Actually,, yes, we are better than we were last year, and if anything remains to be seen it's if your knicks will be able to limp through an entire season... Your offense is still beholding to Melo's ISO happy ass, no way in hell your guards match up at all with any of the above average guards in the league (If Lin pans out you may have a chance, but if you have to rely too much on old ass Kidd forgetaboutit!!!) And the difference is, we are building around young talent, cultivating chemistry, etc. while you are basically taking on players that most teams don't even want, used up ass Dude's holding on to whatever 'glory' they can still drum up... putting together misfit old ass parts, to wrap around the LeBron-lite 'we have to make a move since LeBron told us to kiss his ass' dumb ass signing of Melo... When if you'd kept the pre-Melo team together, and added quality pieces, you would have been a MUCH better team now without him!!! Amare was playing like a fucking BEAST before Melo, once you pick up his ball hogging ass, Amare turns into Robin Lopez...
So, like I said, Keep hope alive... nobody wants to come play for your dysfunctional ass team, which is why you keep signing bullshit...

I can tell you one thing the Knicks second unit will be doing with the signings of Kidd and Camby. FAST BREAKS. No it won't be 2003 J-Kidd alley oops to RJ and KMart but we have a front court that can protect the paint which will allow the perimeter defenders to gamble more without having to worry about their man beating them because there will be a shot blocker back there.
JR and Shumpert are going to look REALLY good next year. The only teams that will give us problems will be teams with 5s that can score outside of 20-25 feet, like when the Celtics and Heat go small with Garnett and Bosh @ center. However, they can't play those guys all game and that's where Camby comes in. Second chance points will now be at a premium for opposing teams because Camby is still a rebounding machine.
Old or not he's going to be facing inferior talent vs other backups most of the year and he's still got a starter's talent. Same with Kidd.
We aren't a finished product but to say the pieces we picked up this offseason don't mesh is just hate.
We still need a SG and a wing off the bench but for what was on the free agent market this year, we did well!
As constructed I still worry about Lin's D and decision-making but I think a full training camp can clean those things up.

This is the first knicks move i like in a long time. Great depth and comparable backup to Tyson and it takes Camby out of the equation for any east coast contenders.
