I was about to say the same thing. Most people who don't have any assets figure they don't need one. Eventually they get older and start getting some "bread" and forget that they never had their will done....

Let me save you the trouble of further responses (since YOU obviously are having emotional issues around the facts of this matter): no I am not lonely, no I am not miserable, no I have NEVER been in this situation and never will, and no I will not apologize for what happened to Steve McNair because of his infidelity. We are adults and the choices we make always have a consequence (good or bad). I never said he deserved to die, but his cheating is 100% what led to it. Don't put words in my mouth.

That won't happen. Sports announcers would play up his son's lineage and how great his father was as a football player and how McNair's son overcame the tragedy of his father's murder, similar to the way they talk about Michael Jordan's father's murder. They won't talk about the more unsavory aspects at all.
Yes, enough money to survive until the estate is settled. They will likely have to setup a trust for his kids, and determine how old they have to be before they can touch it, while making sure the wife has money to take care of the kids, take care of his debts and so forth. It's not something they can work out in a couple of days and likely will take years so it was basically survival money until everything settled.
