Jones-Hopkins II ruined: Green raids the party with a knockout

Everybody has a glass jaw at 40. They just usually don't let people hit it.

That's utterly untrue. If you had a strong jaw at 20, you will always have a strong jaw. First thing to go is your legs, Roy lost his a long time ago. Your power and your jaw will always be with you. I always said Roy was a fraud tho.

This is what happens when a nicca spend his whole career trying not to get hit or take a shot, he doesn't know what will happen to him or how he's gonna react when it happens. Point blank this shit happens to a lot of fast fighters when they lose their speed and hang around too long. I hope Floyd never hangs around this long, that dude's never been hit flush. I swear if he gets caught by a huge shot it'll be Tarver/Jones all over again. Then again Floyd, if he sticks around long enough will be a fighter similar to Hopkins, so maybe not. Anyway, :smh:

That's right. Ask legends like Trevor Berbick (nevermind) and James Douglas.
You beat a legend, you become a footnote. Tell Danny Green to fight outside Australia to be a legend.

Damn Roy. I just got back on the bandwagon and this is how you do me.:smh:

Does anybody think Bernard will fight Chad Dawson now?

I never like dude. I never like fighters that are scared to get hit and barely throw punches. Roy was like tyson. He made a great living off fighter cats that were scared of him. It should have been over years ago, but he never made the fight with BHOP after the Tito fight.

Your absolutely right you can be old as hell with a chin and power (Foreman), but the first thing to go will be your legs, and then your hand speed.

I think he closed the fight well.. he didnt get the KO but he was hurting him at the end..but he completely dominated fight and still shows no signs of slowing down..

I would agree, Hopkins fought a typical Hopkins fight. Economical but he clearly won. I get worried when I start to see cats not fighting like themselves.

man.. just watched the RJJ fight again with B-Hop commenting.... like I said.. this dude with has horrible defensive habits..dude has horrible defensive mechanics and his loss of speed just makes him a sitting target... sitting on the ropes with his left-hand completely down at this knee..

Watching right now too.

Man, B-hop is the consummate promoter... he's still pushing for a Roy Jones fight.

Thats not Roy Jones jr,thats someone who doesn't have the will to fight but is doing it for the money and the sake of doing it because he knows nothing else but boxing.

They all do it at some point, all the greats

That was an off-brand clubbing punch too.

We're talking about the same Roy Jones? The guy who never wanted to fight James Toney until he couldn't make weight at 168 anymore drain himslef and then never gave him a rematch. The same guy who fought 20 cab drivers in a row? The same guy who moved up in weight to fight John "i need a hug" Ruiz instead of fighting Holyfield(like Toney did). The same guy who when all his older contemporaries were whuppin young ass, was getting ko'd? Yeah, all-time great. I thought it was so fitting that while Roy was going downhill with no brakes, James was having a renaissance and winning the cruiserweight and heavyweight titles in a couple years. James Toney > Roy Jones. Forget B-Hop, Roy wanted NO part of James once they got older. James would've embarassed that ass and stuck his tongue out at Roy while Jones was hitting the canvas.

i swear the worst thing that roy ever did to himself was drop down two weight divisions....there were fights for that cat at heavy man....money fights......he could have taken chris byrd's ibf title away, james toney, a faded mike tyson, etc....the decline of his reflexes after taking 25 lbs off has been saddening to watch....why in the fuck however did he never change his boxing style to compensate for that? a 40 year old fighting with his left hand down like that...no wonder that right hand fucked him up:smh:

i hope to god roy retires...not even fighting lower level fighters..just retire..he has money...he needs to do something constructive...just by the way he was moving he's prolly 1 or 2 more fights away from being like meldrick taylor.....maybe he needs to fulfill his promise and go visit a friend of his from yesteryear to see what his life is like these days: gerald mcclellan:smh:

I doubt seriously he would've beaten Toney at heavy. Roy looked small against Ruiz, who is one of the worst heavyweight champs ever. James utterly destroyed and ko'd a living legend like Holy. James skill set was always greater than Roy's, Roy just had blazing speed, once he lost that, the fighter beneath that got exposed.

Roy is the original glass jaw but he fooled a lot of u niggas for years up until Tarver and Glen Thomas

i agree, even tho i still say he was exciting and beat alot of niggaz asses he never fought anybody good except hopkins and hopkins took it 12 rounds,

Toney did not destroy Holyfield. He beat him up and Holyfield's body gave out.

Agreed with the rest.

Ive never seen Evnader get hit as flush as he did in that fight, he never landed anything meaningful. Fine, I'll concede he might not have been destroyed but he was made to looklike shit and, he got the shit beat outta him.
