He's fighting Pac next if Pac wins. I'm convinced of it even more now since he actually fought for the title (which I think he wants as bargaining leverage vs. Pac). Otherwise I don't even think he would bother paying the sanctioning fee for the belt. Since he beat Oscar he basically has said fuck the belts he doesn't need them. I think this, and the fact that Ortiz is an aggressive southpaw, are clear indicators that he wants Pac next.

No doubt but Mayweather has to get through Marquez first and that shit isn't guaranteed. They've fought twice already and a lot of people (including me) think Marquez beat him both times but either way it was close as hell.

Floyd is either fighting Khan or Pacquiao next, with Timothy Bradley as a third choice but Ortiz won't ever see Floyd again in the ring.

This ending actually benefits Ortiz because he was getting dominated in this fight and was headed towards getting knocked out so the controversy in this helps him as far as marketability and will keep in him in the higher purse ranges and also make him an ideal opponent for other stars so he won't lose as much as he would have with a loss to Mayweather without the controversy.

You dont punch significantly harder the more and more you get older and move up out of your natural weight. Evander didn't do it, spinks got a lil weaker moving up, oscar didn't do it....no one. Floyd clearly wanted to get back to the fight when the Ref told them to continue boxing. What is he supposed to do? Remember, that was just after the most blatant headbutt in boxing in many years, you could tell Floyd was tense afterwards.
