I gotta aunt that if anything halfway serious happens she is last person you want to break the news to you. She’ll call and start all that “don’t be worried now, everything is gonna be alright, we all gonna get through this” talk before she even says what happened, then she’ll take forever to tell you what happened and when you go see the person she was talking about their situation is never anywhere as serious as she made it out to be. I remember my grandma was real sick and we weren’t expecting her to be with much longer, I had gone to eat lunch with her and when I was leaving to go to work my aunt pulls up, I wave and go on. About 15 minutes later she starts blowing my cell up back to back, I didn’t answer at first because I knew she didn’t want anything. She calls like 4 times back to back so I panic and pull like over ready to hear the worse and she likes “my husband wants to know if he can use your weed eater”:angry::angry::mad:

Melyssa Ford has been released from a local Los Angeles hospital, following her near fatal car crash last month on Ventura Freeway. As previously reported, the radio and TV personality suffered a concussion, fractured skull, bleeding on the brain and a 10-inch head wound that had to be surgically closed with staples and stitches. Sources tell us,

She also has staples in her elbows and other severe cuts and bruises on her entire body. She’s walking with the assistance of a walker and will have to undergo therapy to fully recover.


A GoFundMe by close friend Claudia Jordan, has been launched to help with medical expenses. Thus far, over $20,000.00 has been raised. A number of celebrities have donated including sports journalist Stephen A. Smith, former NFL star and future Hall of Famer Osi Umenyiora, Bevy Smith from Melyssa’s Bravo TV family, former BET colleagues Julissa Bermudez and Big Tigger. Media outlets have also shared the GoFundMe link in an effort to both raise awareness and funds.

Sources close to Melyssa are a bit disappointed that some of the high profile celebrities that she has working relationships with haven’t stepped in to lend their support.

Melyssa has been in this industry for years and I’m surprised that some of these celebs that she’s friends with, haven’t donated or shared the GoFundMe link. She’s such a giving person. It’s disheartening.

We’re told her focus now is to heal and move past this experience.

Melyssa is still emotionally trying to process this nightmare. Her family and close friends will continue to support her through this ordeal.

And we don't know her exact net worth
Edit: (quick Google search says currently 2 million)
But I think it's safe to assume that she wasn't working a typical minimum wage job

Unfortunately, there are people all over the country in this same exact situation
Regular people who live check to check working a typical 9-to-5
Having a car accident change their entire life, b/c now they can't work, and might not have wealthy friends or family members to help them out with bills
 
I follow her on IG. Every post she made for the last so many months before this accident, was her on vacation in a different country. Now she needs us to pay her bills? Ive always loved this broad but, foh Melyssa :smh:
