Manny Pacquiao has confirmed that he's retired from boxing at the age of 42

man take your L and move on
hell clearly you dont follow the sport closely enough to be commenting on it
after the controversy from the fight the wbo hired 5 judges to rescore it
same results
he lost
you dont score a fight based on compubox...this isnt the amatuers

So you agree with the judges? Go ahead and say yes so that we can start this debate.

Hopefully it ends up like

anyone who thinks paqman has a remote chance of winning should rewatch the jeff horn fight
horn was just too big for
Horn was battered over the second half of the fight. Pacquiao lost the fight because he started too late and got outworked early by a younger man, not size.
and lmao at dude saying he would surpass floyd when floyd played with him, he got ko'd for hours by marquez(who floyd toyed with), and he lost to the aforementioned jeff horn. if he was to somehow win it just means this era is simply ass.

hell he can beat tyson fucking fury and never surpass floyd

bgol ninjas say the most ridiculous shit lol
He meant career wise not head to head, and that's his opinion but he wouldn't be the only one who would believe that. With the exception of Marquez, I believe Pacquiao has preformed better against their other common opponents. A win over a p4p fighter like Spence at the age of 42 may surpass anything Mayweather has done in his career in the eyes of many.

Horn actually lost that fight. Go back and watch it again. He got a hometown gift decision.
I think you may have been influenced by the very biased announcing of Teddy Atlas. Pacquiao came on in the second half of the fight but he started too late, Horn deserved the win.

I watched the entire fight again this morning on mute. No crowd noise. No commentary. Nothing. I tried my best to be as generous as possible to Horn. I still had Pac winning 8-4.

I had Horn winning rounds 1, 4, 6, and 12. Even if I also gave him round 7, since it was close, Pac still wins. And I actually forgot to give Pac a 10-8 for round 9 cause I didn't hear them say that the ref called the doctor to Horn's corner.

Pac stole rounds 2 and 3 cause Horn was only slightly ahead then Pac doubled his activity during the last 45 seconds.

I didn't see the "manhandling" that people keep talking about. What I did see was Horn keep pushing Pac down by the back of the neck. He was hitting Pac a lot in the clinch, and that is about the only consistent scoring that he was doing. Other than that, he was missing a LOT of punches. Pac was embarrassing him quite often. Horn kept running into Pac's right hand when he would try to come in.

Horn DID succeed in physically pushing Pac back throughout the fight. Pac, however, was able to back Horn up by punching him. You win rounds by punching, not pushing.

Pac almost had Horn OUTTA there in round 9. I forgot how bad it was. I gotta give credit to Horn for surviving that. Doesn't win him the fight tho.

Even if I give Horn round 7 and score round 9 a 10-9, Pac still wins 115-113 at the very least.

spence is bigger, faster, more skilled, and a leftie

Pacquiao is fighting guys who were 2 and 3 years old when he began his pro career……and beating them.
From a historical viewpoint, if he pulls off this upset I honestly believe his legacy might supplant Floyd’s.
Again, that’s just my opinion.
Just on optics alone, what looks worse?
Floyd giving you freakshow fights against MMA guys and you tubers or Manny still fighting TOP welterweights?
I’m a Floyd apologist!
But I’m also a realist and I have to commend Manny for daring to be even greater than he already is.

If Manny pulls this off, he surpasses Floyd in my eyes.
I never thought I’d ever say that but it’s true.
This is all-time shit he’s flirting with.
Beating niggas half his age with Thurman and AB.
While Floyd is fighting YouTube stars.
I’m damn near pulling for him.
Simply because he’s old school and these new age fighters are comfortable not taking risks.
There’s no reason why Manny should still be relevant in 2021.
But blame these new cats for not fighting each other.

Thurman was always overhyped because he had knockout power. But he has never been a good boxer fighter .

And AB anybody that even lists that clown on their resume is just thirsty..

When Pacquiao was 40, Thurman had just turned 30 and Broner was still in his 20s.
At that level, its still an amazing feat.

that doesnt mean shit man
that just means this current era is weak
he fought his peer and got embarrassed
plus he went to sleep in the ring but a guy that peer also embarrassed
there is no way he could ever surpass him

hell you pac fans were saying he was too old when he fought floyd
now he's the goat years later for beating the next era
which one is it?
his age only matters when he fought floyd who btw is older than him
lmao

and btw floyd is fighting in exhibitions like all historically great fighters have done in retirement
how can you call yourself the 13th round and not understand that

Roberto Duran lost to his peers Hagler, Leonard and was also put to sleep by Hearns.
He's still arguably historically better than all three of them.
I was never in that camp who said he was too old when he fought Floyd.
I don't know where you got that from.
He lost fair and square.
What I am saying is that if he beats Spence, he will have accomplished more.
When you're laying waste to top guys from 118 all the way to 154, that's unheard of type shit.

nobody thinks duran is better than those guys mentioned
definitely not haglar or leonard
what are you smoking man?

Nobody?
Yeah ok.
Duran had 103 wins, 5 titles in 4 classes, and is the greatest lightweight of all time.
That's not really up for debate.
Duran had a better career than Hagler and Hearns.
Leonard......debatable based on who you're talking to.

On pound for pound lists Duran is ranked higher...remember, Duran was the greatest lightweight of all time before he moved up to welterweight...
If Pacquiao beats Spence an argument can be made that he may surpass Floyd in P4P lists....I think it will move him closer to Floyd (very close) but not enough to pass him...Floyd beat him head to head and beat the guy who consistently gave Pacquiao fits...also if Pacquiao beats Spence it also serves to boost Floyd...I mean how great does Floyd look seeing what Canelo has become
It is an interesting discussion though
