In 2000 Bush had 54 republican senators and in 2004 51 republican senators and he still got all his shit thru so with 59 democrat senators their just pussies if they can't get anything thru.

While I understand this thinking, it's bullshit. It's the kind of thinking that helps maintain the inertia in local and national politics. It encourages them to continue fielding any candidate because there are people that will vote for them in the name of "team spirit". Fuck that. It's time to play politics like grown ups or more pointedly like every other ethnic group. Our votes, individually and collectively (geographically, not racially), should go to the person that offers us the best deal. If it's neither or the one who does has a shady ass background, then we vote for neither one. Make them EARN your vote, Black folks. Never hit that Straight Ticket box when you vote. Educate yourself on each race and vote accordingly.
Okay brothers, stop saying this. It's not really what happened. Obama reached out to get as many, if any, Republicans votes he could on bills because he knew that 60 Dems in the Senate ain't shit and he needed some backup votes.
When Clinton lost the entire Congress he managed to be successful, so any panic is premature.
What I mean is he had a year to reach out, they say no to everything so now it's time to say fuck them and pass what you think is best for the country. He was voted in to put his policies into law, He has the majority in both houses so there's no excuse why he shouldn't.
What is the "Obama experiment"? I thought he was elected President. It's no more an "experiment" than any other election of a President. What a strange statement.
Some of the Democrats are blaming Coakley for poor campaiging but it is the Democratic brand that is damaged and it wasn't damaged by coakley, it was damaged months before coakley came along..........
And yet they managed to grab two more Congressional seats this past November. Coakley blew this on her own. Local elections are just that, local. She was lazy and arrogant and just assumed she would win and she lost. Too bad for her.
Obama has made concerted efforts, to the dismay of many of his supporters who want him to be the Black Bush, to reach out and has been rebuffed. It takes both sides to cooperate.
Obama did not barely win. He won handily by winning with 365 electoral college votes to McCain's 173, a much larger margin than Bush beat Kerry in 2004.
Obama is and campaigned as a liberal. He campaigned on repealing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", closing Guantanamo Bay camp, health care reform, shutting down the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. If that's not liberal, what is?
That's how every local race breaks down. Mass. is no different.
The biggest loser in this might be Joe Lieberman. He's no longer holding that position of "60th Vote" so the Democratic Caucus won't be begging for his support as much now.
It'll be interesting to see if Barack can pull a Clinton and win re-election in a few years after what will surely be a blood letting this November's congressional elections.

I don't know too much about how Pennsylvania's independents play into their elections... but Arlen Specter might be shitting in his pants right about now.
If I was Obama I'd go on a not give a fuck campaign. Just start passing shit, doing what the fuck I want. At this point, he has no respect of the racist CAC and Uncle Tom anyways. Fuck it. It don't matter. Just go on a rampage. He won't get another term anyways. The Devil honky wont allow it.
