A new poll from USA Today and Suffolk University released on Sunday contains a grim snapshot of public sentiment toward the Biden administration.

President Joe Biden has been on a months-long slide toward historically poor polling numbers, but yesterday's USA Today/Suffolk poll was even worse for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Biden's approval rating hit yet another a new low, this time at 38%, but Harris' dropped to 28%.

A 51% majority of respondents said they disapprove of the job Harris is doing as VP.

At this early stage of a modern presidency, Harris' numbers in the USA Today/Suffolk poll are unprecedented.

The closest comparison — which involves slightly different methodology and margins of error — would be former Vice President Dick Cheney, the most unpopular US vice president in polling history. He bottomed out at 30% in Gallup's tracking survey, but that wasn't until the end of former President George W. Bush's second term in 2007.

Harris has taken on thorny assignments early on in her tenure as VP, including running point on the administration's efforts at handling the migration surge of asylum seekers at the southern border.

As Insider's Robin Bravender reported in late October, Harris aides are quietly worried about the 2024 presidential election, should Biden forego a reelection bid, with former 2020 primary rival and Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg posing a potential threat.

The USA Today/Suffolk poll had a sample of 1,000 registered voters nationwide and a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

I can understand a president's approval rating taking hits based upon what he does or doesn't get done... but a VP, lol.... outside of Dick Cheney, I bet 90% of the people polled can't say what any VP does on a daily/weekly basis, and they wouldn't be able to give actual solid reasons why they don't like her.... they just don't like her.

Neither Biden nor Harris are who the people really wanted. The people wanted CHANGE, for real, not just in the form of pretty words, as was the case with Obama.

Not once, but twice, the powers that be in the Democratic Party, made sure the people's candidate, Bernie Sanders, was taken out of contention, not merely by appealing to voters, but via backroom deals made in order to keep moderate (read USELESS, CORPORATE SHILLS) in power.

This is how tRump got elected. This is why the democrats will lose the next presidential election.

If the people don't get the CHANGE they want, they will opt for the CHANGE they can get. They took Sanders out of contention; the only candidate representing CHANGE left was the orange nazi.

The reason why Biden approval ratings are low and Harris is because Biden promised all kinds of shit like $15 dollar minimum wage, canceling student debt, expending Medicare for all, etc And he has NOT done shit.

Democrats got everybody hype to vote and they have not done shit and they can’t do shit because they take so much money from Wall Street and Corporate America. So you can’t take money from greedy corporations and then act like your going to be the next FDR or a super progressive. Because things like $15 dollar minimum wage is something corporations don’t want.

Starting from 2022 the republicans will dominate. They will win back the house and senate. They might even win in 2024 and have a majority for the next 10-15 years.

Because after Biden the democrats bench is weak. They don’t have any charismatic leaders. They also can’t use the first black man or first black women hustle on black people to vote. Most blacks especially young blacks won’t be so loyal to the democrats like that.
 
Without googling it, virtually no one can tell you what George HW Bush, Gore, Biden, etc. actually did as VP. Until she announces that she's running, I could care less what her approval rating is.

Actually, yes you can. The biggest difference between Pence and Harris, other than race, gender, and party affiliation is that the base of the elected president liked and supported what they were doing so, being a reflection of that and an echo chamber of sorts effects people's opinions of you.

She's gonna get knocked by Republicans, that's a given. But, when she's knocked by her own party, then that's precieved poor performance. If you look at the data, only 36% of people 30 and under gave her a positive rating.

Think about this, she's in charge of the border, but she's been super silent and took months to visit for the first time. The Haitian border thing doesn't help at all either.

Her biggest problem is that people can never tell if it's the real her. She feels too much like a politician. Black folk look at her with the side eye due to her silence on black issues. Notice that she hasn't mentioned any black since the election. During the election it was HBCUs, black Greeks, I'm black, my dad's Jamaican, I listen to Tupac, etc. Now??

She needs a complete overhaul before the next election or the democrats will see the worst loss in history to the Republicans.

If they regain power in 2022, they will impeach Biden. If they win the white house in 2024, they will NEVER relinquish power, bar losing an acual shooting civil war.

The determining factor, as is the case will all coups, is who the military decides to back. Last time, we got lucky. Don't count on it happening again, with a tRump appointed joint chief of staff.

It does not help that our current AG, Merrick Garland, an associate of the Federalist Society, is NOT prosecuting Bannon, et. al., who clearly orchestrated the 1/6 coup.

Biden SHOULD have selected Bernie as his running mate, and appointed Harris AG. In this scenario, the nazis trying (and apparently succeeding in slow motion) to take over the government would be prosecuted appropriately, and those in congress who clearly helped plan said coup would not be in office at this time; a grand jury would have indicted them by now. Remember, Harris was a very effective prosecutor.

Having Sanders as VP would satisfy, to a great degree, those of us that wanted him to be president. This would have effectively boosted the ratings of both potus and vpotus.

What they have done is not only piss off the maga/nazi crowd, but also their own progressive wing.

When the clarion call went out for (black) people to "vote like you never voted before", I knew then that the fix was in; all Biden's opponents were suddenly dropping out of the race and supporting his bid for potus. If you recall, before this, Biden was struggling to even come in third in the primaries.

Perhaps most (black) people mistook Cummings for John Lewis; they were the determining factor in Biden's win.

Now we have a handful of well meaning white liberals running things. These are people who largely have never even been in a fist fight, let alone had to fight for survival. They are the kinds of people who bring rule books to a gun fight. The guns ALWAYS win.

Trump's former lawyer, Cohen, warned us: he will NOT willingly give up power.

The main problem is that one party is effectively the American nazi party now. The other is what passes for the party of the people, what would be called the "labor" party in Europe. However, they are compromised by corporate democrats: Obama, Biden, Pelosi, et. cetera.

As for parties working against one another, I WANT a party to work against the party of nazis.

When has there been such interest in and approval ratings for what a VICE President does? With the exception of the war criminal Dick Cheney the answer is never. We know what this is all about and so does the OP but his anti Democratic Party bias evidently makes it acceptable for the racists to go after the first woman of color VP. :smh:

I'm just speaking to the numbers and the probability a man his age won't live long enough to overturn a 200 year old system. But of course I could be wrong. Doesn't matter either way to me. I've spent 32 years under republicans. I think I'll be alright. This country is too large and too complex to get frightened over the bullshit that's kicked around in Washington DC.

30 years ago, Obama ,the Clintons and Biden would have been considered moderate republicans, based on their policies.

This mind set is precisely why the republinazi party is successful in curtailing voting rights, abortion rights, and promoting white supremacy, de facto and de jure.

Q-Anon people who conspired to orchestrate the Jan 6th domestic terrorist attack on the Capitol are not only in Congress but are among the most popular figures in the party (Marjorie Taylor Greene). We are in the middle of a slow moving coup.
