Juan Soto Signed the richest contract $765 million being the highest paid MLB player!

Oh for sure it doesn’t but now he can say he beat the Yankees for a player they wanted and was on their team. The Mets have never been able to say that! That’s huge and big; especially in the that league…

He played it perfectly

This is a serious loss to an already high pressure situation in the Yankee Universe

Makes Steinbrenner jr look weak and cheap and even LESS like his father

Puts HUGE pressure on Cashman to GM his way to a chip even faster

Boone should just quit now because he is going to be killed after every game the entire season win or lose (more)

And the entire organization is going to be even more pressed (if that's even possible) to win.

Mets can continue to Met and no one will care

UNLESS Soto sucks or gets injured (God forbid)

then we gonna need security on every rooftop in the tri state area...

Because mets fans will start jumping off each and every roof top 5 stories or more.

Bryce took my phillies to the world series along with him being the MVP.

Soto isn't on bryce level at all.
If any résumé warrants that sort of commitment, it's Soto's. He is already a four-time All-Star, four-time Silver Slugger, batting champion, Home Run Derby champion and World Series champion. His .421 career on-base percentage is tops in baseball since he debuted. His .532 slugging percentage is seventh. His .953 OPS and his 158 wRC+ are fourth. Soto's 769 career walks are the most \for a player through his age-25 season -- 99 more than second-place Mickey Mantle.

Thats not fake that genius! He won’t have to pay California taxes on the majority of his money! He won big time with deferring..:

But it's not REALLY that number it benefits the Dodgers greatly too.

It is 'fake" because on the books it's like 475.

I'm saying I do NOT see Soto doing that team friendly deal. Do you know the specifics yet?

Well let's see how it goes with the mets since he won't be playing with dudes that are better than the team he left for more money. Good luck to him.

In seven major league seasons, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound Soto has hit .285/.421/.532 with 201 home runs and 592 RBIs and has accumulated more than 36 wins above replacement.

Again he’s only 26 years old!! He has 10 more years of elite level play! Dude is gonna finish with over 500 home runs in his career easily…

Remember he came up in Washington and still balled out when everyone left Washington. And the Mets have some good players also. He’s gonna do what he’s been doing believe that…

genius for the Dodgers ... they using his money to pay him down the road ....

always get ur money let ur money make u money that deferral shit is team friendly not player friendly

but ir worked they already won a chip ..

imagine how much 49 mill a year sitting in the bank or them investing it somewhere else is helping them ...? :money:

yeah, but he has to stay healthy though since he can lose years of not playing.

He's the franchise player and it comes with a lot of responsibility but like I said, good luck.

What I say?

You said Ohtani contract was fake lol. Deferring or not is up to the player and the agent. I see it either way. But if I’m in a high tax state; and I’m getting money outside of my contract; then I’m deferring for sure to avoid them taxes…

Phillies couldn't afford him anyway and he was going to any team who was willing to give him the most money.

Depends on the player and the situation; Ohtani is making millions off endorsements; his getting endorsements from Japan also they don’t talk about. Him deferring his contract money until after he retires doesn’t hurt him at all. And he’s avoiding California taxes. He’s good..:

It was $5 mil more for 1 extra year which averaged out to like $4 mil less/year......

Maybe he doesn't like the "culture" of the team... and the Mets were more appealing....

that greasy ass agent was playing chess ... he used the yankees to drive the price up ...

and the mets owner doesnt give a fuck his pocket deep deep

also add ego to the mix ...along with money i think he waned his own team ...he will always be Robin to Judge`s Batman ...

n by the way there is no cap in baseball fellas just luxury taxes and whole lot of other shit

so these billionaire owners that wanna win can spend to their hearts content ...

When I said fake I meant his money is deferred and it's really around 475 and the rest differed

And Soto getting ALL HIS MONEY NOW.

that's what I said would happen exactly.

That ain't the same bro.

If I had a choice? Give my money.

But word to Iverson and Bonilla that deferred can be sweet too.

Great hitter, but he isnt a five tool player. He will end up just being a DH in a couple years. Hoping the Yankees spend that money to build up the team.

Well staying healthy is always the key; but he’s not injury prone as of now. I expect him to finish as one of the top hitters ever! Top 5 left handed hitter…

That man numbers is like Ted Williams

And he stays healthy.

He is a generational talent period

Worth every penny.

But if I was him?

Having Judge on the line up was a great protection.

We gon see.

It’s the Mets! They ain’t gotta win lol and they probably won’t…

Plus y`all seeing what the Dodgers doing ...

they just added dam near another Ace to the staff ... smh

and thats what he signed up for ...?

the NL deep as fuck .... Dodgers Padres Braves Phils ...

who in the AL scares the Yanks ...?

Pitchin just like Defense in the football wins championships ...

It’s a guaranteed contract so he gets all of it regardless; and he’s getting millions in endorsement money! So he’s more than fine; I’m.not mad at him making 68 million every year for 10 years after his retired from baseball!!!

Of course and Yankees stadium was perfect for him; I would have stayed a Yankees also; more glorious than being a met…

We'll see if that happens.

He better win the MVP and at least make it to the world series along with a ring.

We saying the same thing

But you gotta give me my respect when I told you Soto not deferring sh*t

If it's so great?

Why ain't Soto do it too?

Because at his age it don't make sense.

He's not even healthy Mike Trout or Bryce Haper, much less Ted Williams

Plus his defense is mediocre at bet

yes he`s an average outfielder at best .... he was committing errors left n right last yr ...

all i know is the NL aint no joke ... the Mets need arms ...

u cant out score everybody especially playoff time ...

half the braves team was hurt this year n they still made noise ... they are gonna b healthy ...man listen ...

Every player different and Soto ain’t got endorsements like Ohtani! Again it for everyone. Like LBJ can sign 2 year contracts with opt out deals; kawai or AD can’t do that because nobody would pay them because they would be in street clothes…

I'm talking about him winning a ring and MVP with the mets since he became the franchise player getting that crazy contract.
Bryce ain’t won nothing since he got a crazy contract right? I mean sometimes you do and sometimes you don’t! That don’t mean nothing pimp…

didnt say it hurt just sayin that they are using his money to pay down the road ...

thats team friendly not player friendly ... he obviously doesnt need it ...

it allows the Dodgers to sign other players and it worked they won ..

they have a staff full of aces ...

they won and half their pitchin staff was hurt ...

they were in the playoffs throwin bullpen games cuz they didnt have enuff starters healthy ...
