Melyssa Ford badly injured

having been hospitalized and getting a 50k bill i'll say if she got no insurance she'll be fucked.
however car insurance and regular medical insurance should help her out. my bill was knocked down to 10k a month later and then they gave me a 250/mth payment plan.
this brings up the issue with us folks and not planning for emergencies or death, leaving our families or friends to take up our slack. i don't even want my kids worrying about me in old age honestly.

have vehicle insurance, life (term/full) insurance, and a few mths savings because you never know when life will fuck out over.

I follow her on IG. Every post she made for the last so many months before this accident, was her on vacation in a different country. Now she needs us to pay her bills? Ive always loved this broad but, foh Melyssa :smh:
Rough it out like we all would have to.

That's with us making an assumption that she didn't have a "sponsor" footing the bill for her excursions.

damn when you put it that way...

Yep. But then again...

If you can't even get a sponsor to throw you a couple of G's when in need.

I guess pussy is utlitmantly only valuable when you up in it.

....

The game is hard on these chicks and apparently #bosslife is in reference to the dude they associate with.:smh:

*two cents*

I see someone started a gofundme for her. They’ve raised a $21k so far, the goal is 100k:eek2::eek2:.

Man, that's crazy. I remember when those models in ATL fell out the window of the W, same shit happened. Fam started a gofundme.

I'm torn on how i feel. Part of me feels it's a good way to help someone out. The other half of me feels it shouldn't supplement insurance. If you can afford Dubai, you can afford a $50 premium.

Regardless, I hope she bounces back well. Head injuries are no joke and she's blessed to be alive.

Insurance for $50 a month?

“celebrity” isn’t synonymous with wealth.

In Chris Rock's "Good Hair" she talked about how much money she spent on weaves, it was 10's of thousands of dollars. She SHOULD have money.

I really do hope she makes a 100% recovery, but her spending that much on hair without saving a fair amount is financial mismanagement.

Yeah, for most, the system is setup where if you don't have a solid pension plan and health insurance plan for life after 20 years of service in an organization, your ass will be working until you 65 (Medicare) or 70. Some will never be able to retire. It is just another form of control or slavery.

From 50 to 65 are the tough years to survive, health insurance wise. Too young for Medicare, health insurance rises on you, most have a preexisting condition by then, and it is hard to keep or find a permanent job with good benefits at that age.

A lot of my self employed friends with decent business/contractor/ consultant income are looking for permanent jobs now, they chased the money, now they are focusing on the end game and can't see when they can retire without benefits. They sprinted in the first mile of the marathon.

In a marriage, its good that at least one of the spouses has good health and life insurance benefits.

None of this makes sense.
Why is she asking for GoFundMe if you have car insurance. Your coverage will cover her hospital bills to an extent and then her lawsuit (I'm sure she will have one) will cover everything else and will be able to get her her "extra cheese on her cheeseburgers".

Knowing from direct industry peeps who made her what she was way back, she was not a nice person to work with, so not surprised at the amount she got for her GoFundMe.

Yep. Life planning is important. Choosing the correct spouse essential. Pick your spots to “ball out” or play it safe.

She probably only got the bare minimum for car insurance and declined medical payments to keep her bill lower. :smh:

That's cool and all shes ok but I'm not donating shit. Cause all that bedwenching she was doing and never secured the bag? Best of luck to yah shorty.

While I agree with you. You car insurance will only cover what you have up to. Lawsuit will only cover up to what THEY have up to.
It's not unlimited. I'm just tired of people begging every 5 minutes

Yeah I know there are limits on your insurance. But as far as suing the driver and his insurance and possible company, just saying an 18 wheeler carries a lot more coverage than the average car driver on the road.

She should be ok coming out of this. Financially that is.

I said the same as far as the entertainers that she knows not donating. Says a lot.

Glad to see my boo is doing better.

Did you donate? o_O

Never heard of declining medical, that's even possible?

Yes you can decline. Med pay/PIP pays YOUR bills. The legality of buying insurance is concerned paying the other person's bills if you are at fault. All that is required is Liability....

This is true.....and also remember that hospitals negotiate big time just to receive something. When there is insurance involved because of a car wreck, they will consider what is available and adjust their bill accordingly for a full release from any further payments.

But is it even anything significant to even consider declining it? I have one vehicle on my insurance with just liability, the others with comprehensive obviously are more expensive. But just the liability one is about less than $40 and it has medical coverage in it, so I can't believe someone would normally decline that when it's probably only a few dollars a month more.

And I would assume, because you're required to have liability, am sure you have to have medical for the other party, so why decline it for yourself.

Anywho, I'm sure all of this is a moot point. Ms Ford must of had full coverage, cause I'm pretty sure that car is either financed or a lease.

The only state you can drop it is Florida, but you can lower it to the point where it's worthless. I'm going to assume this happened in California, A google search suggests the minimal there is 15/30 (15k bodily injury/30k property damage) Neither is any good except for the most basic claims.

I know plenty of people who were still screwed financially because they were under-insured.
