The one from a few years ago was Disney doing a remake of their version. But this one was directed by Andy Serkis the guy who does a lot of the motion capture work in popular films (Gollum, Planet of the Apes, King Kong) and played Klaw in Black Panther. It was supposed to come out in theaters but because the Disney version was so popular the studio decided to sell it to Netflix.
