Man says McDonald's is no longer affordable after getting charged $16 for a burger, fries, and soda

In 1980, the federal minimum Wage was $3.10hr. Then, You could get a Big Mac meal with a Large Fry and soda for about $2.59. You could get lunch for less than an hour's wage. That same meal now costs around $10.29, depending on where you live. That's about the rate of inflation over 43 years. Today, the fed minimum wage is $7.25hr. The problem here is not McDonald's it is Reganomics. We have had 40 years of union-busting wage suppression. Eating that unhealthy Lunch now will cost you just under 1.5 hours of labor at minimum wage. To keep up with inflation, the minimum wage should be about $12.
