MR. ROBOT Official Discussion Thread (New Season starts Oct.6)

I'm still not sure about Mr. Robot. What about the bartender? I suppose the evidence is pointing to him being in Elliot's imagination but there are a few discrepancies.

Bartender never speaks to him or serves him...

and look at his reaction when Elliot orders an apple-tini..like its the FIRST TIME someone ordered it...

if Mr. Robot existed he would have made some mention or motion to the fact that he just ordered the same drink.

And IF Mr. Robot dint exist entirely in his mind...bartender would have asked if Elliot wanted the SAME or a refill.

They'll show a picture of elliot's dead dad next season and it will be Mr.Robot.

so this is the first episode where we are TOLD everything happening is in his head for large portions of the episode...

notice how they DELIBERATELY made the blonde haired d-boy talk to Mr. Robot.

And then we learn it is entirely a hallucination.

I like that they are starting to connect everyone in Elliot's circle.

Dark Army, the individual hackers in fsociety

the in jokes

* when Mr. Robot yells what about Blowing it Up!

No one jumps turns or reacts...

the Indian girl just turns and looks at Elliot.

Mr. Robot is definitely Elliot's imaginary friend/alternate personality. Half the last episode took place inside homeboy's mind and the shit was starting to get annoying. I don't need 30 minutes of heroin and delirium tremens fueled hallucinations to understand how fucked up his mental is.
The pilot episode showed Elliot as a troubled yet functional genius-level hacker with some drug use. Now we're moving to full-on junkie having a psychotic break with the onset of dissociative personality disorder.
Personally, I've got nothing against the drug use, the gay sex scene, or the lesbian make-out scene. But I'm starting to feel like it's all being used purely for shock value rather than a means to propel the story.

Why do we care what the 2 hacker chicks are doing? The muslim, girl is boring as fuck. The creepy goth chick is only interesting when she's irritating/interacting with Elliot. Their little side quest doesn't seem worthy of that much screen time.

Yeah that entire last episode was unnecessary. Filler.

Yeah it was but I think it was to give the other third tier characters something to do...

And supposedly "confuse" the audience

And did introduce some side stories.

So it wasn't horrible but unnecessary.

They got to keep the number up cause they already got renewed and probably thinking DVD sets, streaming, marathons etc.

I'm convinced...this ninja at home high as fuck having schitzo episodes.

Evil corp, the hacker group all of it in his head.

This dude living in the matrix (imaginary world). Even the green color of the world the same.

The only people who are likely real are the people he work with and those they react with.

The last episode was named Daemons.

computer programs that runs as a background process, rather than being under the direct control of an interactive user.

Interested to see where they end up with this though.

Ok, so somewhere between last week and this week, Christian Slater's character became a real person. Other than when Elliot was high last week, no one ever acknowledged when dude was in the room. Now all of a sudden, he's interacting with the rest of the cast.
I'm confused now.
More importantly, if Mr. Robot is real, this show just became boring as fuck.

he interacted wit the chick when Elliot was in the corner so it's really Elliot interacting with her, and in the van no one talked to him or even looked at him

Yeah and we the viewers are only seeing the conversations through elliot's fucked up head. The way he envisioned it happened.

Mr. Robot was interacting with other characters when Elliot wasn't there. I think it's safe to conclude he is a real person. The episode before last night was slightly tedious but I've seen that type of thing before with other series. It usually lays the groundwork for other story arcs and fills in some blanks. Last nights episode opened up some interesting story lines. The whole mountain infiltration was way too easy though and had no suspense whatever.

What other characters did he interact with? Did the characters actually talk to him? If you're talking about the coffee shop nah.

Mr Robot = Tyler Durden

this is Hacker Fight Club - which is a good thing because any iteration of Fight Club is a good thing

In the scene with Elliot and Bill the guy giving him the tour there are things Mr.Robot was saying and knew about Elliot only Elliot would know. Like how verbally abusive his mother was to him. In the van the other two guys ignore the shit outta Mr.Robot how would you have someone behind you wildin and never once look back at them. Why do I have a small feeling that Tyrell Wellick is (White Rose) or a part of the dark army.

Mr Robot was probably a toy he had as a kid that he would talk to - his father probably gave it to him and his mother threw it away - so this is some suppressed shit going on -

At the end of the Show (or season) we will see a Robot Toy sitting on a shelf somewhere - tying this all together -

Toy Story meets hackers meets Fight Club

To me just like in fight club and sixth sense that will be THE scene the 2 other hacker guys look at ELLIOT for instructions even though it was supposed to be mr. Robot giving orders.

Great show...
watched the marathon on syfy.
excellent show.
u laughed a few times because thanks to bgol I was able to actually follow all the hacking stuff
and I love the speeches...
surprised advertisers dont mind

This is going to be fight club for tech generation
great acting across the board.
every episode has a big budget movie feel

Didn't like them messing up the train station in the first episode...that ain't the Q stop.

Big Co sign fam.

Last nights episode was another winner.....

That scene in the bathroom... Man Dude is a fucking pimp and his wife is just as cruel. I'm loving this shit.

I also love how they are playing with your expectations of this Mr. Robot character.

How can you dismiss the coffee shop? And he gave direct orders to the two guys when they were on mission. Also when they were at Coney Island he talked to all of them. Now, the story may very well advance to him being in Elliott's mind, after all other shows have made and ignored linear mistakes in the story-line before, but let's not ignore the facts.

You said "when Elliot wasn't there" when was that? Elliot was at the coffee shop is all I was saying. When did he talk to a character and they talk back when Elliot wasn't there? I think they just try to make it seem like he's real because he's real in Elliot's head.

yeah im callin bullshit until they show him without elliot talking to other characters like when the muslim chick and the hacker girl went on their own mission

Side note... Have they shown where Elliot and Mr Robot talk to the same character at the same time? Even last night... When Mr robot talked to another character, Elliot was always in the background or slightly out of frame. It was almost a complete reversal from last weeks episode. Just look at the end, when Mr Robot tried to stop Ol girl from unleashing the hack on Stone Mountain. Fuck I need to go back and rewatch some episodes. This shit is amazing.
