Mr Magic no limit records died?

Their production is what got them over. Beats by the Pound made great tracks for subpar artists. It was no surprise the label fell off when they left.

True. I thought there best rappers were mystikal, fiend and c murder.

No Limit Records recording artist Mr. Magic and his wife reportedly died in a car accident last night in Mississippi. The silver lining? Magic's daughter reportedly survived the wreck.

The Ninth-Ward New Orleans rapper released four solo albums; the first three of them on No Limit, and the final one, On My Own, on Koch Records. His debut album, Sky's the Limit, drew some national attention, landing at #15 on the Billboard 200 when it was released in 1998.

He was also known as one-third of the Body Head Bangerz, alongside fellow No Limit alumnus Choppa and rapper/boxer Roy Jones, Jr. Condolences to Magic and his family.

I was on Nolimit hard back in tha day.Soundtrack to my high school days.

My cuz'n put me on to them around the time Heaven for a Gangsta dropped  I still remember dude just yelling "Uhhhhhhhhhh" in the middle of the kitchen outta nowhere when the video came on  I was still in college around that time

How many classics can you name from them on THAT label??

Won;t speak on Fiend as I never heard of him (and will not google him). I never liked Mystikal, but his biggest hit (Here I GO) was NOT on NL.

No offense, but if you are not really a fan of no limit and have never heard of Fiend, what's the point of speaking on it at all? Nothing would really be a classic to you. And Mystikals biggest hit was Shake your Ass..also not on NL. The best rappers lyrically on NL were Mia X and Mystikal. Neither will get that credit because she is a chick and Mystikal's delivery won't get a true listen from people that call themselves real hip hop heads because of the screaming.

The New Orleans rapper and his wife were both killed in a car accident in Mississippi on Friday.

Complex has reported that former No Limit rapper Mr. Magic, aka Awood Johnson, was killed in a car accident in Mississippi on Friday at the age of 45. His wife was also killed in the crash, but their daughter, who was riding with them at the time, thankfully survived. There are no other details at this time.

Johnson, who hailed from New Orleans' Ninth Ward, was known for his run with No Limit in the late '90s, having first appeared on C-Murder's 1998 single "Picture Me". His debut album Sky's The Limit dropped that same year, and reached #15 on the Billboard 200. He released two other albums with No Limit, Thuggin' and White Eyes, and a final record with Koch in 2003 titled On My Own. He was also a member of former heavyweight boxing champion Roy Jones Jr.'s Body Head Bangerz group with fellow No Limit rapper Choppa. Although he hadn't been active in the music scene since BHB's 2004 album Volume One, he started his own label called Banx Entertainment in 2011.

Silkk The Shocker, one of Johnson's No Limit affiliates, tweeted his condolences via Twitter: "Prayers go to the Family and Friends of Mr. Magic. Him and Wife died in a car accident last night."

Our condolences go out to Magic's friends and family as well.
