I don't get what people don't realize. Cops are paid to protect citizens not kill them. Throwing a cooler at a person riding a scooter has a high chance of killing them. Why would we be cool with cops throwing coolers at people. Makes no sense. We are assuming the cops were even justified in chasing him in the first place.

This adversarial system we have with these supposed professionals thinking they are playing cowboys and Indians is ridiculous. So what if he gets away. They can still indict him for eluding and safely apprehend.

The guy on the bike posed no danger to the cop. There is no justifiable reason for causing his death.

Cops are employed to protect city property, businesses and the interests of the Mayors office. As denizens of the city we're supposed to govern ourselves. When folks make legal infractions the consequence is being captured dead or alive by law enforcement. Either way, police are taking you in. Whether you go to jail or the morgue.

Don't do crime. Dude lost his life fleeing after selling narcotics. Had he crashed into someones family member and crippled or killed them the cops would be at blame from letting him escape riding a scooter on the sidewalk down a one way street the wrong way.

More than 300 people have been killed by police so far this year. I have been watching all that shit happen in real time for decades. Just 6 days ago in Queens a 71 year old mother was killed and her 44 year old daughter injured by some asshole fleeing the police. I wish police would have let that fool go in accordance with NYC no chase policy. Unfortunately what I want to it be or wish it would be ain't what it is.

Oh and let's not get it fuzzy about why NYC has a no chase rule. Back in the 90's two cop cars collided while giving chase and a cop was killed. Despite the many other times innocent bystanders were killed or crippled during police chases. It wasn't until a pig got killed and another pig seriously injured that NYC threw the brakes on high speed chases.

For those who don't know. That strip of Aqueduct, between Fordham Road and Kingsbridge Road is mired with dope fiends since Hispanics started slinging dope on that stretch. One of my people, who is also a member here, says his mom still lives on Aqueduct. So of course he's around there from time to time to see her. He says dope fiends are breaking entrance doors, pissing in hallways and sleeping on steps high out they mind. Those old ass buildings don't even have elevators. Ive seen many times when innocent individuals were aggressively approached while doing nothing. In fact I've had to stop law enforcement a few times from being aggressive towards innocent people. Also both of my friends had large sums of money on them . Both with over 5000 in them. 1 of my boys owns a liq store another is an independent contractor that just came from doing a gig. They wouldn't want to cops to falsely claim they were drug dealers or mysteriously confiscating their money and than acting like they never took their bread . So avoiding false claims or having their money stolen would be another reason to run. Black men aren't allowed to have expensive cars or large sums of money on them without being stereotyped. One of my boys who work for the MTA plus has 2 bizz tells it's been various times he's been stopped and randomly harassed by cops cause he had a custom built 100,000 car or his custom built motorcycle. If it wasn't for his MTA gear, him talking about let me call my lawyer, or sometimes calling 911 himself and asking for a captain he to would probably go through more bullshit. I know of and see various instances of harassment and aggressiveness by the cops to innocent well to do minorities

Pigs across America are notorious for steeling money from people and getting away with it. I was walking with a pay stub since the age of 16 so police couldn't easily accuse me of being a hustler and take my money. I'd already seen that shit happen to way too many hustlers. That's why your friend who is a businessman can say he'll call his lawyer and the cops backed off.

Fact remains if you are not doing crime you are much better off not fleeing like a criminal. If your peeps just came from their legitimate business there is no need to run. Fleeing almost always leads to getting chased. Which leads to even more danger.
