but in case you did not know the way to answer those is to hit the "Customer Clarify" or the "Abuse" buttons they basically don't want guides grabbing .20 off those types of questions.

Never missed top guide. If you should've pressed Clarify or Abuse, they will TELL YOU in the QC email. You should read the QC part of the forum. QC will implicitly tell you that you should've hit abuse or clarify if they feel necessary.

My problem was the mis-information about the "customer clarify" and "abuse"...the earlier quoted example is clearly a asshole just sending some bullshit so yes you could use "conversational" customer service and ask them to specify "Did you have a specific question for ChaCha?" and more than likely you'd make the .20cent and keep it moving.

But keep in mind that the question is defendable with feedback and one of those that fall under the use of "cutomer clarify" and "abuse" button, also as you know other guides can fuck you up with that because if the asshole keeps sending that shit then other guides can hit the new "BAD" or "WOW" thus it potentially can come back to bite you.

Hi! Welcome to a little game I call "Everything you ever wanted to know about ChaCha but didn't read in the Knowledgebase, blog, or forum."

1. The company name is ChaCha. It is not Chacha, CHACHA, Cha Cha, Cha cha, Cha, CHA, or ChaHaHa. Any variation of this will earn you a QC. You won't like it. It's unnecessary. ChaCha only!

2. Did you know that there is a proper format for 411 queries? If someone says "Number to Pizza Hut in Las Vegas." Your first instinct is to give them what? The number. HQ says no. This is the proper format:

Pizza Hut
1 Slice Way
Pepperoni, CA 12345
111-111-1111

Even if they ask for ONLY the address or ONLY the phone number you must provide all of this info. If not. You get a QC.

3. Full sentences. They're important. There are 4 exceptions to this. They are lyrics, directions, 411 queries, and weather. If you don't use a full sentence, and it MUST be more than 5 words, you will get a QC. Start every sentence with a capital letter. Use proper spelling and punctuation. Lack of these earn you a QC.

4. Emoticon and Chatspeak. Don't do it. Smilies are not allowed. LOL, LMFAO, LMAO, TY, TTYL, and all other acronyms are not allowed. It's unprofessional and will earn you...what? Come on, say it with me. QC. We're trying to avoid QCs.

5. Google Maps. Ok. I recommend Mapquest. If you're a die hard Google Map fan (do they exist) then you need to link it properly. On the top right hand side of the page you will see "Link to this page." You will need to copy that link into a new tab in your browser. Paste it, open it. THEN you click "Save this page as a result." Otherwise you just get a picture of the US and geographically challenged people will look at it, slack jawed, and drool. And you get a...QC.

6. Blacklisted sites. I could go into this long diatribe (I often do) but I won't. Let me make it simple. See this list? Live it, learn it, love it. All sources on here will get you a QC.

9. Using profanity. The only time it is ever acceptable to use profanity is when it is specifically requested by the customer. It will appear in lyrics, acronyms, and jokes. Other than that, pretend it's your Mom on the other side of the monitor.

10. Just say no to porn. Sending ANY porn links will not only get you a QC, it will get you deactivated. That's a fancy word for fired. If any naked images appear on the page you do NOT send it. Well, there is a few exceptions. You can find them in Quick Links. It must have a portal that lets the IS know that they must be 18+ to enter the site.

11. What age group is my customer? None of your business and don't try to guess. Assume they're old enough to own a cell phone.

12. How do I get paid? Search the forum, dude. I've answered this too many times. I already get paid. Can't find it in myself to answer it again..lol. The website for the Pay Me Now bank is FirstIb.com.

13. Will be left blank because I'm superstitious and was born on Halloween.

14. Are Mods/Admins employees? No. They're Guides like you and me. They can leap tall buildings in a single bound but they can NOT view your account so all of that must go through Feedback.

15. Can I contest a QC? Sure. You can send the info through Feedback.

16. What do I do if I can't find the answer? If you really can't find the answer then you must try to get your customer closer to their answer. If they want the name of the movie where Samuel L. Jackson played a deranged cop and you can't find anything (Lakeview Terrace, great movie), then send them info on movies he's been in and suggest one of those. Ask for a quote they may remember. Ask relevant questions. Do NOT ask "What movies has he been in?" That's just...wrong. They're already asking US for that info.

17. Why doesn't Feedback answer me? Feedback is a bit overwhelmed. Some Guides have sent in 8 or 9 questions. These are all evaluated by real people. They can't answer everything at once. They're only human.

18. Is it ok to tell customers to see the link? Absotively not. Some of them can't click the link so sending "Please see the attached link for the info" is useless. No one reuses a useless service. Either do the work or Abort it.

19. How do I report bad answers from Guides? Easy one. Go to ChaCha.com. Click on Contact Us. Cut and paste the entire query and answer into the box, send it in. They'll take care of it. They don't like bad customer experiences.

20. Common ChaCha acronyms:
IS=Info Seeker
KB=Knowledgebase
TG=Top Guide

21. What if the whole answer doesn't fit? If you can't reword and reformat it to make it fit then leave a few spaces at the end. Type ...MORE?! This lets the IS (now that you know what it stands for I can use it) know that there is more to the answer and they can choose whether or not to send in a request for the rest of the info.

22. I failed the SMS test the first time, can I retake it? No. There is no retesting allowed.

23. Are there any really important links I should know about but I probably missed in the huge KB? I'm so glad you asked. Yes. Yes there is. Allow me.

I suspect its just assholes sending in there own names to see what happens, the motherfuckas rarely ask me a famous person or something I can answer quickly. If I could just filter that bullshit out and just answer joke and weather questions or some shit I could just use the magic 8 ball on, I would be balling off this shit. I try google, myspace and search bug, but I get names that have no fucking info. If anyone has a quick generic response that won't fuck up my quality please let me know. Also can anybody tell me the secret as to how people get over a thousand searches and crazy ass numbers like that. Those questions are not back to back and even with a person being a stay at home mom or some shit those numbers seem high as hell to me. I working with the highest speeds at my job and dsl at home. There has to be a secret.

Usually it is the actual person asking or someone who knows they have a myspace or facebook (basically deep testing their own name), but I feel u on those questions like:

Go to whitepages.com, enter the name, most times it won't find their name, and just respond with "I'm sorry but I didn't find any info on this person. Is the spelling correct?"

If you do find a name with a bunch of results, respond with "I have several results, can you give a location?"

Anytime anyone asks me for a joke, I just cite a joke page and send them the joke I have programmed in my macros: "Why did Tigger look in the toilet? To find Pooh!"
Everybody asks for offensive jokes, and I'm not tryin to offend the next mf (especially since we got this answer rating system), plus that shit is way quicker. Been doin that forever and never got QC for it.
