BELIEVE IT OR NOT, any parent with a NBA prospect for a child could generate the same hype around their child by making bold or outlandish claims.

I want you to go to the Wal-Mart in your city around 3pm on a Saturday, and I want you to start ranting and raving about how you're the greatest human being on earth and how you can lead everyone to a Utopia. You'd get all kind of attention. You have the platform and the guts - or insanity - to do that, and you will get a lot of people finding it impossible to turn their eyes away from you.

The issue is, literally ANYONE in that store could get the same attention as you. The genius ain't in being able to draw attention to yourself; the GENIUS would be in actually doing what you claim you can do.

Now, if Lavar can steal a significant amount of Nike's sneaker marketshare, we can revisit this conversation ....

Meh, playing 4 free vs. getting paid to play while expanding the family brand. I'd take my chances overseas in hindsight. The ncaa is basically pimping niggas while they collect billions.

I hope it all works out for the ball family b/c there needs to be alternatives to the free labor pool i.e. the ncaa.
