LiAngelo Ball decides to enter 2018 NBA draft

you could do the same thing playing against your local 8th-grade team shooting all the balls..

That Lithuania strategy was genius. Pull the Kid out of College, have him showcase his skills in Lithuania,
Enter the Draft :money:

Their plan is for all three kids to play one year of college ball and then go pro. Below was going to be suspended for this year, no basketball.

They had to go somewhere to play.

You also have to get drafted too fam....Much more likely to happen for him. Once it happens, he needs to be prepared...If he wants to stick around and maybe even make a contribution

Do you have any idea how hard it is to get drafted? A team is investing time and millions of dollars, I don't see a team investing in Gelo.

I hope I'm wrong.

He's talking like he about to do hoop it up or some shit. 1k jumpshotts a day and you too can make it into the NBA.

Is he entering the draft? Has he been playing ball his entire life for this moment? Is he THISCLOSE to being on an NBA roster? Is anyone on BGOL even that close?
If he gets drafted (and he just might if he enters), then he wants to be ready. I don't know how much you ball, but 1000 shots a day IS NOT EASY. I am adding this workout onto whatever regular regiment he already goes through
Assuming his talent level is on par with his big brother. The one thing Lonzo lacks is the one thing I am saying the younger brother should work on. If he wants the LAKERS to take a chance on him. They don't want two brick layers

I dont think it is as hard when y ou have the kind of resources he has

He's not getting drafted. He's not good enough. Period. End of story. Not even the Knicks will look at him.

Those bullshit numbers from Lithuania :smh::smh:

Ninja shoud have stayed at UCLA
^^ This. Exactly.

I was wondering... "72 points is impressive... But how many shots did Lavar let Gelo take?" (was it 30? 40? 50? or 70? :dunno:)
Lots of headlines today... but not one single news article has provided ANY info about his stats of makes/misses. :dunno:

Then this article caught my eye...

How LaVar Ball staged LiAngelo Ball’s 72-point game after he declared for the draft

This game was totally played for the publicity — there’s no other explanation.
https://www.sbnation.com/2018/3/27/17169694/liangelo-ball-72-points-lavar-lithuania-nba-draft-declare

[from the article]

It appeared Guangdong’s starting point guard was Xu Jie, whose only recorded stats on RealGM come from an under-17 World Cup in 2016, when he averaged 4.5 points on 27 percent shooting. He’s 5’10 and 18 years old, and his skill level appears to match up with the rest of this Guangdong team, which is a far cry from their professional team. (And let me remind you Jimmer Fredette’s a superstar in the actual CBA, so that’s not the highest possible level of competition, either.)

Here’s a photo to drive home the point...

Soooo did Gelo really drop 72 points.... against some random Chinese players built like 8th graders? o_O
Because nobody wants to talk about 'how many' shots he took. :dunno: Or any of his stat totals for this game. :dunno:

This shit is just bananas. :smh:

Whatchu mean, neither of them got drafted

Jeffrey didn't even get a scholarship to Illinois, he was a preferred walkon and Marcus only real ride was to Central Florida.

Now his connection did help when he made his team lose their shoe deal because he father came in and gave them one until his kids were done.

Jeff ultimately left Illinois and transferred to Central Florida to play with his brother

Someone posted the stats on Twitter. :smh:

Gelo played 40 minutes. Took 51 shots. :smh: Went 31-51 from the field... and 5-15 from behind the arc.
(And his brother Melo managed to put up 25 shots in the same game.)

That's 76 shots... in just 40 minutes... between the 2 of them. :smh:

Gelo himself took more shots than anyone named: Jordan, Shaq, Lebron, Iverson, Bird, Carmelo, D.Wade, Westbrook, KD, Curry, or even Kobe has ever attempted.... during their entire NBA careers.

Most Field Goal Attempts in a Single NBA Game:
#1 - Kobe Bryant / 50 FGAs / April 13, 2016
#2 - Michael Jordan / 49 FGAs / January 16, 1993

Not sure which NBA Team would ever allow them to 'shoot THAT much'. :dunno:

I was responding to a poster stating it wouldn't be that hard for Gelo to get with all the resources that he had available.

The picture of MJ's kids was to show that those two had more resources and they did nothing.

Oh ok.....

Man I want to see them win....but this isn't smart. HEs not ready and no team is gonna draft him and wait for him to potentially develop.
Yeah especially with what the Lakers had to deal with Lab at being a pain in the ass for most of the season. Nobody wants those problems.

i wanna see how this plays out....among the thousands of college players he's average at best.he really should have stayed at ucla. he hasn't played against any other talented players or teams . no way he gets drafted unless lavar gets him picked. i don't think a team wants them problems.

UCLA suspended those 3 boys for the entire season. He wouldn't gotten any basketball experience throughout the season.

Liangelo got to run with professional men in Eastern Europe. He showed he can be an above average scorer. He was not an average in High School and he wouldn't been an average scorer in college if he got to play.

Gelo can become a JJ Riddick type with a post game.

Maybe not this year or the next, but Gelo can develop into a JJ Riddick type.

He practiced at UCLA, he wasn’t even projected to be a starter

Maybe so. Redick played college ball for 4 years , I think LiAngelo could have benefited staying 2-3 years in college too.
