And I'd rather have a bigger screen than a smaller one.

Just like I'd rather be looking at a 52 inch TV than a 37 inch.

Sure it can mean revolutionary. It's marketing. Its going to cause other manufacturers to compete and produce better screens and features to match.. because of what Apple has done.

The iPhone 4 is like a fast car with a shitty interior i.e. Corvette. Before you own it you think "Damn that is soooo fly...I would sure love to have one of those". The car comes with little bells and whistles on the outside like a limited edition chrome badge and side scoops but when you get one you realize that the interior (the part you spend all your time with it in) is slightly better than a Chevy Cobalt. In addition, the plastics are cheap, the radio is unintuitive, the seats suck, and the grey coloring of everything just makes it look mediocre. You take a look at the Nissan GT-R and although it has a much more polarizing look it does some how find a way to mix style, performance, and usability together in a way that your Corvette just cannot match. Other Corvette Owners tell you to buy another car if you're not happy but you don't want another car...you want a Corvette with a decent interior. That's all you want Chevy to understand.

I never bought a new model off the same phone. This is the first time really. I always bought new and different phones. Only ones I had multiples of is windows mobile and thats because sprint gave them to me for free.

My question was, isn't that true of any new tech device? You don't have to have purchased a new phone of the same model to know that about other devices. Buy a new DVD player of the same model series, it has a couple of new features over the previous model. Buy the next model printer in a series, it may add a few more DPI and fine tune the color. Buy the next model scanner than the previous model.. a few more features. if the features the new model has is not worth the upgrade to you, then stick with the current model.

That's true but did not think it would be this similar. I came from the 3GS. Like i told my boy that has a 3G he would benefit a lot by getting a iphone. His ships on the 14th. 3G and below i say get it. But for the 3GS i say check it out and see what you think. That's what i did. I can still return it but I chose to use it as a back up phone.

I upgraded from the 3gs and it was worth it to me. I didn't have HD video with the 3gs. Nor did I have 1 Gz processor. The amount RAM was doubled. The screen was improved drastically. The image quality of the camera on the 3gs doesn't even compare to the iPhone 4.

Again, you are victim of your own misinformation. Not many people have the EVO.. and even fewer have 2 smart phones... and the huge majority don't even have a smarphone at all. Most of the iPhone 4 customers were "upgrading"... which is why it's Apple BIGGEST sales pre-order in the history of the iPhone

iPhone 3GS to iPhone 4 is an upgrade. EVO to iPhone 4 is a downgrade which is the entire point. Apple is not keeping up with the current pace of technology.

So don't go from an EVO to an iPhone 4 if you feel it is a downgrade. Apple is doing their OWN thing with the iPhone and the upgrade made a lot of its customers very happy, which is why its the LARGEST ever 1 day sales of any product, and most of them were upgraders.

How can you say they aren't keeping up when they have the best Video of any smartphone and the best display? Is there a smartphone with a higher speed processor? Their battery life is the best (if not, at least in the top 2-3)

It's not the most powerful at all...it's just the most gorgeous.

I want Apple to keep up with the pace of technology so that the iPhone will become more usable. How is it that I cannot tether my iPad to my iPhone but I can with an Android device...makes no sense. All the things I listed Apple is capable of producing but haven't for some reason.

They are.. they have a 1gz proc. HD Video, Front and Rear Cam. 960x640 screen resolution. Digi Camera Zoom, iBooks, Games, Large App Store, Retina Dislay, Face Time...

I can tether my iPhone to 5 different laptops and the speed is pretty decent. I know you want it to happen "out the box" but for now it isn't, sorry.

Jailbreak your phone and then you will be able to tether your iPad. Until then, if you don't want to use that option then you can use an Android...

Look man I'm not going to keep going back and forth with you all day. My point is that the update to the iPhone didn't address all the issues folks have with it. I still cannot hang up my phone during a call if I get a text message or IM without first clicking the modal popup box. I cannot tether a device via WiFi without having to hack my phone thus voiding the warranty. If I want to check the weather I have to look for my weather app, wait for it to load, and then I can see it...there's no quick way to check for things such as that. Cannot have sticky notes on the springboard...you need a todolist app. Cannot customize springboard/lockscreen. Things such as Multitasking and Folders are great but Facetime and Camera Zoom are not nearly as important as making sure iOS is as functional as possible. Why? Because it is not just running on phones anymore. These things may be able to slide on the iPod but on the iPad it is definitely a pain.

what type of phone u got 3g or 3gs? I jailbroke my 3g and got rid of MMS and Visual VM. Im mad as hell and cant find no solution

I had my iPhone jailbroken back when I had 3.1 but upgraded to 4.0 because AT&T said they were going to allow you to tether. What I didn't know is that you couldn't tether to the iPad so now I have to wait for a 4.0 jailbreak since I've already updated. What also sucks about that is that I changed from my unlimited plan to DataPro and now I have a 2GB cap, no tethering, and iOS 4.

Txt msgs are meant to be popup by design.. instant communication. Hit close or view to read it.. then it takes you back to your app.. if you wanna end your call.. just end the call.

If you don;t want to jailbreak to tether, then write to AT&T and and complain. Otherwise get a device that you can do it without jailbreaking.

You don't have to open the weather app to see the weather/temp. The icon tells you the current temp and whether its sunny or not.. if you need more detail, then you open the app.

I don;t like clutter on my screen. That's why I use folders.. If I wanna a note I open my notes app. Sorry you don't like that design. I love it.

Sorry you don't like Face Time.. most of the people commenting on the Forums about it.. love the feature. iOS is functional. It seem you dont like iOS, may I suggest you get an device with an OS you like? I got rid of my shitty Windows computer for that (well one of the reason.. among many) reason... and switched to MAC OS.
