is William effectively nicer more accommodating for show?
personally i think Christina in her natural state is just angrier because she as a woman has had her 'birth-right' denied
the episode went out of its way to emphasis that is sucks to be a black woman but it sucks to a lesser degree to be a woman period

playing dime chair psychologist, but is it possible that William is more chill, pleasant and accommodating as man cause he doesnt have to carry all the weight of Christian's anger? Or is it because we see William trying to butter ppl up like Ruby & Tic/Leti/Uncle Geogre in episode 2 cause he wants something. Where Christina is more to the point/blunt

If any of William's personality remains in Christina then I would say he is just naturally easy going (if he was an heir in the Sons of Adam he probably had limited concerns, except for those jealous of him. That of course led to his death). Christina, in spite of her intelligence and power is limited because she is a woman, and why she is angery (her in Ruby are more alike than Ruby realized. Ruby, would be a manager in Marshall Fields if she were a white male. Christina, would be the leader of the "Sons of Adam").

I think you hit it at every angle it makes since you not carrying the same weight as a black man if you jad the ability to switch colors like that what REALLY gets me. I saw this episode and what I remembered was a black woman turning white and living white. How she got the dream job she wanted. How she had no experience but got free shit and respect and reverence
How she loved being herself but being white was so powerful and good she chose white for as long as she could.
The theme of working hard vs hardly working
How she saw a sister about to get raped so instead used her whiteness to turn the tables on him and how empowering that was to use the whiteness as an ally was monumental television.

Ruby was more than qualified for the job but didnt get it.
Not only didnt she get it but they hired someone else. She assumed that someone else was just as talented and dedicated as she was. Thats the double edged sword of black exceptionalism. You cant be good you have to be better than good if you black.
Ruby was shocked to find out that not only did she get the job on a whim, but she did not have much of an education or taken add'l courses that would've made her a better hire than Ruby. Remeber in earlier episodes Ruby said ppl like her could accomplish anything with hard work & persitecnce in the white man's world (sounds familiar cause they been selling us that BS forever)

Must of my adult life I've worked in Finance/Accounting in corporate america I've been the only black person in the group/department.
For the last 5 years i've worked for a company which is much more 'diverse' and where the work isnt as demanding as previous employers. But i've noticed that my black co-workers (who are older) dot every I & cross every T. They come in & leave on time, take only the allocated time for lunch, where applicable feel out their time cards perfectly. These ppl that have been there for years and decades. I ask em why stay in the office if you dont have work to do. Why be so anal on doing shit that no one cares about? But they contend that they dont have the same luxury to cut corners if everyone else does cause they are black. I dont how much of it paranonia or based on age or founded but i can't fault them for being overly cautious.
