Privacy is already comprised by the ISP. I'm not concerned about what MS is trying to do. They do whatever they want, clearly. I turn off updates to minimize resource usages. I'm knit-picky about what process run on my machine. I minimize what processes I run to maximize what I have available.
No more than what you ISP already do. I'm really an avid Linux user, so I have a few things that maximize my security because I run a server from my crib. The university I teach at has a program for network security. I used students from this program to try and hack into my server, but they can never get past my first firewall. I have 3. One is through the raspberry pi.
An OS is always going to have security flaws just browsing the internet. Hell, the browser that you are using has more of a security flaws than the OS you are using. In the end, the ISP is really where your privacy is compromised. I have a really strong network security at my crib, but that is not going to stop virus and malware.
Since I run a home server I have two ports open that is a huge security risk. I have created several scripts withing my system to alert me for attacks on my open ports.
So privacy is not my concern. I have accept that I can't do anything about that. What MS do is not my concern. I use them for convenience. My Linux server is where I get to do whatever I want and secure with my skills of programming.

I use all 3 major OS...no issues with Win 10, but I understand how to research and lock it up. The info is easily accessible.

The interface is pretty basic so go forth and enjoy your Windows 7.

10 had my desktop running slow as fuck went back to 8.1 and it's back to normal speed
That's only for the Win10 annoyware.
10 works great for me. I love it. Just had to update a few drivers...that's been the only issue...which ain't really an issue.

they had the 256 GB SSD option for an extra $200. I opted for the 1TB 5400 cause of the extra capacity, fuck.5400rpm hard drives are a RIPOFF. Vendors are disgusting for continuing to sell that garbage.
7200rpm are a bit better
10,000rpm are expensive.
480GB are now less than $150 now so you could still do it. The worst SSD is better than the best HDD.
Shame they wont let you buy without a hard drive.
From what I was told this program removes more that the nagware. I know on my machine the program ran for better than 5 minutes removing over 57,600 files. I don't think its designed to remove Windows 10 if it has already been installed.

U.S. spyware, both Microsoft and Google use the tactic to bury the controls that turn off data collection for advertising which is code word for spying. No option to just download a version that has this removed period.

Those of us running bootleg copies of Win 7 that Blackls430 put in the board years ago are still running with no updates!
I was one of those people....updated ALL the time too......no problems. Never had to reenter a key or anything. Comfortably running Win 10 on 3 of my PCs, all upgraded (7 to 10) OS from BGOL. Only thing I didnt do was automatic updates. I periodically went in and manually pushed them.

Don't sleep on the AMD chips. They run really nice. I have a nice AMD FX 8350 chip that runs like a champ and it has a VERY reasonable price. I use it in my server.
