is? Its uneven.

Marshall Mathers LP is my favorite and the one I will say is classic material across the board.

BDP - Original Lyrics

I am the manifestation of study
NOT, the manifestation of money
Therefore I advance through thought
Not what's manufactured and bought
Concentration, and calculation
Goes into every song creation
The first and second album rocked you
Third album made you think and got through
Didn't you think I knew?
Number three, wasn't for the dance crew
But it gave me a chance to see
Who was REALLY down with BDP

Yeah... kinda thought about his ass being white
aight.... umm!

son WHAT!!!

I always rep Krit!!!!

But you saying all 3 CLASSIC CLASSIC CLASSIC???

As good as if not BETTER than Redman's FIRST 3?

cause that is the standard we going by cuz.

I'm just fucking with you mayne, them Krit albums are classics to me because they are all phenomenal albums and they flow together.

Krit Was Here: The struggle of rapper trying to get on and get a deal, if he didn't make it then he was going to quit rapping after Krit was here.

Return of 4eva: Sort of a celebration for finally being heard and getting a major deal after the critically acclaimed Krit Was Here.

4eva N a Day: Dealing with the fame and the issues that a major label is giving him while making his first major label album while telling the story of a day in his life. A dope concept that was put out 6 months before GKMC that had the same concept of telling chronological story in the tracks. Plus no guest appearances and great production with live instrumentation.
