The Last Full Measure

It covers trying to get someone the Medal of Honor against a clock. Not spoiling that part.

This was probably Peter Fonda's last role, and it was a hell of a way to go out.

I vaguely knew what this was about and I like that, because too often trailers spoil movies for me. I don't remember seeing a trailer for this before a movie, and I see a lot of movies. I have seen some TV ads, so they did attempt to promote it some.

This probably covered PTSD from war better than anything I've seen. It was deep.

I needed this to escape from the Kobe news, it put things in perspective about the pain we don't see.

Is this really filmmaking?

PRAISE: Even with the lukewarm acting i got pulled into the story of Grace Waters (Crystal Fox) facing life in prison for the murder of her husband. Jasmine Bryant (Bresha Webb) a public defender who decides to do the foot work to prove Water's innocence brings enough enthusiasm to her mission to keep my interest.
I think Director Tyler Perry is able to pull off a good start to his stories at times.
I found the blatant coldness, and arrogance of one of the characters to be absolutely hilarious.

PROBLEMS: Aside from huge plotholes that are deeper than the Grand Canyon especially concerning lawyers, the banking industry, court room evidence and defending a client Perry pushes the movie to off the rails territory and expects the audience to accept the craziest of twists and turns and lack of common sense.Using the same recycled actors from his unintentionally funny and schizophrenic tv shows.Oh and those obvious visual gaffes....i mean who's in the editing room? Did Perry or his film editors fall asleep? ...oh yes i could definitely tell this was filmed in 5 days and i wont even go into detail on how cheap the movie looks !!
Ive enjoyed some of Perry's films but his last 4 show he doesnt care he has his fan base that will just accept whatever he puts out !!

The Man from Nowhere (Korean: 아저씨; RR: Ajeossi) (English: Mister) is a 2010 South Korean action thriller film starring Won Bin and written and directed by Lee Jeong-beom. It was South Korea's highest grossing film in 2010 and had 6.2 million admissions.[2] The film was released in the United States and Canada on October 1, 2010. The film follows the story of a mysterious and shady man (Won Bin) who embarks on a bloody rampage ...

Rocky Handsome, an official Indian remake starring John Abraham, was released in 2016.[5]

Checked out Zombieland 2 & The Last Full Measure in recent days.

Thankfully Zombieland was better than expected. Funny character addition with the blonde for comic relief. Also had to lol @ the forms of transportation in the movie. Don't want to list them as they'd be mild spoilers.

Hell of a cast in The Last Full Measure. Christopher Plummer, Diane Ladd, Ed Harris, Samuel L Jackson, William Hurt, John Savage, Sebastian Stan, the late Peter Fonda, etc. Good to see PTSD examined 30+ years later.

Below her mouth(Netflix)

I liked this movie a lot. Because it is about one of my favorite porn generas lesbians. And there is a lot of lesbian action in this movie. The story is nothing original, but I think its well worth a watch. I would highly recommend this movie. :sleazy:

Pierre Jackson(Netflix)

This was also another solid movie I saw today. The acting, story, and filming of this film is on point. Not some low budget bullshit with wack acting.
I also would reccomend this movie also.

Raging Bull(Netflix)

Ive always heard of this movie as a kid and teenager and adult. But never checked this movie out. In the beginning of the year while scrolling through Netflix. I saw they had this, then added it to my list. So I finally watched it today. And this was another good movie I watched today.

Side Piece(Amazon prime)

One of the actors actually has a song by the same name of this movie. This is a very low budget movie. But it is ok for what it is , this definitely will not be everyone's cup of tea.

IP Man 2

I found myself not rewally liking this movie that much. I know I liked this first movie, but this movie was only alright.

 Yeah there were background characters starring directing into the cameras in the diner scene. Tyler need to hire writers, because he is writing the same damn movie over and over.

:hmm:

This was some bullshit

This chick went from a crack head to a trained assassin in a month. How and why didn't matter.

This joint has so many plot holes and characters I didn't care about, I stopped caring and fell asleep for a bit.

Even the chase scene sucked. It looked like the slowest chase scene ever. Like they could have been on skateboards and gone faster.

Anna was a whole hell of a lot better than this.

Now this was a typical January movie.

Caught this documentary the other day. Interesting watch given the calm nature of the subject (with spyglasses on) as she interacts with the owner/operator & masseuses. It's just over an hour in length. Hsiao Hung Pai does a good job in remaining calm and explaining what she's dealing with while undercover. Her mood, self-esteem & emotional state as she explains how the woman running the show is steadily trying to break her.

Embedded it in Youtube format below ...

"London is home to an estimated 2,000 brothels, and 80 percent of the prostitutes are foreigners, most of them illegal. This film was shot quite literally from the viewpoint of undercover reporter Hsiao Hung Pai, who worked illegally as a cleaner in a claustrophobic brothel for several weeks and used spy camera glasses to record the goings on there – while coming under increasing pressure to prostitute herself. This intensely subjective approach means the film offers unusually personal insight into what drives undocumented Asian immigrants to become prostitutes, into the inhuman conditions in which they live, and especially into how inexperienced women are drawn into the world of the brothel. Comments such as "A blow job without a condom is normal" and "You will eventually lose your self-esteem" stand in stark contrast to the sugary-sweet Chinese feel-good music on the soundtrack. The film consists predominantly of diary-like reports accompanied by Hsiao’s voiceover, conversations with prostitutes and pimps in the brothel, and scenes of the women preparing to receive their clients, who appear and disappear in the stairwell. In intermezzos we see Hsiao handing over rushes to director Nick Broomfield, often seated in a car where they briefly discuss the state of affairs."

a retro review of one of my favorites

PRAISE: Sometimes i forget how great some movies are until i channel surf and boom there's a favorite and the clicker is put down

Gregory Hines and Billy Crystal had incredible chemistry and comic timing.Loved the running gag with Hines consistently and constantly "arresting" the lovely Tracy Reed so they could spend time together. One of those films that really needed a sequel because it would have been great to see the two leads collaborate again.Plus Michael McDonald singing Sweet Freedom....

PROBLEMS: NONE

How was the Harley Quinn flick?
I just got back from watching the film

Start off Margot Robbie plays and incredible Harley Quinn. Feels like she is pulled directly from the comics, her gestures and smiles are spot on. The choreography for the fight scenes are almost comic style perfection. But its DC and they want to talk and add extra uselessness thats not necessary. I went to the 10am show and only about 10 people in the Dolby room. Heard a dude snoring.

The movie is everywhere but its being told by a psychopath so it kind of makes sense. I wanted more from the villain, he was just there and not much of threat. Reading reviews I don't see the anti male issue, I think people are just getting to caught up with feminism and I didnt see it. Its a female led movie who do you expect to be winning fights. Some say it tried to be Deadpool but I dont see that, again she is a psychopath so is Deadpool.

If you are expecting the Birds of Prey prob have to wait for a sequel, they are not used enough. But good to see Rosie big ol titties bust out once.

I enjoyed it mainly for the action. I will prob Youtube the fight scenes vs rewatching the movie, though. The hyena was not used enough, I know but if you put a hyena in a movie I want more interaction. Go enjoy with a comic book mindset.

No post credit.

Birds of Prey

DC's found it's niche

By producing entertaining flicks and not trying to be Marvel. The film looks great, especially in dolby. With how colorful it is

I thought Wonder Woman was overrated, but I liked this like I did Shazaam and Aquaman.

Margot Robbie is perfect for the role. It makes you overlook things. The action is cool and there's a lot of it. The villain isn't hashed out. I still don't know why he did a lot of stuff.

It's a comic book movie, fun.

It hasn't gotten the universe aspect right, but they have proven they can make solid movies.

DC needs to focus on her, they don't even need Batman or Joker in her movies she held it down with no problems. The villain was a main issue. But reading reviews they are raving how well Obi-Wan did.

Thanks for the review. If you haven't had a chance to see this one, check it out. Saw it a few years back. Really good dramatic / volatile performances from her & Janney.

Glancing at the cast list now, I hadn't previously realized Sebastian Stan was in it (I, Tonya). He was the lead in The Last Full Measure. Checked that one out last week.

I, Tonya is a 2017 American biographical comedy-drama film directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Steven Rogers. It follows the life of figure skater Tonya Harding and her connection to the 1994 attack on her rival Nancy Kerrigan. The film states that it is based on "contradictory" and "true" interviews with Tonya Harding and her ex-husband Jeff Gillooly, suggesting they are unreliable narrators.[5] It features darkly comedic interviews with the characters in mockumentary-style, set in the modern day, and breaks the fourth wall. Margot Robbie (who also co-produced) stars as Harding, Sebastian Stan plays Harding's husband Jeff Gillooly, and Allison Janney plays Harding's mother LaVona Golden. Julianne Nicholson, Caitlin Carver, Paul Walter Hauser, and Bobby Cannavale also star.

Loosely based on actual events, the movie depicts Harding as a victim, ignoring the evidence that implicated her criminally, as well as other criticism of her actions.[6][7] I, Tonya premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, 2017, and was theatrically released in the United States on December 8, 2017, and grossed $53.9 million worldwide on an $11 million budget. It received positive reviews, with praise for Robbie and Janney's performances.

At the 90th Academy Awards, Janney won for Best Supporting Actress, while the film also earned nominations for Best Actress for Robbie and Best Film Editing. It earned three nominations at the 75th Golden Globe Awards, winning Best Supporting Actress for Janney,[8] and at the 24th Screen Actors Guild Awards, it won Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for Janney and was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role (Robbie).[9] At the 71st British Academy Film Awards, the film earned five nominations, winning Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Janney.[10]
