You should checkout Radio Flyer with Elijah Woods

That's a good one. I remember seeing it in the theater as a kid ...

Radio Flyer is a 1992 American drama-fantasy film directed by Richard Donner and written by David Mickey Evans. It stars Lorraine Bracco, John Heard, Elijah Wood, Joseph Mazzello, Adam Baldwin and Ben Johnson. Evans was to make his directorial debut on the film but was replaced by Donner. Michael Douglas and Evans were executive producers. Filming locations included Novato, California, and Columbia Airport in Columbia, California.

Solid list!

That is a very solid list. I've seen everything except for Radio Flyer and A River Runs Through It. I really love the frequency, I have to download that movie again because I enjoyed it. I will download a river runs through it as well as Radio Flyer today

I've got thousands of movies on my hard drive and I refuse to watch bad quality movies. So whenever I want to watch something and I see that it's a DVD RIP or HD Rip I go and download a better version

You should see the high-quality copy of Casablanca I just downloaded

Most of my movies are Blu-ray Rips, so much so that I'm out of space on my main 5TB

I just love movies, movies that make you feel or think or even cry.

If you have all these on your computer you should look into a synology nas. Small lower power nas that you can stream movies in or away from home. Has advanced features such as vpn, and hard drive redundancy etc.

Already use a VPN but how is this better than an external hard drive other than maybe a possibility of streaming from it vs having to connect the external hard drive directly into my TV

Tell me more about it

Oh yeah, I'm watching Radio Flyer now and I have seen it before

Its basically a server you can use to backup your computer, stream movies, use as your own personal cloud. A lot of people use them as a dropbox replacement so they are in control of their data

I liked this movie, I think I like it more looking back at it than I did watching it, because the way they did it was interesting. Especially considering the topic of believing women is prevalent.

It's well over two hours and at times it got sort of redundant, got kind of slow...especially the first act, because you didn't know where it was headed. It makes sense as the movie goes on and I found the second and third acts more interesting. I'll probably go back eventually and watch it again as a whole.

Probably not for everyone, but I've been looking forward to this movie for a while.

INJUSTICE

True justice.....who decides?

Praise : I was kind of shocked but thrilled by the intense story threads in this DC animated film about an alternate Earth, in wich the Joker tricks Superman into killing Lois Lane, which sends the hero on a path of destruction. A lot of it reminded me of the great Infinite Crisis series and the stories of the alternate universes of Earth 3 or Earth-148.
A good tale of morality and who polices the world and if anyone has the right to.
Great action sequences and a tons of popular DC characters added to the fun.
Great enthusiastic voicework by the entire cast.

Problems : For such a thoroughly intense film I thought the ending was kind of lackluster.

Scale of 1 to 10 an 8½

Halloween Kills

Hilarious Halloween Hijinks

Praise : I have to praise Jamie Lee Curtis for maintaining her role as Laurie Strode for the past 40 plus years and sure by now she's ½being paid really well and her back end percentage is probably mind blowing but her ability to keep a straight face through this deserves an ovation .The story this time around is about Michael Myers escaping from Laurie Strode's trap to continue his ritual bloodbath. Injured and taken to the hospital, Laurie fights through the pain as she inspires residents of Haddonfield
There are some great kills and some are definitely not for the faint of heart and I actually enjoyed some of the situations the characters found themselves in.

PROBLEMS: About 20 minutes in I knew this was just going to be a semi mediocre experience. This was mainly weak and silly. Some characters actually stand around or meander and wait to get taken out by the seemingly invincible Michael Meyers. I kept saying wow who wrote and structured this film. Anything that was supposed to be serious was laughable because of the actions of the characters and what they did to each other and to themselves a lot of over acting. The visuals of the chanting townspeople determined to take out Meyers......HILARIOUS. It was just to funny because it was as if the characters were saying ohhh when will it be my turn to be killed by Meyers?

Watched the Bourdain documentary earlier in the week. Interesting hearing about his introverted nature, and him addressing agoraphobia nearing the end of his life. Especially being an internationally known public figure whose job had them travelling for some 8 months out of the year.

Seeing how his career really took off post-Kitchen Confidential, etc.

This was a straight up b movie, that was pretty ass and cheaply done, but wasn't all that entertaining. It had gory deaths, when they could have been cool or creative. It seemed quickly thrown together. I hope the next one is better.

That being said, I did sort of like the last 15 minutes.

I liked it, but it's sort of incomplete, because it needs to be a series. I don't even see how they can finish it in a part two. It seems like it could be a whole universe. It seems more like LOTR or Star Wars.

I didn't think I would like it so much, because Blade Runner 2049 was ehhhh to me. Maybe I need to see it again, but that movie bored the shit out of me. This kept me engaged for what was going to happen next.

It's dope visually to look at. I hope it does well and we get a part two.

Local service provider is currently doing a free week preview of Shudder from Oct. 21st - 28th. Been skimming over their catalogue and checking portions of their older catalogue & some of the original content. Looks pretty good.

Yes ... checked out some of the titties from the Slumber Party Massacre movies from 1982 and 1987. Just because.

I hope this is good enough.

It explains why it was so crowded Friday, all the nerds were there Thursday and Friday early...and it probably fell off through Saturday and Sunday

I heard there's been talks of a prequel series also.

Going to be interesting to see how it all plays out for this movie, the Bond one, and a few others.

It's confusing now with movies & TV ... even the critics & media aren't sure how well stuff is performing with all the various streaming platforms, VOD, limited theater release, etc. Or when the streamers will count something as an episode view (even if someone just tuned in for a few minutes).

Because of that besides the movies, I'll also randomly stream it. I see streaming might at least make them have a new Sopranos series.

Might go see this again, this time in IMAX. Because of the length of these movies these joints are spaced apart and I saw Dolby instead.

Going to probably watch Dune in the next few days.

Might see Bond on the big screen in early-December. Have some vac' time then. Aunt says she wants to see it (caught a few of the previous Bond movies with her). She's cool as fuck. Took me to Boyz N the Hood as a kid. To bball games as a teenager (long live the Grizzlies), etc. She works at some of the downtown venues (Orpheum, QE Theater, Vancouver Playhouse). Free concert tickets for family members over the decades.

This is a Sci-Fi flick recently put up on HBO that I watched recently from a recording.

The premise has been done a number of times thru-out the years, with this they put a new spin on it.

The movie somewhat follows the classic novel/film "The Lord Of The Flies". If you are familiar with that novel, this film follows closely to some degree.

All story and character development is done within the first 10 minutes of the film, from there it plays out with a steady pace until the last scene.

A lot of how things play out will come off predictable, what will keep you watching is if their mission will be completed or will be a failure.

Synopsis

With the future of the human race at stake, a group of young men and women -- bred for intelligence and obedience -- embark on an expedition to colonize a distant planet. When they uncover disturbing secrets about the mission, they defy their training and begin to explore their most primitive natures. As life on the ship descends into chaos, they soon become consumed by fear, lust and an insatiable hunger for power.

DUNE

SPICE WARS !!

PRAISE: The 1984 film version of DUNE was an ambitious ,interesting, ponderous, oddity.
Under the great direction of Denis Villeneuve and an enthusiastic and on point cast including : Timothee Chalamet, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgård, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Jason Momoa, Zendaya, Oscar Isaac, Rebecca Ferguson, and Charlotte Rampling This story about Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people story threads of
war, uneasy alliances, betrayal and destiny has been made more comprehensive without diluting the strengths of the story. It's enhanced by great SFX, sound and action sequences.
Visually it's a mesmerizing experience.

PROBLEMS: The film does stall at times.I wondered why the nice flow of the movie went down disruptive paths.
I was looking for more from certain characters and unfortunately I didn't get it.

In the end Villeneuve and crew left me wanting more and that's a good thing

Saw Colin Farrell most recently in the limited series The North Water.

Hell of a role for him. It's a quick watch at 5 - 6 eps.

If you've seen it (or plan to see it) and like it ... definitely check out season 1 of The Terror on AMC from some years back.

Similar vibe and look. Both suspenseful.

Visually it's an absolute 10. The pacing was SLOOOOW. Check out Dune: The Alternative Edition Redux, it's a better revision than this 2021 version.

New flick recently put up on Netflix.

It’s a ok movie to watch with the family. Simple, non complicated story to understand. For children it might be best if they are over the age of 10 watching it, due to the subject matter of the mother’s illness with how they show it and how the movie ends. Questions will be asked after the end of the movie with them not fully understanding what happens.

For the militants….there is a lot about this movie that will upset you… note the following…

1. The film is Executive Produced by Oprah Winfrey

2. The film is produced/directed by actor David Oyewelo who co-stars. His real life wife (who is white), co-stars as the librarian.

3. David and Rosario Dawson are in a inter-ethnic marriage. Rosario is in the movie decked out in Kente style clothing looking like she just stepped off the boat from Ghana.

4. If you object to Rev. Martin Luther Kings “I Have A Dream” speech, the young boy and his white female friends relationship is based around his speech. Nothing romantic about their friendship.

Synopsis

Desperate to save his sick mother, an 11-year-old ventures into the remote Wild Horse forest to search for a mythical figure rumoured to have the power to cheat death.
