Kevin Hart & Wesley Snipes To Star As Brothers In ‘True Story’ (spoilers)

Another fraternal drama like Sugar Hill was. Did you miss that part?
Sugar Hill was a movie about drugs. Users and pushers. This doesn't give any type of Sugar Hill vibes other than Wesley being in it...
Bruh, movies are about more than just what’s on the surface.

Sugar Hill was about two brothers (a fraternal drama) growing apart. One wanted to remain in a life of crime the other didn’t.

This movie True Story is about two brothers (a fraternal drama) but instead of using the back drop of crime they chose another route but still face threats to the relationship.

And again, the common denominator in both movies is Wesley Snipes all those things between both movies is reminiscent of Sugar Hill.

Get it now?

The shocking racist airplane passenger scene in 'True Story' is based on Kevin Hart's real experience

Hart told Insider that the scene was not an embellishment for dramatic effect, he has certainly encountered that level of racism in his travels since being a superstar.

"No question about it," Hard confirmed. "People get so comfortable with where they feel they can be with you because of what you do. And sometimes that line is just ignored."

"There is no boundary, and you have to find yourself being patient and chill so you don't come off like an asshole," Hart continued. "You have to be real cool how to handle things and handle people because things can switch on you. So you find yourself always taking the higher road.

"It's making people aware they are wrong, but doing it in the most professional way. And that's what this scene was. It was a scene that showed Kid having control, but that's Kevin in a small way, too."

Had a night where I couldn't sleep. Perfect atmosphere to watch this show for me. I enjoyed this show a lot. Any time you can add the black experience to this genre you gonna get something you don't see a lot of when it comes to how stories like this play out.

And that scene where
Kidd was talking to that chick in the hotel and they kept giving up those lower body ass shots as if we sitting down right behind her was cinematic gold. A phat ass in an outfit like that is powerful.

I like the show but there were a few observations....

1. Why is Juice always dying in a bitch ass manner??? (the black dude from Sons of Anarchy)

2. to be as popular as he's supposed to be...the kid has no paparazzi issues other than one obsessive fan??

3. didn't really like the conclusion with him giving 6 million to his bodyguard. This whole thing started because the kid refused to be extorted and exorbitantly so. Bodies piled up around him quickly behind that shit...so why would be agree to give his employee so much money for the same reason.

Especially when all the Hersh had was his word against the kids. The kid should have said something like:

Hersh..all this started because people tried to use me. But I like you and your one of the few people I feel I can trust. So here's my counter offer...

Because I treated you like shit the last week AND you're not just a great bodyguard but a good friend AND you took a bullet for me..I'm going to give you TRIPLE what your current salary is PLUS a healthy bonus for the next 3 Christmases. And I insulted your relationship with your girlfriend and I was wrong for that so I'll look out for her too starting with opening for me at Madison Square Garden.

OR... you can run to the police and tell them what you THINK you know and it will be your word against mine.

And I'll be forced to have to hire a dream team of lawyers and spin doctors...and even if I end up going to jail.. I promise you, you STILL WON'T GET 6 MILLION DOLLARS and my team will tear you apart in the court of law and public opinion. When the dust settles from this...you'll be lucky to get a job as a Walmart greeter.

Now...do you really wanna roll the dice and go thru all that shit or do you agree to accept my counter offer and we can all get on with our lives?

And he can still order his manager to demand 31 million from the studio to offset the pay increases and giving up quality time with his son.

thats how I would have ended it. :dunno::giggle:

It was so authentic that it felt real.

People, largely white people in situations like this, but people feel but they can say whatever they want to say to someone famous and there are rules of interaction and Rules of Engagement

Most of us have had to check someone white for being too comfortable or feeling that they could say something that they didn't have the relationship and didn't respect the rules of interaction or Rules of Engagement

White people can't say the n word. White people also don't like to be told they can't do something because they think they can say whatever they want because they're white. That's privilege that they don't comprehend

I really enjoyed the series even though I didn't pick up on it until episode 4 because I was sleep when my cousin started it on Thanksgiving

she had me when I saw the thighs in that skirt from the front...just when I was wondering what that ass looked like...cameraman blessed us with that rear angle

that shit motivated me to come post in this thread...she was sexy af, I was hoping that we would get to see that ass in all its glory.

Good show tho really enjoying it so far...shit keeps pulling you in more and more with each episode

Honestly I thought once Hersh turned around, I thought Kid was gonna shot him too! :roflmao:

If they continue this as a series, I bet Kid kills him too!

I understand why Kid didn’t put up a fight because paying the guy off in the beginning would’ve avoided everything that happened.

But he was a little too calm and didn’t argue about the 6 million so I thought he was gonna kill him too!

Have to agree with you on the ending
Didn’t make sense to go through all that just to have him end it like that

but thats the thing.... paying the first guy off WOULDN'T have avoided anything because kid thought he killed that girl and that dude could lord that over his head forever...whenever he wanted to he could pop back into his life and demand more money and remember theres no statue of limitation on murder or killing. Kid recognized that if he gave in at that point there would never be an end to it. As far as Kid was concerned 6 million was just the FIRST payment for his silence. Thats why he had to kill that dude. Then he had to kill his own brother because carlton REALLY had a real murder over his head. And if he could trick kid with a fake killing God only knows what Carlton would do in the future.

So Hersh threatening him in the same manner, going by how he reacted thru out the story SHOULD have resulted in Hersh with a target on his back.

Thats why I wrote that ALT ending that way...Kid would want to de-escalate the situation because he can't keep killing people BUT he'll be damned if he's going to allow ANYONE to hold shit over his head and threatened all that he's built. Kid needed to assert control of his life again. Thats why giving in to Hersh's demand was like :puzzled: .... Its like they forgot that just to pull out of that little twist in the end.
:smh:

I hear you, Carlton would’ve held that over his head for the rest of his life whenever he needed something. He had to do what he had to do and I guess paying Hersh came full circle and he wanted it to end.

TRUE STORY This series was a combination of ultra predictable, some good twists, and a plot i have seen in about 5 different films.I enjoyed watching Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes work together.I enjoyed how the series showed the dark side of fame and how money can outweigh morality at times.

i mean you already explained it in your next post.
hersh was a ride or die so he knew he would be safe also
he wasnt a criminal like ari.
it technically didnt come out his pocket.

also remember he said herh is capable of doing shit he is not somebody u just try to kill

the bigger question would be after receiving 6 million would he still work for kid or just retire.

Good shit... I watched all episodes yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it.... Snipes and Hart played well off each other with some good acting chemistry.... at first I was dubious about Hart playing a serious role but eventually I was impressed with his performance.

never watched a kevin hart movie outside of jumanji
and 40 year old version
but im pleasantly surprised at his acting

this was so well done

binged watched it in a day
I'm watching it right now. Damn good. Damn good.

I saw the last three episodes on Thanksgiving so I'm starting it from the beginning and finishing out the whole series. I know it's going to happen but I want to know how it went down. Very well done very well acted.

Kevin Hart has improved his acting big time. He's not just a funny man anymore

I'm on episode 2. Loving the writing. There isn't a character out of place.

I recognized two of the actors from Luke Cage, the guy who played Gene and former NFL running back Thomas Jones, who was the detective in one of the later episodes
