Kobe betta than Jordan: That's right I said it!!!!

Ok let me break it down for ya..
Hers the deal with that shit..
First, if the goal of the game was to score 81 points or score the most, MJ would have done it a long time ago.
Why do I say so , well MJ dedicate so much time and effort to winning championships and being the best player. The later involves so many other details such as defense passing rebounding assists, and making his other players better, as well as scoring!
Another thing you have to rember MJ was doing it against some of the best defenses ever! They didn’t play no pussy zone shit, hell no the hand check, sometimes double hand check you, as well as enforced a no lay up rule, that would have them knock you on you black ass, if you tried to pull off a 81 point game like Kobe did.
Not only that MJ saved his best games against the best teams, he got better against the better competition, not in reverse like Kobe!
And last MJ dominated every shooting guard and small forward that he played against, off the top name one that out played him in any game.. I cant honestly say that Kobe would dominate Tracy, Lebron, or even Vince Carter, right now.
Oh and if you want to whip some ass
"in my best David Spade imitation"
I'm shaking in my bright yellow suit!

Give Kobe some sidekicks like Pippen, Paxon, BJ Armstrong...and that nigga would win 5 Championships straight. Why niggas so scared to go at Jordan! He human! Fukk all dat tho, Kobe is more talented and got wayyy more skills than Mike.

81 points bitches!!!
I had to stop doing my "work" to express my feelings on this subject: Kobe Bryant. Now, back in 2001-04 I couldn't form my mouth to say the words I'm about to state. Give me a minute...hold on....ok, I'm ready. Kobe is...is...a good player. Aw man, that sh*t was difficult. Ever since he tried to show up one of the greatest players of my lifetime, His Airness, I really couldn't respect him or give him props. Now I feel I have to. Or do I? Yeah he scored 81 last night AGAINST THE RAPTORS!! Hell anybody should be able to but they haven't. And he scored 81 points in 42 minutes. Very difficult for a player under 7 feet (Kobe's listed at 6'6"). But is it getting him closer to the ultimate prize? In the month of January, as of today he's scored a total of 455 pts, which is probably more than some teams scored in the month, haven't checked though. He missed the first two games of the new year serving a suspension he deserved. Very outstanding stats but are they outstanding or expected. During this scoring frenzy, the Lakers are 7-3 (7-5 w/games he was suspended good record hell they're over .500.
Magic and Charles Barkley say he won't win if he doesn't pass. Automatically, the next question is: who will he pass it to?. My thing is he plays the 2-guard a.k.a. SHOOTING GUARD. He's doing what he's supposed to do. I still feel they won't make the playoffs. Which, in time, Kobe will be known as a good scorer, but another Anfernee Hardaway. Anfernee couldn't win without Shaq either.

Since everyone is comparing him to MJ, and I don't know why they are, lets see how he's doing so far since I got all this time on my hands.

First 10 years Games Points Assists Steals Titles MVP

MJ 684 21,998 4,025 1,845 3 3

KOBE 665 15,355 2,953 961 3 0

Quite a difference huh. Even though Kobe is still playing his 10th season, he has a lot of ground to make up. Keep in mind, MJ played only 18 and 17 games his 2nd and 10th seasons in the NBA, respectively. Kobe only played 2 full seasons (one being the lockout season in 1999 only 50 gms) in his career to MJ's 5. Kobe started out on the bench for 2 seasons, didn't become an everyday starter until third season in NBA. Although, MJ didn't play a complete 2nd season, he played every game his rookie season. I'm saying all this for 2 reasons, lets stop all the BS there will never be another MJ, Magic, Isiah, Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Oscar Robinson....never. Two, if we compare stats to see who's the best it should be at the end of a players' career or players in the league at the same time (Kobe vs. LeBron). A hot debate here in NTS is who is the NBA's best player of all time?? I feel it's Bill Russell (11 championships, cmon). Some say Wilt, MJ, Magic. Only the stats will tell and then they might not work.

Thanks for keeping me busy. All this research has made me hungry. Time to take lunch, but please reply when and if you have time. Maybe I'll set up a website to make it easier for everyone. Take care and we'll see how goo...good Kobe Bryant is on Sunday, Jan. 29th when he battles the Deeeetroit Pistons on ESPN. If he scores 35+ and WINS then I'll have the ultimate respect for him. Cause he's scoring on a championship caliber team.

First of all, All yall need to stop hatin kobe. What yall niggas want man?!!! The nigga did it all. And about him being a ball hogg, Who else was gonna score the points, Lamar Odom? Fuck outta here, cuzz. The nigga should score all they points if you ask me. Fuck the rest till they prove they ready to come ball!! LAKERS BITCH

this is the dumbest shit ever Jordan is the best u disrespectful bastards dont eva doubt his name....he got more rings more last second buzzer beaters and a better all around game than kobe.....Jordans game was uncoachable phil jackson based his coaching around jordans game and fine tined the other players, respect like that is unmathed shit a nigga shoot 40 shots and is on a WACK ass team and score alot of point u lose ur mind like a whore in a room a dicks and dollars :smh:

I'm wondering how old you are to even make this analogy? If you think Jordan couldn't do that with the current NBA roster, then you really don't know anything about basketball. Anyone who knows basketball knows that the NBA is not even close to what it used to be. Jordan played against the best of the best and scored at will. And, he got his points while still improving the play of those around him.

To make my point: When Kobe entered the league, it's a known fact that he would ask for Jordans advice every chance he got. He'd even ask advice during the game. Why do you think he would do that?

If Kobe ain't the baddest mufucka since Jordan, Who is dawg? You probly gone say sum stupid shit like.....Lebron James. Quit watching Sportscenter and watch the games dude, Kobe is on the way. Let that MJ shit go. That was then bru.

Kobe averaging 35 right now just halfway through this season. That average won't hold up. Jordan Averaged 37.1 in only his 3rd season and in his first ten years minus the 18 game season he only averaged under 30 twice. Compare the first 7 years of both players and jordan will dominate the stats. If he didn't retire the first time he would have had a four peat. Kobe can never lead a team like J. Jordan pushes players to be better, Kobe pushes only himself to be better. I doubt Kobe gets another Championship and at 40 Jordan was still averaging 20 PPG. Kobe's good but he aint no Jordan. If MJ didn't retire the Bulls would have won 6 straight! Kobe wouldn't have known what to do with Pip, BJ or Grant.

:puke: @ this post.

I knew it was only a matter of time being that some bumbling fan said this same thing to me earlier today but all I will say is look at the career numbers and the career accomplishments and then see that Wobe is no where near Jordan's level.

All these dudes that wish they were Wobe's boy toy is sickening. Grown men going around glorfying the 81 points (which was impressive I admit) like he actually broke the NBA record. :hmm:

The bottomline is that in today's NBA, if someone catches fire (and gets enough FGA) they can go on a scoring binge.

Bryant got hot in the second half and brought the lakers the W which is what Im more impressed about being that he loses games for them more than he wins but who doesnt think that the following list of players can't score near 100 if they caught fire and were selfish enough to do it (Not to mention hada coach with the ego of Jackson to allow it)

T-Mac
Iverson
Gilbert Arenas
LeBron James

That being said, I am almost positive that someone will break Wilt's record before someone breaks Coach Stupid's because his record is the only one that requires total team efficiency and not selfish play.

I don't really like Kobe. But he is clutch.

No, he really isnt... See why Wobe isnt clutch

kobe is a great player and i give him props, but, michael joran is god and kobe is jesus as far as im concerned.

jordan is more complete than kobe....has kobe ever won defensive player of the year? jordan did a few times.... jordan also made his teamates better....something i dont think kobe is capable of.

remember this, if jordan didnt retire the first time, he wouldve won 8 straight nba titles you better believe that!

kobe is missing a couple of intangibles...and they are key...the main one that he's missing and a damn 9yr old kid could pt it out....it is what magic, larry, mj,shaq all them greats GREAT, he does not pass the ball..he also has a lack of leadership....he'll never get to the championship scoring 81 pts and thats a fact...and all you kobe lovers know it....he has to trust his teamates...

So, I had a little free time today and since so many people in this thread were calling my bluff, stating that Wobe Bryant was the top clutch player in the NBA, I started to think to myself, "Hey maybe these Wobe testicle worshippers were right and I was wrong after all "

But being that I dont have long term memory problems like most Wobe crotch cowboys (Only remembering his performance against the Cavs) I looked it up, and the results were a lot different than projected...

The following data is taking from the game play-by-plays from NBA.com and is 100% accurate. This data will reflect the lakers' games from November of the 2005-2006 season:

Team Record: 5-8

Number of close games (For this thread's purposes -
lakers had a chance to win within the final 60 seconds of
the game) : 5

The play by play will start within the final seconds of the game or "crunch time" where the lakers were either in the lead, tied, or trailing by no more than 2 possessions.

Plays made by Wobe will be in Bold .

Plays made by those D-league allstars (lakers not named Wobe) in Purple.

November Plays:

LAL @ DEN - 11/2/05

(0:22) [PHL][83-81] Iverson Jump Shot: Made (32 PTS) Assist: Korver(2AST)

I couldve sworn that I've heard a numerous amount of times that that little dude from the 76ers' cant carry a team down the stretch.

(0:22) [LAL] Team Timeout: Regular
(0:22) [PHL] Team Timeout: Short
(0:07) [LAL] Team Timeout: Short

(0:00) [LAL] Parker Jump Shot: Missed
(0:00) [PHL] Salmons Rebound (Off:1 Def:7)
(0:00) End Period

So far the lakers are 1-1 in games decided within the final 60 seconds and Wobe is shooting 1-3 FGA in hitting potential game winning shots.. 33% makes you clutch?

CHI @ LAL - 11/20/05

Chicago plays in Red.

We join this game with 1:25 remaining in the 4th qt after Tyson Chandler fouls Lamar Odom.

(1:25) [CHI] Chandler Foul: Loose Ball (3 PF)

(0:24) [CHI] Team Rebound
(0:24) [LAL] Bynum Substitution replaced by Mihm
(0:24) [CHI 94-93] Sweetney Free Throw 2 of 2 (20 PTS)

Michael Sweetney misses 1 of 2 FTs and the lakers have the ball, down by 1 with 24 seconds. Let's watch...

So Chris Duhon makes 2 FTs to push the Bulls lead to 3. The lakers still have a chance to tie with 11 seconds left on the clock. Im almost sure they will since BGOL lemmings say the lakers have the most clutch player in the NBA on the team.

(0:11) [LAL] Team Timeout: Regular

(0:00) [LAL] Team Rebound
(0:00) End Period

Are you Wobe fan boys starting to see a trend here? Well I guess not since you are too busy hugging your Wobe Bryant action figure and plotting how to get his nuts in your mouth

The lakers are now 1-2 in winnable games in November and the 'most clutch player' in the NBA is now 1-5 FGA when a make puts the lakers in the lead or tie.

But wait, there's more...

NJ @ LAL - 11/27/05

Is it another chance for redemption for Wobe?

Nets plays in Blue.

4th qt -

(0:12) [NJN] Kidd Foul: Personal (3 PF)

J. Kidd fouls Wobe with 12 seconds on the clock with the lakers down by 3.

(0:12) [LAL 88-90] Bryant Free Throw 1 of 2 (44 PTS)
(0:12) [NJN] McInnis Substitution replaced by M. Jackson
(0:12) [LAL 89-90] Bryant Free Throw 2 of 2 (45 PTS)

(0:12) [NJN] Team Rebound
(0:12) [NJN 91-89] Kidd Free Throw 2 of 2 (30 PTS)

J. Kidd misses a FT leaving it a 2 pt game and the lakers have the ball with 12 seconds left. I am 100% sure that the league's MDP will come through for the team.

(0:02) [LAL] Odom Jump Shot: Missed
(0:01) [LAL] Cook Rebound (Off:3 Def:1)
(0:00) [LAL 91-91] Cook Jump Shot: Made (10 PTS)
(0:00) [TBD] Instant Replay: Support Ruling
(0:00) End Period

So you BGOL experts are saying... With the lakers down by a bucket with 12 seconds left and the best player in the NBA on the team, a bum like Lamar Odom is taking the last shot? Good thing that Big-10 Phony Brian Cook bailed him out or it wouldve been another loss at home by the lakers.

(0:02) [SAN 90-84] Duncan Free Throw 2 of 2 (16 PTS)
(0:00) End Period

So, we will now recap what has happened here:

The lakers finish the month of November with a 1-4 record in games that were winnable for them ( 0-2 at home and 1-2 on the road ).

The 'most clutch player' in the NBA goes a whopping 1-6 FGA down the stretch where a make would have given the lakers' the lead or would have tied the game with 3 TOs. And a mind boggling 2-12 FGA total down the stretch.

Since both of those only equal out to a 16.7 % FGA Im guessing that since Wobe is the 'most clutch' player in the NBA...anyone shooting about 16.7% FGA or better down the stretch should go to the hall of fame (Using the local BGOL resident basketball scholar thinking )

@ you idiots that think Wobe is clutch.

The proof is right there yet Im sure you imbeciles will still be in denial.

This was too good not to post.

Now I aint a Kobe lover, but when I got to work this morning and seen he dropped 81 points my jaw hit the floor. He will never be MJ-he is a great player in his own right. He for damn sure gonna make the hall-a-fame. Remember he aint Jordan, he's kobe.

I guess I'm the only person that, when watching the game highlights, noticed that the Toronto Raptors stood around the entire game.........

Anybody can score a lot of points if there are no obstacles in front of you.

Yeah anybody, huh? :smh:
I guess the Raptors are the only team to not play D since Wilt's 100.

First of all, it seems that alot of these younger cats think a scorer = a great player. Thats just simply not true. Kobe is a prolific scorer no doubt, but now hes just as good as JORDAN? Are you fucking kidding me? These NBA 2K5 Playing niggas know shit about the game of basketball!@ :smh:

The NBA IS SHIT COMPARED TO WHEN JORDAN WAS BALLIN!!! Todays game is so watered down and bitched out, phantom calls, ticky tack fouls. You cant even touch the offensive player without refs blowing the fucking wistle. Back in late 80s - early 90s, KOBE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE TO THE HOOP LIKE HE DOES TODAY. Those teams back then had what they called the "Jordan Rules" and would pound the shit out of the Kobe Bryants of today. Those old school Piston, 76ers, Knicks, Pacers, Bullets, Jazz, Rockets teams played DEFENSE. THEY WOULD KNOCK KOBE OUT HIS FUCCING SHOES!! They even had certain bench players to come in the game just to FOUL THE SHIT OUT OF JORDAN IF HE DROVE TO THE HOOP. Kobe would be in the hostpital if he tried this shit back in the "golden age" of basketball.

Jordan knew the right time to take over a game, like in the last 5 min or so. He made everybody on that Bulls team look like NBA LEGENDS. The only good player Jordan had with him was Pippen. Until Kobe can make his TEAM better, he just another scorer in a watered down, bitched out NBA, which means NOT A DAMN THING!!

Even basketball fan worth his weight would take Majic, 'Zeke, Bird, Stockton over Bryant and none of these guys were no where near as athletic as Kobe is. Now ask yourself why wouldnt Kobe make the list. Its because he just doesnt "get it". There is a certain understanding about the game of basketball that Kobe Bryant doesnt have inspite of all his scoring ability.

Preach!

i cant believe this is a thread :smh: im a kobe fan but come the fuck on better than the god? mike J please nigga shoot yourself mike won 6 in a row dont count his retirement years and the year he only played 17 games when he came back if nigga never retired those two years and stayed for the strike shortened year could of had 9 rings in a row without a center only nba team to ever win a title without a quality big man and mike had the greatest season ever besides the one by wilt when he averaged 50 a game the 88 season when he averaged 37 a game 5 and 5 mvp, scoring leader and defensive player of the year so shut da fuck up with that shit homie and suck a dick

Man, guy has a good game and all of a sudden he is better than Jordan. On the Lakers, Kobe is not the undisputed team leader. On the Bulls, Jordan was the undisputed team leader. No one respects Kobe as much as they respect Jordan.

Guy is a good scorer. Maybe one day he will be the equal or Jordan as a scorer, but he isn't the overall player Jordan is. Jordan did what he had to do to win. He hit clutch shots and kicked ass. He did not start out with the team Kobe has been gifted with. We'll see if Kobe can bring his team to the promised land like Jordan did his twice.

Is Kobe not scoring these points against the talent that lost to Puerto Rico, Italy, Argentina and such teams in the last Olympics? Did the team that played in Sydney not almost lose to Croatia? Did you ever watch Michael Jordan??/

Ummm... the best players in the league didn't even play in those olympics...other than AI and Duncan. Lebron got no PT.

Jordan first 7 years vs Kobe, you gotta give it to the Snitch. Lets talk about this in another 7 years and compare whole careers before we can say anything.

Besides, as of now, the only person that really really knows who is better is Phil Jackson. Everytime niggas ask him he ducks that question.

One thing not to forget about 23, in '86 he dropped 63 on Bird, Parrish, and McHale in Beantown! No Phil, no scottie, no Horrace. It was his only second year and he put it on 3 certified legends for dolo. He did it against a championship team, in the playoffs where it meant a whole lot more.

To break it down for you young cats, thats like Kobe putting up 60+ on the Pistons today. Hard to fathom huh?

Kobe is not better than Jordan, but so what. He's the best in the league right now.

And for all you Jordan dickriders, he got away with all types of shit, and was a complete asshole to his teamates. Nobody could chalange him because the team was his when he first got there, just like Lebron.

All that shit jordan brought in the league was illegal. All that traveling, carrying and shit he did. :smh: :smh:

Even Wilt said they changed the rules to help Jordan score. :smh:

The NBA is watered down, hell, so is the NFL. It's called expansion. Real B-Ball was played in the NBA in the 60's when the contracts were not guranteed. My homies pops (Al Attles) who played with Wilt always talked about having to earn your contract at the begining of camp.

Kobe is a phenomenal scorer. 81 points is amazing against any pro team - even as poor of defense Toronto played (the recap of the points on ESPN showed only like two double teams on his made baskets). But even with these outburst there are still guys that pretty much stop Kobe (Kobe Stoppers). The year that Detroit embarrassed a Laker team that had players far superior to any Chicago team, Kobe looked lost and was outplayed by two opposing guards. There was no stopping Jordan with one player and no oppoising guard outplaying him in the playoffs.

Kobe better than jordan...........BULLSHIT!!! he will never be as good as jordan cause he ain't nothin but a ball hog and dosen't use his team jordan used his team and still scored 40 and 50 points. I bet kobe's head is the size of a watermelon right now

yo man, you don't know nothing about team sports. mike was a team player and kobe is not. mike won 6 titles cuase he trust his teammate and kobe doesn't. that 81 points don't mean shit if you don't have you teamates involve. so kobe is not and never be will compare to mike
