most of them werent going in for migraines....some had more serious illnesses.
The University of Chicago, like most hospitals, are known for being a money first...patients second (depending on who you are.) Dont get me wrong....they have a very skilled staff and are well equipped to handle pretty much any type of disease/illness.....but that doesnt mean they cant be crooked also.
I have a cousin thats a RN inside the hospital, and he told me that a lot, but not all, of the staff there are either very ghetto/lazy or very racist with superiority complexes. why would you want someone like that directing you on how to stay healthy?
I also no this is true because the majority of my family has either been hospitalized or stil goes to that hospital on a regular basis. some of the staff there are very nice.....like the primary care doc my moms got. but a good number are ignorant.
but anyways.....
i know the artilce got put out because either someone wanted to stain the Obama name before the elections or because they wanted to take away some of Obamas black votes. i think that fear is making a lot of people blind to the facts.
I know this female that lives very close to the U of C, in the hood though by 65th and cottage grove. Because the U of C no longer accepts patients with no health insurance....she has to go to a clinic way west to get treated for the illnesses that she has. i forgot waht she has exactly...something wrong her uterus. but anyways..... the U of C said shipping these patients off to other facilities wil help those facilities make more money and also shorten the patients wait time for service.
well the clinic they sent my lady freind to had even longer wait times...mainly because most of the clinics in the chi are understaffed and not well equipped. thyeh had to send her to two other clinics because most of the staff there didnt know what to do about the condition she had.
you cant compare a big ass hospital like the U of C to a clinic.
They said in the article that the U of C felt is if they were taking money/patients from Micheal Reese hospital and other neighborhood health facilites.
well......Micheal Reese just shut down. one of the big reasons was because of all the non insured patients they had to attend to...the other reason was because of Olympic greed.
also...they said it wil save patients money. well most of those uninsured people didnt pay shit to begin with. all they paid every once and a while was a $3 charge to get their medicines from walgreens.
theres thousands and thousands of people going through the exact same thing my girl going through.
i live in the hyde park area (which is where the University of chicago and Obamas house is located)....i have family that work in the U of C.
i have a lot of poor uninsured freinds that use to go to the hospital ...but are now assed out and have to ride busses all over chicago to get decent health services.
Michelle Obama is a part of it. shes not the ring leader....but point is she's helping them...and i know this for a fact. yall can come in here and say coon this and coon that all you want. But my point is how are you gonna have a husband thats runnign for president and talking about good health care for all....but then his own wife is going around helping her former employer do shaddy shit and shit on poor folks?

the U of C is basically taken the financial/physical burden off themsevles and people it on other health facilities.
chicago has a some nice clinics here and there ...but theres not many.
this is not a "i support mccain, therefore imma attack obama rant".
i just find shit like this really fucked up and selfish.
im well aware of my cities situations...and im sure Michelle is also.
