Movie Debate: What the hell is going on with 30 MINUTES of TRAILERS at movie theatres?! UPDATE!

Forget commercials, what about all the production company logos before a movie..

The people who made Late Night With The Devil mustve seen that episode

Yeah I notice that too. I cant remember what movie I seen recently and the logo were longer than the movie.

I go to the movies enough where I account for the 26 minutes of trailers and Nichole Kidman until the movie starts

A movie that has been out a few weeks normally is between 15-20

He might be joking but that shit is real.
There use to be a time when u late u late. Now u can be late and still have to wait 20 minutes lol.

Bro....and with that shit, people are still fucking late pulling out their phones trying to find their seats :smh:

How are you coming in 15 minutes late? Just got to the next showing. It's 2024, use your damn phone. Are you just showing up at the theater and just picking a random movie?

THEY KEEP.CHECKING MY DAMN BAG@!!
Where the hell you going? Theater I go to don't even have a person checking tickets anymore.

Last week 1 of the Tmobile Tuesday perks was a free large slurpee. Walked in to see the new Bad Boys with my slurpee in hand and about $10 worth of snack for me and the ol lady in my hoodie from the dollar tree that's a couple of buildings down from the movie.

Sounds like big bro @playahaitian prolly hitting people with his walking cane om the way

Man I miss MOVIEPASS.

I'd hit the movies 3 to 4 days a week after work.

Movie theater served full meals like Studio Movie Grill.

I'm watching the whole reel.

Trailers could be better than the movie, but with Moviepass who cared?

The movie studios usually dictate what and how many trailers get played on which movie. The theater chain just agrees cuz the studio can always threaten to pull their movies from them (Disney does it alot). And as far as AMC (I'm sure other chains does something similar) their playlists are pre-built so they have no control over what's on there. They just download and schedule the content.

Trailers are part of the experience
I think it's only people that don't go often that complain.

We not talking just trailers we talking COMMERCIALS.

And trust me we even got professional critics complaining. I hear it every time I go.

Which theatre is your go to?

So you tried 4DX RPX and Screen X?
Never have
I don't want to be jerked around while watching the movie
Plus I get motion sick easy
Screen x is the one on the side walls right ? Not really interested in that either. It depends if the movie was designed for that experience

Screen X with Top gun mission impossible and tenet was dope because they had extra scenes speculation fir that format.

It's a novelty. And only for very specific experiences

RPX is just their version of IMAX

Sidebar... I think Regal unlimited should do more of a discount for members who see those other formats and remove booking fees entirely.
I agree
If you get your ticket at the theater there's no fee but it should be the same in the app.
I pay .54 for each movie I see
Rpx was no upcharge for awhile last year
