I'm from central Jersey. I know his family in Lakewood. His pops is REAL cool and so is his brother Chris. It's one thing for someone from Jersey blow up and go to the league, but to actually KNOW them is another. (which is why I'm happy for Kyree Irving) The people in our area WANTED him (and that bum ass nigga Tim Thomas) to do well, but he keeps dropping the ball. Dude has been given so much opportunity to succeed and consistently fucks up in MAJOR ways. Not just ON the court, but off it. I'm pretty sure you've heard of him running a light and getting his boy killed.
Dude has an amazing skillset. This is why it is so frustrating to see him throw it away. I used to hate watching him play for the Nuggets because Karl would draw up a play...and he would immediately come down and shoot a three. The last chance I gave him is when Chauncey convinced him not to go home for the summer so he could mentor him. He had the season everyone expected from him...and then came the incidents in China the following year.
He fucked up in NO, Denver, and China. He gets into bullshit off the court. He believes his own hype. That is why I can't stand dude. I always wonder how dude would have been had he gone to school in Carolina.
