My boys... For those who don't know... They come from Lamar Odom's hood... I known these dudes since I was 13... And please understand... It was way more of them than just those 4 dudes... Lost Boys started as a crew of around 8 or 9 dudes then the younger guys took and made it a gang. I got a lot of history with Mr. Cheeks and his cousin, Jay Raff... And my boy, Ralou aka Pretty Lou. Rest in Paradise, Freaky Tah.
sadly hip hop is filled with way too many deaths and tragedies
but for me Freaky Tah murder is something that was especially significant
His membership of the group to me was so damn unique and as much as Flav birthed the modern hype man?
Freaky birthed a different dynamic
He danced and rapped and brought such a singular energy and dynamic to that group that without him?
It just was DIFFERENT.
and they are kinda FORGOTTEN... but they had a MASSIVE STRING of hits in a VERY relative short span.
And I feel like Mr. Cheeks if he different management and emotionally given time to properly grieve his damn near twin

Original Lost Boyz member since ‘86. The original crew you are talking about are the top 10 LB’z. When we say 1,000 ghettos deep it’s truly what it means. It started on the Lincoln Park side but truly took shape when Tah moved to Guy Brewer
Tah was the glue that held the family together. His energy was something different. He had a plan to put all the other talented members of the fam out so the world could know that it was more than just them 4 that had talent. LB could’ve been similar to the Wu as far as having mad artists come outta one camp. He’s missed by all of us. Kept us on a path to greatness. As far as Cheeks, got nothing but love for him but he made a lot of bad decisions and it stifled his career

SIDEBAR: The funny thing is... In Queens back then... You had dudes that were down with major crews that were INFAMOUS for knowing martial Arts. Lost Boys had Van Dam. Queensbridge had a dude named Karate Joe or something like that... AND Lefrak had my boy, Killa Kai aka Karate Kai.
I knew Van Dam and Kai but I only heard of Karate from QB through the grapevine but they were all known for kicking a nigga head off or some crazy shit like that.
