As seen in video using these programs, these controls are changed back when it updates which is shady. Google collects your location and websites you visit, check out their activity log.

I have had problems with outright spying, if you want an indicator, Russia and China effectively ban these companies and won't go within a 100 miles. The propaganda is the lack of Windows XP support or censorship for Google, but they know something.

Don't sleep on the AMD chips. They run really nice. I have a nice AMD FX 8350 chip that runs like a champ and it has a VERY reasonable price. I use it in my server.
