Movie Debate: What the hell is going on with 30 MINUTES of TRAILERS at movie theatres?! UPDATE!

Movie theaters lost so much money during covid they needed fast cash when they reopened. They sold ad space to where if a movie is advertised at 7pm the ads begin at 655p or so...trailers start around 715p and the actual movie won't start until around 730p. From what I understand this is the new normal.

I'm actually fine with all that. Just tell me the REAL TIME. That's it That's all.

I got sh*t to do before and after. I can't be estimating some kind of buffer time after spending all this damn money for a movie that may or may not be good. I went to concessions last week and the server actually TOLD ME that's ridiculously expensive and didn't charge for everything. Same thing when I bought the actual TICKETS! I complained awhile back and the manager actually gave me 3 comp tickets because I had to sit there with kids for over 20 minutes and then take them all to the bathroom and THEM missed the beginning of the movie.

I am truly baffled how anyone can DEFEND the theatres giving fake start times.

You can't do THAT then defend bad movies, too many sequels, ticket prices and concession prices.

Its ALL the same experience.

Credit to the manager for the comp' tickets. Nice gesture.

At a certain point it's just like everyone's supposed to expect their time being wasted, and that's not good.

I do NOT blame the STAFF at all. It aint there fault. I think he saw how much money I just spent to see f**king dogman full price in a 20% full theatre and took pity.

Oh yea the trailers didn't start till 10 minutes after the listed start time yesterday lol

I THINK I'm going to get that unlimited pass for my oldest too. I'm going to do the math cause I have it now.

with Fantastic Four Ballerina Thunderbolts Mission Impossible Superman Jurassic World at least.

So that's $20 each I'm trying to make a calendar and see how much this is gonna cost me.

@Helico-pterFunk Imma need a gofundme

Unlimited is worth it to me
Pays for itself with 2 movies a month
I've seen 6 this month with a few more to go

The one benefit to long as trailers and assigned seating is if you're going with a group and there's one late member of your party, they may not miss the start of the movie.

when a consumer is not pleased with his purchase many times it sounds like the consumer needs to find alternatives or stop buying the product completely… they got all these nice big screen TVs, all these recipes online, and these free.com sites out here… sounds like you need a lil bit of patience for clear copies and enjoy movie night at home… 1 of the biggest movie theatre goers I know aka my older bro even crossed over and enjoys watching movies at home now.. Hell in recent months I heard him say something I don’t he never say, “goddamn bunch of these movies suck more than ever I watch these movies and at the end I go thank god I didn’t pay for that shit” my bro
