Yes 1 son is there but that wasn't the plan. That would be a win for 99.9999% of parents. But not the 1 that's been telling us all his kids were 1 and done and headed to the Lakers. 1 ain't going to the league 1 go have to fight like hell to make it and the 1 that's there is being called "scared"

And truth be told he does need these institutions. How long you think this shoe thing go last? Making over priced wack looking shoes that you gotta wait a year to get your pair that you ordered? Cuz i can't see folks signing up a 2nd time for that bullshit.

Hes not shown anything yet because his plan may backfire. His sons still have to go wherever they end up and ball out or he will look like a snake oil salesman and a fraud. Ultimately, it come down to his boys producing at the level he promotes. Anything elsr is a failure to him, them, and his brand.

And for as loud and outgoing Levar is his son sit back acting scared. Does Liangelo want to leave UCLA?

Lavar is architect of all this. Of course it is a direct consequence for fucking up. Lavar is the judge, jury and executioner.

Melo, the youngest boy, didn't do a damn thing. Lavar didnt like the new coach so he pulled his son.

Gelo, the Cat burglar, certainly faced the wrath of his father. Consequence.
Of course he should be receiving guidance from his daddy. He don't know much about life and he ain't got a source of income. Lavar is paying for his schooling if not a scholarship. Gelo appears slow too.

Gelo is a laughing stock at UCLA so he needs a new landscape and a fresh start. He may need to just sit out the semester.

You're right about the semester but transferring down to D2 generally doesn't require you to sit out a year. That's the main reason we have a few D1 recruits at my school every season


One-time transfer exception: If you transfer from a four-year school, you may be immediately eligible to compete at your new school if you meet ALL the following conditions:

  • You are transferring to a Division II or III school, or you are transferring to a Division I school in any sport other than baseball, men's or women's basketball, football (Football Bowl Subdivision) or men’s ice hockey. If you are transferring to a Division I school for any of the previously-listed sports, you may be eligible to compete immediately if you were not recruited by your original school and you have never received an athletics scholarship.
  • You are academically and athletically eligible at your previous four-year school.
  • You receive a transfer-release agreement from your previous four-year school.

I was like...who the fuck is his son?! I never see him on sports center, all I see is his father ranting and raving about how his son is the second coming of Christ and Jordan combined into the best athlete of all time.

Y’all gotta give LaVar some credit.

I compare him to Joe Jackson. Yes, the children had the talent, but without Joe Jackson, we would’ve never had Michael, Janet, etc.

Might be a change....used to be d1 and d2 both went by same rules because they both give scholarships....

Of the top 10 draft picks, the general public wouldn’t be able to pick any of them out of a lineup.
 
I admit I don't know much about NBA draft status requirements for overseas players but is it possible for his son to play overseas for a year or two and get drafted? Assuming he goes over there and shows out.

He said he was gonna get some guys off the street in L.A. and train LaMelo like that. Dude is delusional, LiAngelo wasn't even a starter on UCLA and he was talking about LiAngelo was gonna play one year and then go the NBA

Lebron was driving a hummer to highschool that was given to the mother based on his future potential. You dont even know if those cars are currently being paid for.

It's very interesting how lavar is being ridiculed for wanting to train/send his sons to Europe for basketball but Christian pulisic father did the same thing 4 soccer and pulisic is being hailed as the next American soccer superstar.

He was taken out of HS in America to train in Germany at 16. Look how it turned out 4 him. He's a starter for one of the top teams in the world.

Lavar is going the unorthodox route, but he's also looking out for the best interests of his sons. Imho, I hope this all starts a trend of HS players skipping college i.e. free bball labor in order to get trained overseas while playing professionally.
