Marvel Animation's X-Men '97 | Official Trailer

X-Men ’97

Dodd shared that when X-Men ’97 was coming together, as the X-Men were now under Disney’s control, he had to audition again. Fortunately, the audition went well, and Dodd was back in action.

“It’s about time, bub,” Dodd said when he got the news. “I’ve been sittin’ and waitin’ for 26 years. Let’s go.”

X-Men ’97 will return in 2026, according to Dodd. He alluded to the long wait being tied to rewrites and a change in direction from what creator and former head writer Beau DeMayo had planned for the series.

“We changed it so many times to fix up the direction he was going, and that’s why it’s taking so long to release it,” Dodd said.
When last we saw Wolverine, he was recovering from having his adamantium ripped from his bones by Magneto in “Tolerance is Extinction – Part 3.” As any X-Fan will tell you, a battle with the master of magnetism can’t keep a good X-Man down. But apparently, Disney didn’t get the memo and was quite alarmed when Dodd shared on social media that he was excited to be back in the studio, recording dialogue for season 2.

“Within 10 minutes of posting, my phone is ringing,” Dodd shared. Disney asked him to take the post down, as X-Men ’97 season 1 ended on a cliffhanger and the audience doesn’t know if Logan is alive or dead.

“Well, I think you’re wrong,” Dodd replied in his Logan voice. “They do now.”

Dodd went on to share that in X-Men ’97 season 2, Wolverine is indeed back, he has bone claws, and he’s trying to keep his spirits up as he’s fighting within himself.

“He feels like he’s half the man,” Dodd said of a Logan with no adamantium in his claws.

But it appears to be a temporary problem, as five to six episodes into season 2, Dodd said everybody is concerned about Wolverine as he seems very down and they haven’t seen him in a couple of days. With that, the door opens, Logan is just standing in the doorway looking really healthy, and goes, “I’m back, baby.”

“I had to give that away because I’m so happy,” Dodd said.

It was fun while it lasted

Fuck disney. Everybody knows wolverine survived that shit

This mfkr has so many grammatical and spelling / syntax errors in his own tweets......

I can only imagine how bad his emails, scripts and notes were.

He says "one of the many final straws for me"

For you.... for YOU....... FOR YOU?!!

Mfkr you were sexually harassing straight men and sending your nudes out like they were party flyers in the late 90's early 00's.......

Dude, YOU can't take such a stance or position of superiority when you have that skeleton in your closet!!

Now with that said...... if producers are not actually reading source material and then writers are being told to just read a Development Doc....

Yeah that's fucked up

That's funny, because the video gave me this vibe...

Bruh i made it like 6 minutes, basically Marvel/ Disney is launching a smear campaign against him. Which is their goto move when they fall out with creators/creatives, according to him.

How Disney/ Marvey managed to send his nudes without his knowledge or participation is a mystery to me.........

But yeah 30 mins of bullshit is waaay too much

The skeletons are definitely out of the closet.

I barely remember apocalypse l in Evolution.Evolution isnt as good as xmen tas.

Not as quotable as his X-Men 97 counterpart, but I personally think that his story arc is the best in any X-Men cartoon series or movie that features him. Numerous easter eggs and clues were dropped in the previous season, ultimately leading to his resurrection. He wasn’t introduced out of nowhere; he emerged as the final and most dangerous villain, showcasing a level of power that appeared godlike compared to what mutants had displayed up to that point.

Beloved Marvel TV Show Could Be Renewed for Season 4 & 5

October 15, 2025

…Speaking to Collider at New York Comic Con, Marvel Studios Head of TV, Animation, and Streaming Brad Winderbaum said, “There is definitely, more than possibly, more to come from X-Men ’97. We’re talking about Seasons 4 and 5 now.” His statement gives the clearest indication so far that the series will continue beyond Season 3.

The hit animated revival serves as a direct continuation of X-Men: The Animated Series (1992–1996). Winderbaum added that work on Season 3 is already well underway, noting, “Season 3 is, I’ve almost seen animatics for the entire season, and it is incredible. I saw an episode the other day.” Marvel has already renewed X-Men ’97 through Season 3 and confirmed that Season 2 will premiere in summer 2026...
