Kenya: New HIV cases spike as U.S. funding for free condoms is cut

Still Kenyans must accept some level of responsibility here in the raw dog brothel that is today's Kenya. Prostitution is rampant, particularly in the capital, Nairobi and the coastal cities. Kids heavily involved in the sex trade, many with parental prodding and permission. Male prostitution is also alive and well in Kenya as gay Europeans arrival daily for gay sex tourism. Africa is definitely not the place for frolic while unwrapped. Infection numbers in Kenya are beginning to rival those of South Africa. With funding cuts for free condom distribution, things can only go even further off the rails. So many factors combine to spread the virus so rapidly. Unemployment, poverty, and yes, the colonial mindset that renders many Kenyan women so eager to participate in raw sex with white tourists in their obsession to bear a white-mixed child. The Kenyan mindset is nothing short of surreal, and without major intervention, expect things to get exponentially worse in the near future.

What's scary is that millions of people are being kept alive with anti HIV meds, and if the economy collapses, the ones who are too poor to pay for them, their lives will be at the most risk.

You got that right! The Kenyan government supplies all its HIV positive citizens with retrovirals but the supply has grown short. they are said to be tremendously expensive and the budget cuts due to Trump's funding cuts for melanated nations is leaving people with elevated T cell counts and ripe for transmitting the virus. The good news for the men is that HIV can be difficult to pass from female to male. Thus far more women here are infected than men.

HIV medication, without good insurance in the US, is going to easily run you like 2.5-3k a month.

Your only option is to remain destitute in hopes of getting it for free, or get a job with great insurance that eats the cost.

Its the exact reason why if you are going to passport bro anywhere in Africa you need to take prep.

I've been living in the developing world for 5 out of the last 7 years. the only precaution I take is a condom and possibly anti-malarials depending on where I am. I'm in Nairobi now and anti-malarials aren't suggested for this location. If a man is gonna catch HIV from a woman, he'll most likely catch it from vaginal secretions entering his urethra. A condom prevents that. You can do oral safely as long as you've no open sores in the mouth.... the mouth is not normally a transmission path. You can't catch HIV through the skin (unbroken skin) If your balls are flopping around in her juices that's not gonna cause an HIV issue. I'm too close to my final curtain call to spend an inordinate amount of time worrying about it.

What's scary is that they are normalizing HIV and most belive its not that big of a deal, outfits a ticking time bomb and another rope that keeps us teathered to the government.
