What is even worse is people generally won't vote to increase funding for education when it comes up on the ballot.

My home state is leading the nation in cuts to school budgets state wide.

The good teachers are heading to Texas because they start their teachers off @ 55k.

They've closed and combined schools only to increase the classroom size.

I'm not completely against disciplining a child when absolutely necessary but when parents raise their children effectively putting a belt to them or hands on them is rarely required.

Yup! I used to work ISS and I got all the bad kids! Teachers would send them to me for the rest of the period cause they talked to them any kind of way! When Admin did get off they ass, they either sent them Back next day (same attitude) or I had to keep them 3 days!

As a former teacher I can tell you that it can be difficult to remove a disruptive student from the classroom. The administration doesn't really want to deal with it and it can take a very long time for them to send someone to your class (only to have them return the very next day). You can tell them to get out but that's only a temporary fix. Shit is demoralizing.

You have to get the parents involved. The teacher should have sent her to the principles office as soon as she got smart. The principle should have called her parents and made them come pick her up from school. Then, the parents should have beat her little bad ass for being disrespectful and making them miss work. Under nearly all circumstances should a child not talk to an authority figure like that. Unless the teacher is a blatant racist or hates their job and hates kids should a child even think about being flippant with the remarks. Even still I would tell my kids to be cool and I'll handle it as an adult to another adult. From what I see going on in this situation based off the video that child was being extremely disrespectful. Teachers these days especially in certain areas are set up to fail and they have to deal with uncouth ratchet coontastic behavior. As someone already said teachers don't get paid enough. Parents who don't take their time to properly raise and socialize their seeds better hope and pray that public education does not get eliminated. If they were forced to pay out of pocket their children will be out of school on suspension a whole damn lot.

I just can't figure out how to fix this every day I see these kids and you can just look at their nature and actions and 99% of the time figure out there faith in life shit is sad

The politicians who we elect who are not fighting for adequate funding so our children can compete with those in more affluent zip codes. Parents who don't know how to be parents and are ill equipped at doing so. Administrators who don't back up their teachers. The lack of involvement by so called community leaders in their local schools. The kids are the ones suffering because they lack resources, equity, and commitment from the adults.

Parents, or lack of proper parenting, is the cause of the all the problems in schools with respect to disruptive behavior. There was a time back before corporal punishment was outlawed in schools that this
kind of behavior would not have been tolerated. Had she run up on a teacher like this back then she would have been knocked on her ass. But now kids know that can't be touched so they feel free to act out.
Parents simply are not doing their job and are expecting teachers to do it for them.

I know of one incident where the dude was in around the 10th grade and got caught stealing at home and they called the police. When the police came and tried to ask him to step outside he stepped out there and got in their face asking them what the fuck you want.
A fight pursued and those 2 police called for more help. But when they put him in jail he only stayed a few days. Then they tell her even though he stole out of her purse he is still a minor. And that if he misses any more days of school she can go to jail for that.
She cried and asked them if 2 grown men police cannot handle the boy what the fuck do they think she suppose to be able to do. Sad situation.
